Best documentary on LZ I have watched. Learned a lot. As with the classical composers today, two hundred years from Now LZ will remain. Much appreciated - Thanks!
50 years ago today, January 6, 1975, I went to the Sears department store in St David's, PA, West of Philadelphia and waited for Led Zeppelin tickets for the Physical Graffitti US tour leg starting in February ( Philadelphia : Feb 9th )
I think this is really a great documentary. Man, the amount of work puy into it, the research, hats off! Amazingly accurate, great comments by peopleike Dave Lewis and Mick Wall, people who know their Zeppelin, and not just some self appointed experts, one finds in other zep docu's. Awesome and many thanks for making this and posting this. Much appreciated 😊
Ow, I have to correct myself. So this is DVD one of a four DVD series, released in 2009. I guess I have to wait a bit for the third and fourth episodes. Anyway, thank for sharing😊 Cheers
Simple mistake in an interview he now probably regrets making. But yeah, Iron Butterfly's "In - A - Gadda - Da - Vida", just like a simply misspelling. After Led Zeppelin's first U.S. appearance opening for Vanilla Fudge on 12/26/68 in Denver, CO....they next played in Seattle, WA on Dec. 27, Vancouver, B.C. on Dec. 28, Portland, OR on Dec. 29, Spokane, WA on Dec. 30. On 01/01/69 Salem, OR Cancelled. Jan. 2, 3, 4, 5 at the Whiskey a Go Go in West Hollywood, CA These shows were with Vanilla Fudge, Spirit and Taj Mahal(any combo of these bands with Vanilla Fudge and Led Zeppelin the main stays) On January 9, 1969 Page's 26th birthday and continuing through the January 10th, 11th, 12th they were scheduled to open for the Iron Butterfly with Vanilla Fudge in-between them at the Fillmore West in San Francisco. After the first night on Jimmy's birthday, Page got an unexspected birthday present from Iron Butterfly, they refused to perform the next three shows do to the crowds reaction to Led Zeppelin. Not only that but Vanilla Fudge knew how much better this NEW BAND was that they suggested they open up and let Led Zeppelin be the Headliners. The rest is Rock and Roll History. 🎸🎤🎸🥁(And the "Train - Kept - A - Rollin', all night long, night after night after night for a very long time, in fact when 1969 ended Led Zeppelin tour the U.S. 4 - Times, performing 133 of 139 schedule shows. By the time Led Zeppelin performed what would become their last ever U.S. show in Oakland, CA on 07/24/77(Plants son Karac died 07/26/77 at the age of 5, ending this tour abruptly) When this happened this was the 10th U.S. Tour the band had started playing over 600 U S. dates from 12/26/68 through 07/24/77) I saw 29 of these shows between '69 through '77, they were indeed the 'Best Hard Rock Band Ever'.... R.I.P. Karac Pendragon Plant & John Henry Bonham 🙏🙏
Exactly. Zep started out opening for Vanilla Fudge on the West coast (Seattle), but they opened for Iron Butterfly in Philadelphia. The crowd basically booed IB off the stage as they chanted for more Zeppelin. That was the last time they opened for anyone.
The most dynamic live version of Babe I’m Gonna Leave You, is from 4.24.69, Fillmore West. Yes, the gig where the bass rig craps out during Long As I Have You!
I used to read all the rock magazines religiously back then like RS, Creem, and a few others. There was no internet, so they were the only source of news and information. They were all obvious in their biases. RS, for example, worshiped Dylan, Lennon, Grateful Dead, and a few other musicians and bands I had no interest in. Creem sung the praises of Detroit bands like MC5 and the Stooges, which I never listened to. The writers were elitists and had no appreciation for what fans liked. If a band was popular, it was only because their audience of stoned 19 year olds had no taste. So, of course, they all ignored Led Zeppelin.
People like you always make me laugh. So funny. Why waste your precious time on a film you don't like? And even pick up the energy to write a comment? Hope you solve your problems soon. Cheers.

BP Fallon is a great guy but Vanilla Fudge did not record Inna Gadda da Vida. T'was Iron Butterfly.

I mainly resent the mistake because Vanilla Fudge is a terrible band name.

Carmine Appice could never resolve the fact Bonham and the rest of the band were profoundly better musicians
Agree 💯% Carmen thinks he is the best ever.... Please Bonham was light years better.
@@keitha.563 Carmen taught Bonzo everything he knows, just ask him and he will tell you all about it !!🤣

Bonham's voice does not match his persona.
Nobody's does Persona is an attitude not a voice
Long drawn out crap mostly, far too big egos'. even back then
