    We have a 66-2 and it gets around most of the problems of the 59-2 but is only 60cm longer. Table has its own storage and we use it outside the van, the bathroom is great. Two full size singles mean you don’t need to make up a double each night. The lounge is slightly bigger as a result. Importantly the door and step is lower. Just the fridge is the same.

    Brilant account on a great wee van .
    Must agree ,,,,some of my best times were after downsizing from the big tag to a much more nippy size .
    Being able to park in car spaces overlooking the sea and as jenny said cooking tea ect a bonus.
    So enjoyed again bob x jenny .....thank you 👍👌

    Hi from us in NZ. Great to watch your review of the Bailey 5.9 with us having nearly the same layout except our's is 6.4 mtrs long which means our lounge sofa's gives us 2 x 6" 1" single beds then we use our duvalays so no making up any bed! Also we have a narrow cupboard alongside of the fridge for the table and huge storage cupboards above the cab where we keep all our pillows linen etc. We also love driving our smaller MH in fact we share the driving, parking is never a problem.

    Great warts and all video review. It hasn’t put me off the van, just made me weigh up the compromises with greater clarity. So thank you Bob and Jenny, appreciate you for sharing your experiences.

    Great review, I have a manual fridge which admittedly I am used to but the difference is that I can’t forget to change it over because it beeps and flashes when the electric is switched off or if on battery when the engine is switched off. I agree the chopping board over the sink is not a great idea.

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, that one only beeps when hook up was disconnected, so we were always forgetting when we had been on battery or gas when going back on hook up at the site, to switch it back onto electric.

    Great honest review Bob and Jenny and enjoyable to watch. Agree the reversing camera should be as standard as the seat belts!
    The mh has a lot of positives though...

    Great review Bob & Jenny I must have admit you gave it a better review than I thought you would. Thought the beds would be your man problem when you are used to fixed beds. Fridge being manual is a big minus. Don’t like the big sunlight at front I have a large storage cupboard above the cab very handy for all the bedding. Table is same as mine must say I don’t use mine to much effort to get out so I carry a small camping table which stand behind my drivers seat. Beds would be better if slightly longer for singles and why don’t they make the back cushions slightly higher than you wouldn’t need the in fills. Think bailey technical team really need to scratch they head and sort these simple problems out. So all in all a better review than the other Baileys you had 👍

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, think I would lose the table. Would prefer a front locker too. But, we did really like the little Bailey!

    Nice review.
    I see a video where the bed was made with no need for the in-fill, which made it a bit easier.
    Great vids Bob & Jenny.
    All the best,
    Paul.

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes we tried that last night, we used one of the backrests upright, as a headrest. The trouble is it leaves a small gap between cushions, which the bedding escapes into.

    Great review as usual Bob , re cupboards easy to fit shelves in making better space use, just took delivery in June a 762 - 2019 Advance model really good van only failing they fitted a very short spout tap in the kitchen sink water only hit edge of bowl splashing up on the work top and very difficult to fill a kettle bought a longer spout tap IE 240mm long had it fitted sadly BAILEY did not want to know the designer obviously does not visit shop floor to see the problems of his actions must have to comfy a seat in drawing office. Now in France van drives lovely ac very good especially in 38 degree heat. Re the catches on front skylight the 3 with the button locks the handles so you have to push the button to unlock i was fooled by that one too.

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  5 ปีที่แล้ว

    A good review of the 6 metre bailey. Nice motorhome. However if you were thinking of downsizing, have a look at a swift RIO 310. We bought ours in 2018 and love the layout.it has the really large tall fridge, lots of storage with a rear bathroom and separate shower. Oh the fridge is energy automatic selection.The bailey is the closest we have seen to the RIO, but we think the RIO has the edge.

  • @beverleynorth4914
    @beverleynorth4914 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Great review, very thorough.
    If you were downsizing would you go for the slightly longer 66-2 which would give you ability to have single beds and still be nimble enough to park easily.

    Excellent as always, loved the tour overall and review, I was convinced we would buy fixed bed, has made us question. I wonder when listening to overall review whether Alliance 66-2 would be better? Wouldn't sort the fridge issue....😂 thanks Bob and Jenny.

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, 66-2 did interest us. Of course it's 0.8m longer and the kitchen isn't as big, but bathroom is better. We could use sofas as singles as they are 6ft 1in long.

    • @atp4701
      @atp4701 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes and I like the table solution, like you suggested, in a cupboard, 0.6m longer though I guess could make difference in some car parks etc. Always a compromise! Let's hope some other makes also provide some review vans for your reviews.

  • @johnrocker2986

    Bob here's a thought the reason that canopy is hitting the door, I think they have made the door much higher than the Alliance 66-2 which is a similar but longer version of the 59-2, the difference in door height could be 10"

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's because the motorhome is built on a cab chassis that's higher than Alko chassis, so the door is higher up the motorhome.

  • @johnrocker2986
    @johnrocker2986 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Bob n Jenny this one of the best ever reviews fair and honest! I'm new to motorhoming just in my 2nd year so still lots to learn. Initially I was very taken by Bailey & Swift Coachbuilts but after attending about six shows I found the Q/C on both makes was fairly poor and that was with show vans offered by both Bailey & Swift? In the end, between my partner and I we chose a Malibu 640LE and in the time we have owned Lucy, she has only has two very small warranty issuses although it took Carthago a long time to sort the small problems out. I like the idea of these 6 metre vans due to Englands parking spaces being frequent and costly! Have you reviewed the Auto Trail F60 or F62 or the smaller Auto Sleeper coachbuilts?

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I thought the Malibu we borrowed was well made. I've looked at the Autotrail Tribute F60 here, th-cam.com/video/wQl6vkSk0r8/w-d-xo.html.

      We booked it through the Caravan and Motorhome Club Site. Being over 3500kg is not an issue. Coaches go the same way, it's only goods freight that's different. Just select Campervan on the Eurotunnel website.

    Would be an ideal van for me if we could use the seating area as single beds. Hopefully Bailey will increase the length of a new van by 50cm. You failed to mention Bob your dislike of Bailey not supplying a rear view camera which incidentally I totally agree with you that it should be supplied as standard.

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did say there's no reversing camera, when I was walking round the back about 3 mins in. The Bailey Autograph range does have rear view camera, but it should be standard on all Motorhomes. Still don't think I would want to use the sofas as single beds, the front seats make the end of the bed uneven, unless you add yet another in fill cushion.
