Tip from a friend, the weapon dance rune, while active, actually makes your bandaging even better. So say you heal for 2.5k per second with your bandage, pop weapon dance before healing and it'll go to like 2.8-2.9k as the bandage heal is based on max health.
S rank doesn't always mean much. When I play poleaxe or LS, I get S 90% of the time just because I take a looot of damage and I'm always on points so it boost your global score by a lot

Even though I only have 5 days in the game I'm completely destroying players who have been playing since the Beta and early versions of this game but that's only because I have put in the time and effort to learn my class but however I'm 100% sure them players have been holding back or something seem they know im the new kid on the server who happens to be apart of the most aggressive PvP house on the server. I still have a hell of alot to learn on how to play poleaxe even though it got buffed it is a quite difficult class to master. The things I have noticed about poleaxe is that the skills don't really last to long I'm pretty sure they only last about 5 seconds before disappearing and I find that to be really silly seem there are other classes that use the same heavy armour that deal more damage and have longer skill duration. I think some of the skills such as Billhook and Weapon Dance should have at least 10 seconds duration instead of 5 seconds or 6 seconds based on the fact that the poleaxe weapon is a very slow weapon to swing. I also think that the Weapon Dance AOE should be a little bigger because it's quite small for a support skill that only lasts 5 seconds. Now yes if you use the Weapon Dance Rune you can heal yourself for I think 20% of ur maximum health that's fantastic but I just feel like its a waste of a skill seem in a actual match weapon dance will let you down 9/10.
Yeah its some good points, bec corbin is really the only skill that has a decent duration with its 3 swings. yes weapon dance as an ability basically has no purpose, I pretty much only use it for the heal, yes it is sort of a waste of a skill slot but the heal seems worth it in my opinion, really helps keep me alive :D

Weapon Dance also reduced the damage enemies it hits deal for 5 seconds. 40%! Thats actually insane. If you see a db charge at you and you get off your Weapon dance before you can easily reduce their entire ult + stealth slash combo on you by 40%, meaning you'll most likely not die.
Try using the gold rune w/ skills Pushback, billhook, Bec De Corbin, Ultimate. You basic attack to get 5 seconds immunity so you can 1 sprinting poke, into single basic attack then get full bec de corbin in without any risk of being CCed. If you are full armor build this will rip down any unit and catch most nodachi/shortsword/musket who crutch on their knockdowns and dont expect immunity. Once you have them to half they will try to roll out and you can finish with ultimate/pushback
Lochaber Strike is hands down the better ult for poleaxe since then you have enough dmg to fully stunkill an opponent combined that you use your other skills correctly
Agreed, it also has many more uses other than just chasing a hero down. In team fights especially, knocking down multiple enemies with one move is wonderful.

Bec de Corbin has a limit on how many units can be hit by it right? I always felt like I should be doing more when swinging into a large cluster of units. Also regarding ults, Rough Justice offers crazy good CC, second only to the totally stupid maul grab. Great for duels (guarantees all hits of bec de corbin if cancelled early) as well as for ganks or unit roflstomps (trip em up, charge unit through or throw javs).
I also switched back to the Poleaxe after finding out how effective the weapon dance rune is. Initially I went all toughness and used other runes to raise HP - since the heal bonus was % based ... But I just didn't like it. I felt like I was still dying too easy. Without having calculated anything, I think the defensive bonuses of whatever the defensive stat is called outweigh the greater hitpoints of toughness. I am not sure how damage is calculated in this game - damage/penetration vs armor but I would wager that with a significant defensive difference, the amount of damage you receive scales down to negligible. So I'm thinking high toughness made more things able to hurt me at a moderate damage rate, which offset the HP bonus.
I always struggle with poleaxe, you either fight shield units that you struggle with or you fight cav you can't do anything about. It fully relies on the enemy players over extending it seems.
try weapon dance with 2 pieces of fearless paladin..80 % reduced damage for 5 sec...you know the push power that skill will have even if the aoe debuff is small.
i personally prefer the second ultimate yes a hero can escape sometimes but each of your hits knockback wish is perfect if you are attacked by multiple heroes you are going to knockback all of them if they dont pay attention, but my pole axe build is focused in hero control, so i kinda need other peoples to do damages for me
alwas used poleaxe in DM ... usually you die a few times (getting focussed down by enemies because they hate the cc's ... BUT nowadays i have many dm's that i dont even die once. ow ... rough justice all the way ... you really start looking for spears or dualblades ;) then just use youre "homing missile"
Go into settings. There is a strange mechanic in this game that either sprint or roll has to be controlled by double tapping a directional key. Change that setting to sprint, then bind roll to a key that is very easy to press while moving. I use a side mouse button. This allows you to roll without delay and you can more easily get the exact direction you want without having to double tap diagonally. I've heard the game doesn't update your position for hit registration until the roll is over so if that's true then that would explain getting hit when mid roll when they slam your original position

And hey, it was with a Poleaxe so hope that helps haha. I use poleaxe because my lad said it was better in 1v1s than the long sword I used to use. My favourite weapon easily now for all the reasons you list. I dont use weapon dance though, will give it a go.
well, I used poleaxe some times these days just for cc the damn maul. and why the devs ignore us about maul? this is very annoying 😩 my fevorite weapon longsword can do nothing vs maul while he kill my units, and how he can grab me with my big shield -_- if you can message the devs, tell them to stop this vandalism.
get gud, Ls has a lot of CC, and while it doesn't have the dmg to kill a maul, it can knock down a maul for a really long time while your units kill him. Maul damage is incredibly nerfed if you compare it to something like glaive for example, it just has a lot of block break (that he shouldnt be able to apply since you can knock him down with shield charge) . about the grab... yeah, everyone hates it XD. So don't blame the devs or the maul for your lack of skill.
I think they should buff the ability "Weapon Dance" the only reason it's used is because of the rune. Take away the run and it might literally be the worst ability in the game

It's interesting that you wouldn't want to focus on strength for a dps class.
I think ultimately poleaxe isn't a dps class, its about CC and control but the damage compared to something like a glaive is pretty low

Get your def up to 1000 then put rest in thoughness. Seems to give the best results for me.
Always love the poleaxe and CCing people to death. My teammates love me too lol.
