A homeless lady in my hometown won the lottery years ago. She ended up buying herself a van to live in and better her life but still lived very humbly. I feel like winning big can either make or break you.
I used to work at a gas station and there was this guy who would come in a few times a day and get scratchers. He played a lot! He ended up winning a million dollars and came back and gifted everyone that worked in the store $400 each! It was so nice of him and we were all really greatful! I still see him around town! As far as the money being spent on the lottery going to schools and roads, that's usually only for rich areas. I live in an Urban area with bad roads and I went to an Urban school that didn't see remodel like ever and I believe that people in Urban areas spend the most on the lottery 😞😔
Schools are fictional. Do you think and act like youre a fictional thing, such as a citizen, in a fictional place, such as a country, who does fictional things like help yourself/others? I ask because to make and keep human slaves, that are marketed as citizens, all life and resource needs to be wasted.

The first thing i would do it get a money manager. Then set up each of my kids a trust fund and then buy a small home in texas big enough to keep all my kids together the rest i dont care. I just want to be ok.
My husband once won $1000 so we had to go to the lottery office to cash it in, and while there I overheard a guy telling at least three people on the phone that he was “not gonna waste it all like the last time.” I like to hope he didn’t, but considering he was telling everyone and their brother and was promising people money before he even got the check, I also kinda doubt it. Don’t know how much it was (more than $600 but less than $1m), but you’d think he hit the powerball.
We all think it would be great to hit the lottery and not have to worry financially, but the battle becomes who are your true friends and becoming a target. Thanks for sharing Bailey.
Unfortunately here in Georgia you are required to publicly announce. I think that's crazy and I don't understand the reason for such a thing. You should be able to claim your winnings without all the publicity. 😮

My guess is once the lottery started being set up by private companies instead of the government, the extra money that didn’t go to the winner(s) went to the CEO and other employees. It’s paycheck money instead of community improvement money now.

Would love to see Bailey talk about Niagara Falls, NY. There is an area known as Love Canal where thousands of pounds of toxic waste were dumped in the 40/50s; homes and a school were built on it. THAT'S what's odd. The sentiment. The reason. Doing what you want to with your own money to enjoy life, that's never odd. Hoarding it in the bed until you're weeks from death, then saying that? A bit...odd.
@@haley2408 Back in the day women couldn't have their own bank accounts. Not until the year I was born, 1974, were women in the US allowed to have a bank account that a man wasn't signed onto, and he could take all her money if he wanted to. I'm sure it happened plenty of times.
I got my Melt Cosmetics x Bailey Sarian full collab today! I’m so happy. I get to watch Bailey and use the makeup she created!!! And, this bag is awesome. ❤
@@bunk95 I'm not sure about you but I do live in a real world where people struggle to make ends meet and things are horrible. My comment was to make something very clear about money being made from the lottery and where it goes, so before you comment smart remarks such as your "fictional" bit maybe just try and think about if the person who clearly said they live in an urban area, maybe knows a little bit about what they're talking about. Kay? 🙃👏🏽💯
@@vannaa6851 no they do not. Humans are abused and/or tortured and/or killed and some behavior is marketed as struggling to make ends meet. Do you think a slaves life isn’t completely preplanned on a subatomic level because you were told…reminded more frequently?
@@bunk95Idk what you’re talking about but I’m 99.9% sure it’s completely irrelevant to OPs comment, cuz your comment literally looks like you just kept clicking the middle word on text prediction.

Speaking of the American dream, congratulations on the Melt collaboration!
Bailey could you please look into social security there has to be a dark history somewhere on it I was thinking that they would have to reuse social security numbers when people die and apparently not PLEASE do a dark history in this !!!!!
i love watching bailey’s videos while i’m being productive 😩
Me tooooo!
Sameeeee!!! ❤
Same.
Me bc I only ever get my laundry folded/put away while listening to Bailey lol
Glad to be here watching Bailey with you all ❤❤❤ hope everyone has a great day 💓💓💓😊
"Being rich is a curse" the real curse is getting cancer and losing ALL of your savings to hospital bills.
More like getting cancer and not even having a savings to pay for hospital bills.

I don't play the lottery. I watched my dad play it for years and never won a thing. The amount if money he spent on the lottery, he could have been a millionaire from the money he spent. Love your Dark History videos.
I’m really becoming skeptic especially with new apps I after 6to nine buying I usually win $10 to $13 it is like computer algorithms that aim not to disappoint me 😅
Happy belated birthday, Bailey. I hope you had the most amazing day ❤
Hello Bailey! You've been a huge part of my life without even knowing it. Thank you for all you do, the education and bringing awareness to cases and history that have been forgotten. Much love! From Kansas ❤❤❤
@pattysniece I'm a KS Gal, too. Topeka. I found Bailey on TH-cam a few years ago. Dark History is great, too!
@@donnawheeler6283 I'm right here in Topeka too! Small world isn't it?

My Great graddad owned 3 bars during the depression plus prohibition lol he used to put his cash in glass jars and would bury them in the back yard and my great grandmother would plant a garden so no one knew anything 😅.
I always love to hear how much smarter people who would win the lottery are than people who actually do.
Not me. I'm 100% blowing every cent on my dream farm and cabin.

I once found a $50 scratch off ticket two separate times on the ground, but when I buy them nothing!
Unfortunately here in Georgia you are required to publicly announce. I think that's crazy and I don't understand the reason for such a thing. You should be able to claim your winnings without all the publicity. 😮
@theresataylor6675, if you ever win big money, set up a blind trust with a lawyer as the executor and the lawyer can legally represent you and you can stay anonymous.
Bailey: "I forget Delaware was a state. What do they even do there"
Delaware: 👀

I only remember all the states when I sing the fifty nifty United States song.

Did I listen to this already on Spotify, yes. Will I always watch the video version, also yes. ❤
I would like to take the challenge of the curse that comes with winning the lottery 🎉
Same 😂 I'm pretty cursed already (we have a bad luck curse in my family, it's insane) so I won't win anyways. We try sometimes though!

Bailey!!!!! Please do a Dark History on the dark side of beauty pageants. Love your show!!!
My partner's late father was born in the great depression. Unfortunately he passed in 2010 at the ripe young age of 95 years old. I would have loved to meet him and hear his experience growing up in the depression!
Jesus Christ your photo. 😂
Hi Bailey! So glad your videos come out before I go to work, so I can do my makeup and listen to you! You make my whole day! Thanks for being you.
So, who's still willing to try to win the lottery even though you might get the lottery curse!?! 🤔🎲
When you're poor and at risk of hunger and homelessness, the desperation is too great to consider other things. Financial security to get food and shelter over anything else.
Most I've won Is 75 dollars lol

I love all of Bailey’s sets, through the years MMM and DH it keeps changing but they are always great!
I love that they changed the set to have Bailey in an arm chair rather than behind a desk with the whole Dark History book schtick. This feels a lot more casual, cozy and personal, which is nice. Bailey’s stories should feel like having a casual chat with a friend IMO 😊
One of my childhood friend’s sister was struck twice by lightning a year apart on the same day. She’s written books and was on one of the Netflix shows that came out this year
I know exactly who you’re talking about! Crazy! Small world
Yay, it's Bailey! The woman who can make anything interesting! 😉😊💜
ok but seriously can you look into the funding of our schools from lottery vs taxes because it's a real head scratcher. Especially in this current climate where a certain group is actively trying to demolish public schools. Great video, keep it up🖤
My guess is once the lottery started being set up by private companies instead of the government, the extra money that didn’t go to the winner(s) went to the CEO and other employees. It’s paycheck money instead of community improvement money now.
Yay Thursday! When I see Bailey uploaded, I automatically click without even reading the title first 😊 Hope you had a great birthday Bailey! 🎉
I listen to you as I do my homework and when you said the biggest lottery one was 2.04. that was the number that showed up on my data list in my calculator!! spooky coincidence. Big fan thank you for getting me through my school days.
Sending love to ya Bailey!! ❤ Your Melt collab is GORGEOUS!!
Bailey, Plum Island! It’s right up your alley. It was a research facility here in the U.S. where they were testing diseases on animals. Some of the animals escaped and shortly after, an entire town next door came down with the known cases of Lyme disease. That’s right, the U.S. made Lyme disease, go us!
Baileys videos are my own medicine they are like a cigarette to me I love them they give me life

This is the best DH I think I’ve ever heard. It’s giving MMM vibes. I think Bailey was actually excited for this episode & it sounds like she’s the 1 who wrote it.

My maternal grandmother grew up during the depression and saved all of her nickels, dimes and pennies.. fortuitously some of us grandchildren knew enough about coins that we sorted them by year and did a enough research to know what to have evaluated... She did many other things that fortunately we were cognizant enough to not waste❤❤❤
Life in the dark library just feels better (and by better, I do mean worse (which, in this case, is better)).
Would love to see Bailey talk about Niagara Falls, NY. There is an area known as Love Canal where thousands of pounds of toxic waste were dumped in the 40/50s; homes and a school were built on it. So many people's health were affected and still are to this day. I believe they are still finding dump sites around NF.
Delaware in the house! What we do here is dodge beach traffic, holiday traffic, out of state tax free shoppers, and road work. Our state flower is a traffic barrel. You're welcome.😉
Please cover the dark history of residential schools!! You’ve touched on them in a few episodes. Most people don’t know that here in the U.S the last residential school wasn’t closed until 1994!

my other half won around $14,000 on a scratch off ticked many years ago. we used the money to get a new car since the one we had was totaled by a deer a few months prior. We didn't take the kids to CEC (chuck e cheese) because we were tired of that place since we had worked there at one time. lol
Deer are NO joke either 😳 one ran into my mom’s window and we found little pieces of deer hair and glass for like two years after, even after cleaning and vacuuming the car several times
