Colin having watched your cat tutorial i have just did my first attempt at using pastels and im so pleased with my effort as only started art 2 mths ago and didnt know i had it in me. Your tutorial inspired me so much to try this and i thank you for that. How can i send you a picture of what i have done? And once again thank you for sharing your tutorials as they are fantastic :))
JW AL The first layer is applied lightly so as not to ‘crush’ the paper and then lightly blended, this allows more colours to be added on top. Thank you for your kind feedback.

Problem with neck/chest on the mare, on a horse, the neck is set into the chest at an angle, it does not run straight down into the chest.
