What I like about the city boss fight is how the audience characters are all unique, (most being callbacks or references) that even react to the fight itself. I just think that’s cool.

Just like some of the recent games, this game also has a Prequel Comic, in which explains why Fang is joining the gang this time, also the character bios on the official website also give some insight on that aswell, also mentioning some facts that are shown in the comic Basically, he's mad that Eggman abandoned him on the Atomic Destroyer back in Triple Trouble lol, the comic also shows Sonic and Tails bored because Eggman hasn't shown up in a while, and Knuckles watching some badniks passing through Angel Island but not targeting the Master Emerald, and notices Sonic and Tails flying with the Tornado following the badniks (a bit simillar to his intro in Superstars in that part), so he also goes in the Tornado along them, then they find out Eggman is going to Illusion Island Also, I love the characterization and animations even on the opening intro, with Sonic and Fang looking at each other, Sonic looking at Fang as if he's keeping an eye on him and Fang looking back bothered, Knuckles at the back of the Tornado just chillin' Only to Tails look at the island and then both Sonic and Fang also look at it, Sonic smiling at Tails pointing him to go at full speed, Fang rubbing his hands also ready to go at full speeds, Knuckles notices and opens his eyes shocked, flies away thanks to the speed but quickly glides and holds on the Tornado's tail as they blast off closer to the island, it's such a great cutscene lol
There are some more that are like these, a few artists understand the basics of an official Sonic character to make theirs Simple design, not overdesigned Simple shapes Only a few colors (most of the official characters have around 5 colors) Distinct shape design Unique Appealing A design (and name) which matches their abilities and personality etc. But yes, they are rare
The thing that’s interesting about this game is that some of the gimmicks are very similar to original gimmicks in the Sonic-inspired games Freedom Planet and Freedom Planet 2. Those two games are incredible by the way, I’d highly recommend them.
I beat Lilac's route back in 2017! Always meant to finish Carol. Never picked up the sequel but it looks fantastic. I haven't been into many Sonic-inspired games but that one hit the spot.

There's a wide variety of gorgeous, stylized Classic Sonic games but I think this one is the closest to the canon style. It deserves to be commended for that imo :)
Reminds me of Toei! It's typical to always compare Good Classic Sonic to the CD intro, but his face has enough detail to resemble his sass and it keeps his limb movements when parkouring.
SAGE and the Hacking Contest happened right before The Year Of Shadow really kicked off and then we got true comboed with Superstars DLC, Shadow Gens, comics, Mobile game updates, figures, Sonic 3 and THEN Galactic. My god lmao

People dog on IDW because they brought up the issue in the first place, thereby _making_ it an issue. We never asked before why Sonic doesn't just throw Eggman in prison, because before they brought it up, we assumed that he just couldn't, because Eggman always managed to get away. Now we hear that that's an option. He _can_ throw Eggman in prison, he just _chooses_ not to, and that's a problem.
I don't think Sonic ever said he doesn't throw Eggman in prison because he doesn't want, he just said everyone deserved a chance to be free, that's all it's clear that even in IDW, Sonic just doesn't care about what will happen to the villains afterwards, and he never really did, some of the villains he faced in IDW, after their fight, they ended up on prison and Sonic didn't try to free them or argue why they shouldn't be in prison, he just didn't care at all, and Eggman of course isn't going to prison because he always runs, flies away after exploding or Sonic goes away and let Eggman behind, with Eggman either just going away to have a new scheme or always surviving impossible odds And he was always like that, you don't see in any game Sonic after defeating a villain do anything, he doesn't care at all what happens to them AFTER their fight, if the people want to make them pay and go to prison, he'll not try to stop them, if it's someone like Eggman who always escapes and comes back, he'll just wait until the next time to fight him again, in Sonic Heroes for example, after defeating Metal Sonic he says he'll be waiting for a rematch and runs away, he doesn't do anything about him
So to make things short: He *can't* throw Eggman in prison, because Eggman will always find a way to escape, but it's not as if Sonic is interested in throwing anyone in prison or not, he never was, what will happen to them afterwards isn't of his business, he doesn't "choose not to" nor he chooses to do so, he simply doesn't give a single damn about them, if the people want to throw the villains at prison afterwards or not, or if they can escape prison or not, isn't of his interest

Eggman always escaping isn’t an in-universe constant, it’s a meta story decision so he can keep coming back. But for Sonic to acknowledge that story decision and just let Eggman keep getting away when he absolutely _can_ imprison him at the very least, is completely immoral. The fact that Sonic does not imprison Eggman after all he’s done makes him transparently a bad hero.

I really wish there was some kind of initiative from Sega to buy and license fangames. I think the biggest reason that might not happen is their current focus on lore unfortunately. While I love their current attention to that stuff, it would prevent a lot of potential profit and good times for the fans.

that first level you played reminds me a LOT of Sonic Advance's Neo Green Hill, love all the work and detail put into this demo
