Today we talk about hunting with a good friend of mine, Wolfgang. He shares some spectacular rifles from his collection including a brand-new Heym SR21, a Winchester Model 70 Super Grade, and a Weatherby Mark V. Wolfgang has a wealth of knowledge about guns and many hunting stories to inspire and motivate you to get out in the wilderness with your favorite rifle. Wolfgang seems like a swell guy. It's always good to see a fellow German-turned-British Columbian.
I'm definitely in agreement with his opinion on aesthetics. A good rifle turns into a great rifle when you can appreciate the little details that went into it.

What a great pleasure to see wonderful guns and hear the hunting stories shared between two refined Gentlemen. I especially appreciated the story that Wolfgang shared about the doves, which for me highlighted the value of hunting as a thoughtful and measured endeavour - not simply trying to rack up hits. I also liked hearing about the man who was able to buy back his farm after reunification (and the Polish Woman of the kitchen!)
Thank You both for sharing the moments.

I greatly appreciated your guest Wolfgang. I always enjoy listening to the stories and adventures of other hunters. I totally agree with his philosophy of the aesthetics of the rifles. I have a 7x57 FN Mauser made for the Venezuelan military that my father and I did a restock and sporterize on back in the 60s when I was in high school. I still treasure it today.

Hi Gary - Wish I could see that stock. For sure hunting rifles and shotguns are quite different from hammers and other tools. Every hunter deserves a fine rifle and shotgun with decent wood - something to be proud of and pass on to the next generation. IMHO Take care Gary.

@@UnitedStatesOfGuns it is just a standard grade walnut Monte Carlo from Rienhart Fajen. We did the stock in 1966 and I finished with the scope and reworked bolt handle a few years later. It is a short barreled carbine rifle and is very handy for brush hunting and tree stands for deer here in Oklahoma. Thank you for your reply and interest.

I walked out with a 1905 model 94 saddle ring carbine in 30 W.C.F.. the stars aligned again.. because just a couple months back after a few years of searching I finally found a model 1920/26 sav in 250-3000 with its lyman 54 attached and that completed my model 1920 sav collection for now. I once had to take the rifle from a hunting companions hands which was not a pleasnt thing to do. You learn things about people while hunting mostly good things however now and then we get surprised. I must admit I do prefer to hunt alone I find a man needs to be alone now and then for a while to go over whats important and whats not. Great vid .cheers.
