Fabulous video. Thanks for featuring our winning quilt by the Comberton Quilters. I love your work. We are obviously like minded! Love, love love your thimble! I was given mine as a 21st birthday present almost 50 years ago and I still treasure it and can’t sew without it! ❤
Emma those hand quilted quilts are indeed works of art and incredible! I am so glad you found your perfect thimble. You deserve the best. Imagine the beautiful embroidery you will do with that! Thanks for showing us around.
Wow, I would go to this in a heartbeat! In the western US there are a few shows around the more populated areas like Seattle. I think quilting is due for a big comeback, there are fewer shops now due to a lot of the owners retiring. Pandemic didn't help either.
I agree 100%! Here in the USA, we have lost so many quilt shops, & quilt shows since. Covid & the pandemic. I feel very sorry for all the shop owners who were unable to bounce back, & had no choice but to close. YOU ARE RIGHT - it is time for a comeback!!

Hi Angela, it was so lovely to meet you, thank you so much for coming. I’m so sorry you weren’t feeling well, I had no idea. I hope your trip back was ok and that you are feeling much better now, take care 🌸

I’ve seen several posts about the quilt show, and yours to me is the very very best. I loved your commentary about the stalls and the quilts, and how you showed details of the prize-winning ones, especially the Sunbonnet Sue. Your workshop looked so much fun and the materials so sweetly beautiful. I live in the US so I don’t know if I could ever attend this festival, but your video has inspired me enough to look at my quilting in new ways. A massive thank you, Emma!!
I'm wishing I could have been there (but in the US) would have loved to take your class. Great video, congrats on the thimble@@emmajonesvintagesewingbox

Great video Emma. Thank you for taking us with you. All of the quilts were stunning, they really have moved into the C21. Enjoy the rest of summer with your son 🤗
An excellent video….thanks so much for sharing. The quilts you featured were awe inspiring…..incredibly beautiful and unique. I’m in Los Angeles California, USA and obviously we have quilt shows, but i have to say the quilts displayed at this show were absolutely world class. Thanks also for the link to the entire quilt presentation. I have to look into the thimbles. So fun…. Thanks again Emma.
Oh wow that’s looks like a fabulous weekend at the quilt show - one day I’d love to travel to the uk and time it to be able to attend the show - I started EPP through watching you and Kate at The Last Homely House - you are both so very inspiring 🥰 I’ve just posted a video of my makes - I know you are very busy but if you get a spare minute then please stop by and have a look 🥰💕 and thank you again for all of your inspiration xx
I definitely will watch! I’ve just subscribed and I will sit down and watch hopefully this evening, whilst I do a bit of stitching, looking forward to it 🌸😊
Thank you sharing the festival of quilts with us. I didn’t attend but it did look really good. Hope you got on with your teaching programme. What a lot of lovely threads there. The winner of the small quilts I agree was lovely. Some very clever people around. I would love to be able to quilt like that. I wish I lived near you, if you teach in general, I am so inspired by your work, and would really enjoy learning how you do things. Sounds like you had a good spend up. Good for you. You deserve them all. I love the thimble.
Aww thank you Karen! I’ve been trying not to buy too much throughout the year so I could get a few things at the show, I will probably do the same for next year. Thanks so much for watching. I’m hoping to teach more workshops going forward 🌸
I have just discovered your channel. I enjoyed the festival of quilts you showed. I am new the EPP. I have a kit to make up. After opening it I realised one had to know how to EPP. So I went on to TH-cam and found your channel. I now feel I can go ahead. It’s a small project. A pin cushion. I’m from a small country town Delegate in NSW Australia 🇦🇺 Happy stitching bye 👋
Hello Emma Those quilts were gorgeous. That’s a beautiful thimble. You remind me so much of my granddaughter. I enjoy your videos and your projects. ❤❤
I am so happy for you! For finding a treasure to sew with! I visited her booth in the US in Wisconsin. Every time her booth is so crowded! Her thimbles are amazing and every one is beautiful!
I watched your video from Festival of Quilts. It was wonderful. I am unable to attend these kind of shows anymore. However. I still manage to stitch as much as possible. Thank you for sharing those wonderful quilts. 😊

The best surprise was your discovery of a thimble that fits you perfectly for the first time! A special piece like that can refresh the spirit, inspire, renew purpose. I enjoyed seeing all the treasures you brought home. I live in the US, too expensive for me to attend.❤

Love the fabric in a box and of course your thimble, that thimble is outstanding silver work and it fits you, wow, what a stunning birthday gift. It was my first quilt show, I traveled from Essex with my partner who took me as a gift, he knows I love, The last homely house, with Kate on TH-cam. He didn’t say but I knew, he thought he wouldn’t be interested and he was doing it for me…but surprise, surprise, he loved it, loved it so much, he was showing me sewing machines this morning and he thinks we should get one…..so the whole show was a wonderful, eye opening day for both of us. I am a crafter, cards, journaling, mixed media …. but I do think I will be adding needle craft to my list of things I love to do. I did an English paper piecing class and enjoyed it ,seeing a snippet of your class made me wish I had done that too, oh well, there’s always next year. Thank you Emma, I’ve not been to the show for a few years. Back in the day it was heaving on all three days, nowhere to sit and you could hardly get a look in at the stalls. You picked the right day as everyone had space to browse. The Quilt exhibition is always fantastic. Wow the talent that is out there. Love your purchases and it is nice to showcase small businesses. Twenty years ago I saw a silver thimble for £6 and that was a lot at the time. I got my purse out and the stall holder said it was a bargain at £60 but I embarrassingly put my purse away. That’s my thimble story. I love yours, it is beautiful, no wonder you love it. I do too. Tfs
I remember it being so busy like that in the past, they’ve spread it out over three halls now and provided a lot more seating so it feels much better. £60 for a thimble is definitely a lot when you thought it would be £6, I hope you find the perfect one one day. Thank you for watching 🌸
@@emmajonesvintagesewingbox I'm glad to hear it's not too crowded now. I'm disabled and need to rest on seats, and I need to get my walker up to the stalls.
Thankyou for sharing such a lovely quilt show.... your thimble is absolutely beautiful and I love your pick and mix fat 8th boxed set of fabrics, wished I lived in the UK...... Cheers Sue
I’m in the US and this was lovely to see. I live near Lancaster PA which is Amish country and there are lots of good fabric stores and places to buy quilts and supplies.
First time seeing your podcast. So lovely. I haven’t quilt in a few years. Picked up knitting during the pandemic. So inspirational. Thanks for sharing
Thank you for showing us. That thimble is a heirloom piece! I have my grandmothers silver thimble, much too big for me. I padded it inside with moleskin and I can use it. Ah, but to have a bespoke one!!! That would bring a smile from ear to ear!
I figured it would be a good investment as I will use it every day, I think a thimble is as important to a hand sewer as a machine is to a machine sewer. Hope you can get one too 🌸
I love your videos, thank you for sharing. I loved the “sewing box kit you got…. Would love to have one too. If you could point me in the right direction so I can get one that would be wonderful..😊
Thank you so so much for the you tube I couldn’t make this year due to health 😢so it was so lovely to go round it with you it looked fantastic and your workshop looked busy too..and I am already going to get a plan for next year. Loved your thimble very special. Used Oh So Sweet for a long time lovely company. Thanks again Jan
Loved to watch you explain all about the show you did a wonderful job, I will try next year to attend Show and perhaps run into you there! You are so sweet, keep videos coming 🙏
Fabulous video of something I knew nothing about before- definitely inspired me to give quilting and embroidery a ho, thank you. I will be catching up on other videos -Louise and Emily ❤
First time to your channel. Britain's Festival of Quilts is on my bucket list. Your video was inspiring. My favorite was the Sunbonnet Sue one. Love the thimble you chose. I haven't been to a large US quilt show since before the pandemic and miss seeing tnise vendors. Ordering online is not as inspiriing. Am now subscribed. Thank you for the trip to the quilt show and about your purchases.
I just had to tell you how much I enjoyed your video. I am new to quilting and have learned so much. I'm grateful that I have learned so much from you! I so enjoyed seeing the quilt show with you. I would love to go and would certainly say hello was I so blessed. Unfortunately, I live in Japan and going of the England is just not in the cards right now. But know that you have a devoted fan over here! Thanks again!
Largely thanks to you, I just made my first EPP hexie flower this week using scrap fabric! I've been quilting for half my life already but never tried EPP before now. I plan to make a baby quilt for my niece. I love your videos.
So much respect is due to the creators of those wonderful award winning quilts. I have made hand stitched quilts for my grandchildren and know how much work goes in, from choosing a design , choosing fabric, cutting out etc etc etc. These quilts deserve to be in a high end art gallery. When you consider the huge amounts of money some so called art attracts quilters are a hidden section of the art world. ( A lot of art is not actually done by the artist but by minions in a studio - not through hard work and bloodied finger ends!) Love the thimble - I struggle to find one that does not go flying off. I wear mine on my ring finger and as I have small hands anyway it’s a problem - but I have partly resolved that by lining the thimble with micropore tape, easily replaced when needed. Thanks for this.
Merci beaucoup Emma. Great video on The Festival of Quilts this year. I love Cotonpatch fabrics they have such a large choice of the type of fabrics that I prefer & the Wonderfil stand was gorgeous ! It must be VERY hard controlling spending whilst at the festival. Hope you're having a lovely summer ma belle.
Thank you for the wonderful quilt show! I only wish I could have been there too. I would have. I would have taken your class and we would have had a lovely chat. Great video!
Wow, it looked like you had a brilliant weekend, your workshop looked so inviting, we were away in Derby so I couldn't make it this yr, hopefully I will next yr and if your there I,ll join your workshop. I loved your video and to see all the beautiful quilts was so lovely, also what a fabulous Thimble you have purchased, it's so good to have a really fab purchase, we all deserve it now and then. Also the video has given me more inspiration to do more stitching especially EPPs, I will watch that again one evening soon, Thankyou once again, take care enjoy all your stitching as I will enjoy mine . Thank you Emma for showing around the uk quilt show. I follow you from Brisbane Australia. As an expat I enjoy your channel and have bought and used your patterns over and over again. Shame I can’t do one of your classes in person
Beautiful Emma. I hope to get to go Next Year plenty of time for me to save up and it would be lovely to meet you and take one of your class's. Love what you purchased. and the thimble is certainly a treasured gem for you. So nice of Hubster to purchase something you really wanted. Love everything, those Threads are gorgeous. I go places alone I dont have a family it's just me and to go to any place I always chat with someone. I am not lonely it's how life is with me I can do nothing about it. What is a shame that I can not come home to tell my family or my husband how my day went it's just me and my pets who I chat with a lot. Great video bless you love sewing I want to start quilting it's a beautiful thing to do.
Thankyou for sharing your wonderful experience, we have very few shows like this in Australia. The work I saw was just wonderful and mind blowing. I’m in awe. Thanks somuch. I’ve now subscribed to your channel. ❤️🇦🇺
You've met your thimble soulmate ☺ Thank you for the video, I was in two minds about whether to go or not but seeing your video helped me assuage the FOMO a bit. Maybe next year...
Thank you so much for the wonderful trip. You film so well that I feel as though I had time to actually look at the quilts before you moved to the next one. I don’t get to get out in crowds much anymore so I haven’t been to a quilt festival in a really long time. That packet of fabric you purchased was huge even it they were just fat eighths. For epp that will give a nice variety. Take care until next time.
I honestly think its better than the US, idea wise. The US seems to concentrate on a few designers’ ideas and its the same old same old. Going to try to look these up on the internet to see if they ship to the US. Again, excellent video Emma 💕

I loved hearing about your thimble selection experience. It sounded like a trip to Ollivanders.
It was! Thanks so much for watching
Thanks a lot for a lovely tour of the show .
Glad you enjoyed it
Thankyou for sharing such a lovely quilt show.... your thimble is absolutely beautiful and I love your pick and mix fat 8th boxed set of fabrics, wished I lived in the UK......
Cheers Sue
thank you Sue
That thimble is a beautiful work of art, what a wonderful special find and memory you will have of finding it and enjoyment using it :)
Yes, it will always have a lovely memory attached to it. Thanks so much for watching
I’m in the US and this was lovely to see. I live near Lancaster PA which is Amish country and there are lots of good fabric stores and places to buy quilts and supplies.
So beautiful, thanks for sharing.
First time seeing your podcast. So lovely. I haven’t quilt in a few years. Picked up knitting during the pandemic. So inspirational. Thanks for sharing
thanks you so much Wendy
Thank you for showing us. That thimble is a heirloom piece! I have my grandmothers silver thimble, much too big for me. I padded it inside with moleskin and I can use it. Ah, but to have a bespoke one!!! That would bring a smile from ear to ear!
Thank you so much Sharon, padding it is a great idea 😊🌸
Girrrl....i know what you spent on that thimble 😂 now i want 1 too!! It's beautiful!!!
Thank you. Yes it’s from oh sew sweet and I linked their shop in the description of the video 😊🌸

My pleasure 😊
Stunning. Thank you for sharing.
You are so welcome!
Fabulous video of something I knew nothing about before- definitely inspired me to give quilting and embroidery a ho, thank you. I will be catching up on other videos -Louise and Emily ❤
Oh that’s lovely; I’m so happy you liked the video 🌸
First time to your channel. Britain's Festival of Quilts is on my bucket list. Your video was inspiring. My favorite was the Sunbonnet Sue one.
Love the thimble you chose. I haven't been to a large US quilt show since before the pandemic and miss seeing tnise vendors. Ordering online is not as inspiriing. Am now subscribed. Thank you for the trip to the quilt show and about your purchases.
Thanks so much for watching and subscribing, really means a lot to me. Hope you can visit one day 🌸
Thank you So much for this video. Being disabled, attendance is impossible, so this gave a lovely flavour of what was available. You've made my day!
I am so glad you enjoyed the video!
Thanks again!
oh that is so lovely! thank you ever so much for such kind words
Largely thanks to you, I just made my first EPP hexie flower this week using scrap fabric! I've been quilting for half my life already but never tried EPP before now. I plan to make a baby quilt for my niece. I love your videos.
oh that is so lovely! thanks for watching, have fun making the quilt
( A lot of art is not actually done by the artist but by minions in a studio - not through hard work and bloodied finger ends!)
Love the thimble - I struggle to find one that does not go flying off. I wear mine on my ring finger and as I have small hands anyway it’s a problem - but I have partly resolved that by lining the thimble with micropore tape, easily replaced when needed. Thanks for this.
Thanks for the thimble information. I live in Flordia,USA and have been looking for a thimble a long time too. Enjoy your blog a lot.
Glad it was helpful!
The quilt show in my town is every other year so I really enjoyed watching this as I won't get to see one until next year. Thanks for doing this 😊
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching
I would LOVE to go!!! Such inspiration!!!! Thank you for sharing!!
You are so welcome!
I’m so happy you liked the video! I hope you are having a lovely summer too 🌸
so many beautiful things xx
Thank you for the wonderful quilt show! I only wish I could have been there too. I would have. I would have taken your class and we would have had a lovely chat. Great video!
oh that would have been lovely, maybe next time.
Love the sweet treats I see cute teapots
Wow, it looked like you had a brilliant weekend, your workshop looked so inviting, we were away in Derby so I couldn't make it this yr, hopefully I will next yr and if your there I,ll join your workshop. Elizabeth T
Thank you so much Elizabeth, I hope you can make it next year 🌸
Thank you Emma for showing around the uk quilt show. I follow you from Brisbane Australia. As an expat I enjoy your channel and have bought and used your patterns over and over again. Shame I can’t do one of your classes in person
oh that is so lovely to hear, thank you so much for buying my patterns Yolanda
TFS….Love your purchases ❤ I attended a Festival of Quilts in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada 🇨🇦 a few years back. Can’t wait to see what you make 😊
Thanks for watching!
Sending Hugs from NZ xx
Oh I hope you can come, would be lovely to meet you! Thanks so much for watching 🌸
I went to the show for the first time and thought it was fabulous. There were so many beautiful quilts. Loved it.
Thank you Pamela, pets are such an important part of our lives aren’t they, I chat to my cat too. Take care
Thanks for sharing 😊🦘
Thanks for watching!
Great video, and so glad you got your bespoke thimble!
thank you!
Thankyou for sharing your wonderful experience, we have very few shows like this in Australia. The work I saw was just wonderful and mind blowing. I’m in awe. Thanks somuch. I’ve now subscribed to your channel. ❤️🇦🇺
Thanks so much for subscribing, I really appreciate it 🌸
I am booked to go to this show next year from Australia. Thanks for the great look at the Festival of quilts.
That is super exciting!
You've met your thimble soulmate ☺ Thank you for the video, I was in two minds about whether to go or not but seeing your video helped me assuage the FOMO a bit. Maybe next year...
Soulmate is a great way of putting it! I hope you can make it next year 🌸
Thank you so much for the wonderful trip.
Take care until next time.
thanks so so much Karen
I honestly think its better than the US, idea wise. The US seems to concentrate on a few designers’ ideas and its the same old same old. Going to try to look these up on the internet to see if they ship to the US. Again, excellent video Emma 💕
Amazing tour, thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it
So many beautiful quilts! I always have to go to quilting events alone because I don’t have a quilting buddy or family member. It doesn’t stop me from going though, as I’m an introvert! 😉
thank you for watching, glad you can enjoy shows too
Thanks for video must go next time
