I’ve already lost interest in Yellowstone. It’s been too long. We loved Chapter One of Horizon and we are anxious to see Chapter Two-can’t wait! We are hoping to see it in the theater, but will view on any platform. We applaud Mr. Costner for keeping westerns and our American History alive. Bravo! It’s important for our youth to understand the struggles our ancestors faced in building this country. Sadly, much of our youth take things for granted.

Now that Horizon flopped and has been cancelled, Kevin ended up having this whole year off and was free to shoot an ending for John Dutton after all. So he quit the show for nothing.

There's a disturbing trend among TH-cam reviewers (not this one.) Movies are judged on how much money they make and their run time. I'm a movie lover and don't give a time what the bank is or how long the run time as long as it is justified by the story. I was mesmerized by Chapter One and really looking forward to 2, when shown in theaters. Let the Tic Tokers with their minuscule attention spans worry about run time and the Nerdrotic money changers critically drink themselves to death, See what I did there?
It's Still the Movie BUSINESS. It's not practical to keep making flicks like Horizon that LOSE $100 Million. And theater owners don't like it either because they want to sell tickets, popcorn and sodas. And they can't do that when Nobody show up.

Today's movie goers are one of the huge reasons why today's movies are struggling.........As movie goers have ZERO patience and want to be spoon fed and entertained to the point of ruining any chance of a great storytelling movie to become a reality.

Many viewers have no patience to wait, watch and enjoy the journey of the story. As well, since Covid people have become "cave dwellers" staying home with their big screens. And… there is the budgetary constraints keeping people away as well. I’m there for all four Horizons, love the big screen experience.

I threw as much money at this as I could , as I love westerns and want more of them . It’s a remarkably beautiful film , showcasing the west in a way that old westerns just don’t. Hopefully this gets all 4 chapters.

The problem today is instant gratification. This is a lesson in history of the struggles settling the west between the tribal cultures, settlers, and bad men who had no scruples. I look forward to hopefully the full series.
I have been to Kevin Costner fan literally my whole life. I enjoyed the hell out of the first installment on the big screen intend to buy it when it comes to physical media. I hope all four chapters get a big screen release if they want to put it on streaming two as well for the folks that don’t want to go to the theater that’s fine, but I hope something turns around and makes money back on this because it’s a great movie!

I Saw it in the Theater and Loved it. I love the Western genre of films. Costner's to me are some of the very best. I'm looking forward to part 2 of Horizon and hoping 3 & 4 are not far behind. In fact if Kevin has enough left in the tank. I wouldn't mind seeing him do a remake of The Shootist! He would own that Character and after seeing his son in Horizon he could easily play the role that Ron Howard played.... Just Saying.
I disagree with the critics and I believe them to be mean spirited in their reviews. I loved Horizon on the big screen having seen it twice. It is an epic western story with compelling sub plots. The characters and the acting are fantastic. Im an avid movie goer and a huge fan of the western genre. This film delivered and I am waiting for the sequel. I have lots of friends and family who agree with me and I can’t help feeling that the critics are envious of Costner, his fame, his passion, and this project. I hope Costner reads this as there are fans that appreciate his work!

The fact that the movie did not receive the box office results expected shows that people nowadays have no taste in watching quality productions anymore. The dialogue, the pace, the script and acting are way above the last cinematic success from the past few years - Top Gun 2, although different genre nevertheless true.
Can't wait for Chapter 2. Fantastic story line. Saw Chapter 1 at theater and lot of people came and went for refreshments, thus missing critical parts. This is a movie you must stay focused on to truly appreciate it in it's entirety
I was a little skeptical of watching this at first, didn't think it was going to be any good due to trying to make a Western in today's cultural crybaby standers, but I have to say Kevin nailed it!! Very authentic and beautiful storylines and Kevin Costner still a f*#% badass!!
Honey, I'd sit in hot coals to watch the second movie. I saw the first one and there is nothing like seeing this movie on a huge screen, it is absolutely a beautiful movie.What folks don't understand is it took Lonesome Dove a minute to get going also and it is a 4 parter, and it is watched faithfully still over and over and over by fans.This 4 part movie will also be carried by true western fans. We will pay to see it on stream in the theaters and box sets. Thank goodness Kevin has the balls to make this kind of movie instead of another Barbie.
HORIZON is epic, and already a classic. These movies will have legs and will go on making money in all formats. We know that the big screen cinema releases are dominated by the 15-25 year-olds demographic and that this group has no affinity for Westerns but HORIZON will do well in all other formats like streaming, cable, television, and disk.

I though the first movie was really good, excellent actors. I think the summer released date was not the best. Kids are out of school, families on vacation, movies are not a priority. With that being said, I am really looking forward to Part 2 and I hope all parts are filmed. Look a Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns, how much money have they made over the years.. All must see movies and still have a large following. Please keep Horizon going!!!!

I thought that chapter 1 was excellent/great! It was very well written as well as the action was good. It’s a touch long i guess but 3 hours in a theatre was fine for me! I enjoyed it greatly! The only problem I have is now that I’m vested, I’m left waiting for chapter 2, let alone 3 + 4 Hope it lands somewhere like Netflix or Hulu so I can watch the rest!

Taylor Sheridan has so many good shows out, in fact so many that he takes too long between seasons which makes it easy to lose interest. I think the reason this film is getting backlash is because instead of feeling like a film it did come off as if I was watching a long series on TV. The scenes were very long and overly drawn out when they didn't need to be. With that being said, he put his own money into these series of films and I firmly stand behind & respect him for that. I seen seen chapter 1 in theaters and I plan to see the rest in theaters being it is his passion project and he has already brought much joy into the home of viewers....so why not give him just a little bit more of your time when he really needs it the most. The world needs more directors like Costner and Francis Ford Coppola who are having movies coming out this September in which they spent well over the 100 million in just their own money to make.

I liked Horizon chapter 1 a lot. I thought that the story was genuine, especially from the Indian side. OK, it might be long, many characters to follow, but it's an exercice in drawing an Amarica epic in all its aspects. I liked it and I want to see chapter 2. Maybe people were expecting a Dances with Wolves or Yellowstone movie. And it's clearly not. I think Kevin Costner chose to tell all he could about the epic. That includes lots of characters and lots of stories to follow, taking the time needed to.
Stay with Yellowstone. WE could keep up in Horizons we love Kevin movies but when we went to the movie to see it it was hard to flow .We do love Yellowstone keep up the good work Kevin

I wish he would concentrate on 2 or 3 before starting 2 or 3 new shows. Too many irons in the fire. I am looking forward to the other episodes of Horizon, first one was better than I expected.
after all the neg. talk, went ahead and bought it. Loved it and hope for a soon release. I worked as a western stunt man in my early days so guess I am partial, none can ever defeat Lonesome dove, but right up there with 1883, the searchers, Tombstone and Dances with Wolves, maybe Once upon a time in the West. Hostiles well worth the mention.🐎🐎😎😎🐴🐴
I will be happy if the story continues through to the end of the 4th movie that first 3 hours felt like an hour for me it was very enjoyable.
I think the reason this film is getting backlash is because instead of feeling like a film it did come off as if I was watching a long series on TV. The scenes were very long and overly drawn out when they didn't need to be. With that being said, he put his own money into these series of films and I firmly stand behind & respect him for that. I seen seen chapter 1 in theaters and I plan to see the rest in theaters being it is his passion project and he has already brought much joy into the home of viewers....so why not give him just a little bit more of your time when he really needs it the most. The world needs more directors like Costner and Francis Ford Coppola who are having movies coming out this September in which they spent well over the 100 million in just their own money to make.

The characters are the biggest thing lacking in the first movie. That being said I want to see more.
I had a little trouble with so many plots lines, but I liked it. I'm anxious to see more and hope it will develop into Chapters 3, 4 and beyond.

Soooo I put chapter one just to put something to watch and daaaaaaanggg didn’t even realize it was 3 hours long it was so good I loved it I didn’t even notice the time pass by ! This is def for people who love western and have an attention span lol beautiful story telling and all the acting cmon 10/10!!! MASTERPIECE
I was so looking forward to seeing Horizon Chapter 2 in August for my birthday. I saw chapter 1 in July. Needless to say it is October and I am still waiting and hoping to see it soon.

Horizon American Saga is no Tombstone but still it is enjoyable to watch.

I liked Horizon chapter 1 a lot. I thought that the story was genuine, especially from the Indian side. OK, it might be long, many characters to follow, but it's an exercice in drawing an Amarica epic in all its aspects. I liked it and I want to see chapter 2. Maybe people were expecting a Dances with Wolves or Yellowstone movie. And it's clearly not. I think Kevin Costner chose to tell all he could about the epic. That includes lots of characters and lots of stories to follow, taking the time needed to.
Stay with Yellowstone. WE could keep up in Horizons we love Kevin movies but when we went to the movie to see it it was hard to flow .We do love Yellowstone keep up the good work Kevin
