Religion can be honey for the soul ....but acts like poison when injected into the social fabric ,mixed with politics.Hindustani suffered the consequences.A beautiful language like Urdu has been dragged and tainted by religion and divorced from its roots. Not for nothing that Josh Miliabadi said that Urdu will be murdered in India and commit suicide in Pakistan. Perhaps Bollywood is the saviour.
Loved your vlog and scientific approach towards the language.

His analysis is fake and pointless. Don't believe in him and if needed research on the topic yourself.

@parjanyashukla176 what's your credibility to state such a strong statement for a scholar his level?

My credibility is my consistent studies in linguistics, especially that of Indic languages for over 20+ years. My grandfather as well as my uncles are/were Sanskrit scholars.
Mr Tariq Rehman's viewpoints on this issue are somewhat genuine, and his views also appreciated, however his research is mostly secondary and lacks depth. From his speeches it's pretty apparent that he is completely unaware of texts written in Indic scripts such as Devanagari or Kaithi of the Hindi belt during the Islamic period, nor does he know much about Braj Bhasha or Awadhi which are the two main dialects which contributed to the development of Hindi-Urdu (or medieval Hindavi).
Hindi-Urdu doesn't have an isolated existence - it's basically one of the axial or stabilizer dialects of the broader North Indic dialect world.

Please correct the title to reflect correct spellings of Dr Rahman's name.
That said it is one of the most incisive analysis of politics of language in subcontinent. Thanks a bunch for that

Te commonality between hindi and urdu is prakrit, detived purely from Sanskrit
So, technically what you call hindi is purely an indian language where as urdu is primarily a perso arabic dialect.
