I honestly loved Showdown. The roster, the arenas. There would be times when I played fantasy booker as the WWF, or at times an indie using the Funkin' Dojo. I rented this game so many times that my store offered it to me a number of times.
The Steiner Brothers and the Legion of Doom have fought each other in real life they just didn't have that many matches together that's why people don't remember
This could have been an incredible game. Nearly everything about it is perfect and shows the amount of care Acclaim put into it but its so unpolished and buggy. The Legends of Wrestling series could have been so much more. Love the commentary Ian.

Scott was an awesome talent, perhaps the best pound for pound guy in 91-92, but he was a tag team wrestler first and foremost, and not ready to be the face of Turner/WCW. It's cool to like the guy, but come on not everybody could have been given the task of carrying the top championship.

I loved the roster of this game. If only the AKI engine from WrestleMania 2000 was used for this game and the problems were fixed it would have been great. I loved they had retired WWF and WCW people in here. They had Rick Martel in there for crying out loud I wish AKI would have licensed their wrestling engine for all wrestling games.

This game looks great still. Great choices in matches Ian. 👊 Fun fact, in 1993 on a raw, Marty jenetty vs doink the Clown, best 2 falls out of 3. This match went 22 minutes. I had no idea either wrestler had got that kind of TV time. I know they were very popular but I completely forgot, this happened and doink brought another doink and pulled the switch off. Always great to travel back to the past, you never know what you will find. 👊

The Funkmeister!!! You know there have been some costumes/makeups/gimmicks wrestlers have had over the years but one of the most iconic I still remember is Bam Bam flame outfit. It just stuck out like the road warriors spike studded shoulder pads and face paint or like good dust or kane's mask, undertaker's hat, ultimate warrior, the hulksters iconic red and yellow, etc. To this day I will always thank you for getting me back to my roots in wrestling and sorry I didn't answer ya on the last video about what I've been playing and doing. Kind of been trying to play kingdoms of amalure but bro... Diablo 2 was and still is the shit and I can't wait for the makeover. Your gunna love it. I hope all is well on your end of the world and how about that secret boss battle against ermac in Shaolin monks!? Right!? And I took your advice after watching the 616 monopoly championship and held my own little version but with cards against Disney. Of course I'm the raining champion, there's no belt to be had, but regardless. It was hella fun. I still have yet to play the Legends of Wrestling games, but this game definitely looks pretty decent for its time. Nothing groundbreaking, but pretty cool as an idea. I also like the stacked roster, and small stuff like slow mo finishers and the decent animations.
