Same with Tighnari! He’s based off of Al-Tighnari. He was an agronomist (studying soil and crop), botanist, poet, traveler, and physician. Very much like in-game Tighnari.

I really like that we got an important character whose shtick is “it’s okay to be just a normal person”. The message of “you can still be pretty cool even if you aren’t a chosen one, a half-god, or obsessed with some craft” feels reassuring. Glad to read that many people like him as well. :)
I’m still not quite used to his playstyle (I keep forgetting the mirrors actually exist because they attack from completely off-frame), but it’s a welcome challenge and mastering the timings sounds like a fun plan for the next few weeks.

@@dieptrieu6564 normal as in "biologically human, not possessing any supernatural powers (bar the vision), not performing some exceptional profession or craft (not an exorcist, not the last surviving practitioner of some technique, etc)". He's just a "top 10% of the class student" type of smart, that's basically his only outstanding quality compared to an average citizen. Pretty different from the typical genshin character who's always either non-human, or a leader of some sorts, or practices some extraordinary activities, etc.

@@dieptrieu6564 to be a good student you just need to, uh, read a lot and deliver homeworks on time? That's pretty easy if one possesses even a moderate amount of self-control. That's commendable but not extraordinary in any way.
Amber is a pretty average person and a nice example, true. For Collei - I take it you didn't read the manga? Her story is absolutely wild. And Xiangling literally travels abroad to collect rare ingredients and basically pioneers Liyue's whole food safety science research, that's not ordinary at all. Imagine if you traveled to Bahamas to collect local starfish, find ways to cook them, and tested their edibility on yourself.
@@jeremiahsmith916 You are talking about the most pretigeous school in the world of this game. Plus, these guys are not high school students. They are pretty much the equivalent of students trying to get a doctor or master degree. Which require them to conduct their own experiment, report and show actuals results on their project. It's not as easy as reading and doing homework. In fact, they are more like researchers and scholar than normal students
Collei's story is all about her disease. She herself isn't that big of a deal. Sure she get into some sort of "great adventure", but that doesn't show her being "exceptional". Xiangling is a great cook, but still a cook. She get a point for inventing the food safety , tho i don't know how much she contribute to it. But either way, her adventure and cooking skill isn't that big of a deal when you put her near researcher like alhaitham

@yashviranjan9978 Don't compare him with anywhere near Ayato as you said Ayato is okish/ mid and in vape teams Childe does a way better job there due to his insane Aoe and nuke. Al Haitham is way more meta than Ayato.

OMG, I found this a year later, but YESSSSS!!! I came back to this video after a year and am so glad I found yuor comment. I always have that in my head whenever Alhaitham says that. Lmao!
I really like the flexibility of his kit. You can either do main dps, using his burst to refresh the mirrors, or burst sub dps by doing a quick e > plunge > q combo.

the definition of talk less do more, or I can block out all your move in just one action, I really like him since beginning, he's the mix of all my fave chara, knew all but not greedy like zhongli, good at analysis like albedo and heizhou, strong but never boasted like kazuha, love doing it behind the scene like diluc, he's cool guy, like he has it all but we're not envious of him since he never been greedy, in fact I love how similar he is to cale henituse, how hard they worked for the greater good, only to dreamed of leisure life, sadly no one around them thinking that, they're even chosen a high title, which is maddening them up XDD
been a minute since yuri lowenthal's impeccable voice graced my ears and dainsleif seems extra "dainsleif-y" as he's boggling over alhaitham's way of life lol

Alhaitham is a difficult character in personality and in gameplay but its so on brand for him because he's a smart character and you gotta be smart to play him or he doesnt deal efficient and effective damage.

@@helper_bot Keqing is one of my mains as well, and Alhaitham has potential to become a new main for me as well, but calling him a Dendro Keqing is not really accurate to his kit or moveset, I have both of them now and they don't feel even remotely similar in playstyle

I pilot my friend’s account a good amount of time and that account has a main Keqing, so I’ve used her a lot. For some reason Alhaitham’s playstyle feels really different to me. Probably because of the skill animations and sound effects.

Alhaitham has something of a bit of a lisp? Or an accent? I’m not sure what it is, but his words just doesn’t flow as smoothly in a North American accent. Dainsleif doesn’t have this accent when he speaks so I feel like it’s easier to differentiate them than you think🤷♀️

That phenomena is not uncommon. I listen to a few Twitch streamers, and for some, people have confused them for their co-commentators, or have confused co-commentators for other co-commentators, just because of their voices.

I've been having a blast playing with him so far. His weapon crit dmg is crazy high too
You know, everyone keeps calling him dendro keqing and I was worried about that because I already have a triple crowned keqing that I been rocking forever; I say this so I can make it clear that outside of the animations of his ult, he is NOTHING like her. He feels so different and combat flows so much better with him
First time testing Alhaitham, He is so good to play at im really like the combo. Already have some combo Skill(Get 2mirror) > Charged Attack(Get 1mirror) > Normal Attack until Finish or around 3or4 second > immediately burst so it still have 3 mirror

I WON MY 50/50 WITH HIM. He is so smooth and fluid to play. A bit of a strict rotation though because of his mirrors, but definitely fun and flashy

the most fun character to play. you may start with either burst or E depending to your liking. or only use CA to delete small enemy like one random hilichurl you find when you're doing dailies. you just can't go wrong with him. the only downside is, he needs proper sets of equipment to balance the atk, ER, EM, and Crit value. shortly, min maxing his stats is a difficult homework, especially if you're f2p. once you're done building him, you'll be amazed. great character for both casual and meta players.
