If you still have that 1942 P, please get it XRF'ed at a local coin store, jewelry shop, or pawn shop. That will easily and safely determine the composition. It would be a shame to return a significant error to circulation.
I hit a small collection dump last week. In 10 nickel rolls, there was a heavily worn 1950d, and a 1939s, many 1940s and 1950s with quite a few "S: mint marks, 2 buffalo heads from 1936 and 1937 common dates, one war nickel from 1945. However, in this small lot, there were some real gems. There were a handful of specimens from the 1960s that were BU with FS. There were two from 1970s that were BU with FS. No doubt days like these are far and few between but boy was it nice to find some nice coins. Thanks for sharing.
I think i'm always more excited to find old AU to MS nickels rather than war nickels, but I love any finds honestly. Now if its a MS war nickel, best of both worlds.
Loved the hunt Rob! Certain finds you are hunting for, but alway fun to find newer coins that are in tremenous condition as well! Thanks again for all hou do! Stephen
Hi there rob, nice to see you upload again my man, I’ve been feeling sick recently so I’m resting up and this video is definitely gonna help, thanks for the content and good luck in the boxes
Nice hunt! I would take the 1st box anytime. Nice upgrades & nice looking silver, plus the non silver looked like silver to me...can you "ping it"?? Keep em coming Rob; great video❗️😁👍💥
What are the odds of picking out a coin as silver from the edge, it being the correct year to potentially be silver, and then it not being silver? I'm sure you know it could have been struck on a silver planchet improperly, if you haven't sent it somewhere to get tested then I definitely would. Those improper planchet errors usually sell for a good bit
What would be interesting would be a running total of side finds. How many Buffalo, V, Silver war, Canadian, Pesos, other foreign etc. Also for other denominations. 1¢, 10¢, 25¢.
Hey Rob, I've often wondered about nickels that shouldn't be silver but possibly could be. Like any transition year there have had old planchets minted after the transition. How would one go about checking to see composition since their weight is the same?
i had a bit of a weird experience at my bank today to start off i will explain my area doesnt get 2s hardly ever, so im happy when i get a couple of 2s and halves are the same. so i go in to get a box of pennies (pretty bad, only one wheat) and i ask for $10 in 2s and $5 in halves, so the teller gives me the box, and comes out with a roll of halves and asks if i would take that and 2 2s and i said sure, so she gives me the oldest ones she had (2003s both) and asks how i want my other dollar, i say just a bill please, and she gives me a star (knowing its a star) unfortunately only 3.2 million print run but still pretty good for $40

Hey Rob it could be a 1942 wood grain error
I hit a small collection dump last week. In 10 nickel rolls, there was a heavily worn 1950d, and a 1939s, many 1940s and 1950s with quite a few "S: mint marks, 2 buffalo heads from 1936 and 1937 common dates, one war nickel from 1945. Border to border and all decades covered!! That 45 D w/ partial steps was NICE; Gorgeous toning on the 42!! Awesome as always!! UPGRADES!!!🤘🤘🤘
Great job!! Yay Silver!!! ❤️. Thanks for sharing!
Improving the books is always welcome! Great job again! 👍
Nice hunt Rob, good to see some upgrades to the album 👍
Another great nickel album hunt congratulations on finding a war nickel thanks for sharing Rob
That 1942 is worth investigating in my opinion.
I would get the 42 tested for silver, it sounded good on the video
I think i'm always more excited to find old AU to MS nickels rather than war nickels, but I love any finds honestly. Now if its a MS war nickel, best of both worlds.
Any hunt that fills the silver jar is a good hunt. 👍.
Def should have tested that odd "war" nickel as a possible error!!
RobFindsTreasure ROCKS !!
I say definitely test that '42 the color looks great and hey you might get extremely lucky
Silver in any hunt si a good box so great hunt

Another great video and cool finds in those boxes.
Definitely worthwhile!!!!!
Well done Rob!
Love that war nickel!
Ooo! That 45 D was nice!
Thanks for doing this hunt.
Pretty good hunt thanks I enjoyed it
Good hunt tonight Rob. Some nice upgrades 👍 and silver for the jar✌️
That 1950d is like trying to find a new 2000 year old Roman silver coin in a Canadian penny box
Great nickel hunt again!
Nice hunt
Nice hunt Rob! SILVER!! Take care Brother!!
I enjoy your videos. Nice hunt.

Not much in those boxes, except that nice 45-D. Well, better luck next time!
Got the first like though......
Thank you brother!
Good Job

Let’s go
Insane finds man, well done
Might want to see what your metal detector picks up on that 42 Philadelphia Rob just to be sure.
Would it make a different sound ??
My grandma said that she will buy me 4 boxes of Pennies for Christmas.🥳🥳🥳
BOOM! Happy hunting brother!
Just got back from thanksgiving with the family, hopefully some good finds to end out the night 👌
What country are you from? It’s only October here in America 😵💫🤔

Good idea... that would be interesting & fun to follow. 👍
It sure is strange that 1942 looked like a silver war nickel. That’s really got me wondering…
Hey Rob, I've often wondered about nickels that shouldn't be silver but possibly could be. Like any transition year there have had old planchets minted after the transition. How would one go about checking to see composition since their weight is the same?
@RobFindsTreasure That odd 1942 nickel could be the 1942 missing D error since they are out there, but your would have to get it tested to find out.
I agree. Might be worth testing for sure.
To be fair if it is indeed silver, it would probably be a wrong planchet error which would probably be worth something pretty decent
Wow, that 42 nickel looks seriously odd…I’d have laid money that it was a silver nickel
For the 2000 canadian there are the ones with nothing under the queen (105,868,000) and some have a p under the queen (4.899,000)
Thanks Jan!
That 42 *REALLY* looks silver -- I'd at least run a silver tester on it. Do silver nickels ping test different from regular nickels?
They do, slightly.
Think it's going to start to be common to find Mexican coins in are coins rolls soon.
i have a 1950 denver i didnt realize how hard it would be to find anymore
Would the 1942 non silver be a different weight than the 1942 silver? If it was different, I was wondering why you couldn't just weigh it.
It probably would because silver has more weight. (I think)
I think it's a 1942 phili wood grain error
Daryl, both versions weigh 5.0 grams. Checking mint marks and locations is the way to go.
What about a precious metals verifier?
👍
Hey Rob, I was recently roll hunting and found a 1889 Indian head
Very nice!
✌️
Rob will you ever do a Q&A for us? So many questions
Hello
what is a ender
A1943 nickel??
Don't get in a pickle
If you need a nickle
How much is a Mexican peso worth these days.
he said 50 D instead of 58 D
F
Failed to be first
You are 1st - BOOM! 💥
