She's looking nice. I live in China (12 years now) and recently bought this bike. Well a similar model. Mine is called Thunder Custom 250. We have access to a plethora of parts here and your video has inspired me to do changes on my bike. Thanks for the video and keep up the cool mods.
We had a company that brought the Thunder 250 here a couple of years ago, they have unfortunately gone out of business now. They look like a bit of fun.
I am not aware of Thunder going out of business. I got mine recently and there are several resellers posting pics of sales regularly. Its a fun bike here in China. Not enough power to get you into trouble but enough power to get in/out of traffic quickly. @@MoroMagrew
Its a solid build. Not a lot of plastic. I doubt you'll get 100k miles. Thats a steep expectation to be honest. In China this bike is legal for 8 years (in my city). After that...can't registered/license. I don't ride much (far) and log about 300 km a month. I expect regular maintenance will keep the bike fine. I don't push the bike and actually look after my things well so i expect the bike, when it retires, will be still a good bike with low kilometers. I paid 26,800 Chinese RMB (about $3,600) so my cost per use (CPU) is actually pretty low and I am very happy with the bike and its performance. @@marchess923
I really liked the copper colors that some of the original parts came in. It gives the bike a bit of a steampunk feel that really worked with the rest of the styling
I actually really like the look of the bike, and did so even before you started to fix things. With it's springer front end and that big square front tire. I think the manufacturer started with a great design, they just failed when it came to needless cost cutting procedures. It's looking cool mate !
Hey, I rarely subscribe to a channel, but you deserve it because instead of just speaking badly about the bike, you saw its potential and did something better with it than just saying it's bad and worthless. Sometimes a bike like that is a dream for some people. I have a CB 400 '82' cafe racer here in Brazil and I love my bike. Your project turned out really cool. Congratulations.
Dude that is looking great! Excited to see where else you go with it. Would love to see before and after shots put together in the next vid so we can see how it looks in comparison
I love the look of this little bike. As someone who is in his 60s looking to get a cheap run around this would suit me down to the ground. I love the mods you have done although I may not have done all of them, it's looking superb. Great job. Very interesting.
For the "battery tank", you could try screwing on some 3d-printed internal bosses and use a cabinet linkage hinge make it open in a cool sorta way. Loving the experiment build so far!
Looking really good! That gas tank though, has got to go. Maybe a Sportster tank? And the mufflers make it sound like a cartoon. Maybe straight pipe...Just an idea... Great job! Maximum chop style for little effort. You don't get that every day.
Maybe add a custom paintjob or logo on the tank. And maybe some custom gages, really gives me race bike vibes with the open air filter. Well done mate!
The spring seat would be good on a budget. Add some springs to the now battery holder and hinge the front. On another note I would make the chain guard actually guard the chain somehow. But it looks amazing and thank you for the content
Hey from Texas, I love the way your bike gets better and better,I'm old school ,you should fashion some cool looking chain guard though, you know it looks much too big and bad ass to be a 250. Stay safe my friend
Love what you did so far man, but I'm not sold on the handlebars. I think you should consider a pair of 12 to 16 apes to make it look even better. Great job anyways!
Relocate the speedo down the side, bring the side silhouette of the bike down a touch. Looks alot better so far! The battery relocation was defo a good move! 👌
I like the new lights, the looks anyhow. They are just small. Not wrong, just small. I fear not being seen on the road and I ride a Goldwing lit up like a Christmas tree and people still pull out in front of me, Good looking build so far.
My ocd says get a black led motorcycle headlight with integrated front signals and a brake light with it also so front and back are integrated and both just single round lights as well
I actually really like the look of this bike lol. Also cant beleive how good it sounded for a 250 in the first video. Whats the best way to find these online? Subbed for the next vid, keep it up!
Nothing wrong with that filter setup man, but if you are “concerned” print a front wind/water guard that covers the front half from the side, it’ll pull in plenty of air from the back half anyway.
It might look a little off but if you changed the exhaust to something slimmer toward the rear with maybe a whale/shark tail tip it could look quite nice.
Some old school hotrod hand painted pinstripes and maybe the name of the bike sign written on the tank ,ie "little thunder" abbreviated to "lil thunder" . Pinstripe the rims ?
Nice dude, If you 3D print a ring, kinda jubilee clip style, you could bond it on the inside of the oil tank lid, then when you shut it, it will locate the lid nicer If you get me 👍🏼 I actually really like the proportions of the bike 👍🏼
I think the tank size is good - a larger one would spoil the design perfected by the Japanese company Zero Engineering. However, I would search around for a different shaped tank, but keep it small. For a 250 you don’t need anything bigger anyway.
Fun fact, if they're Renthal Superbike handlebars, I've just fitted a set to my R1. Similar strokes for diff'rent folks eh?😊 btw it's looking brilliant buddy. 👏
I’d like to see new header and exhaust system with holes punched in the heat shield for your legs to look like a rifle barrel otherwise your build is looking fantastic!!!
Ya gonna shorten up the handle bars because we aren't doing this to be conformable....ok put these taller handlebars with a bend and made it more comfortable...lol, looking good man!
I actually like the Brat Style location the the front winkers were at, Not great for otheres seeing you but looks tough / neo-Tokyo to me for some reason.
What did you do with the origional Battery compartment? The Bike has ended up looking great. Are you thinking of comfort or are you leaving the seat as is? I've seen people suggesting springing the seat and i think your back will thank you if you can find a way of adding suspension to the seat?
My version (THUNDER) is a hardtail and my seat has huge springs that actually works well around town. I don't spend much time on the bike, maybe log 300 km a month.
3D printer have good, i build my own house i made all doors handle, kitchen handle, self brackets, table feet brackets, hooks to wall, shower shampoo self, etc, 3D printer, workin well last 12 year. and lot cheapen than buy all parts at home pro.
I personnally "invested" 1k eur in kustom tech controls... 😅 I don't say that I regret it, they're gorgeous, but god so darn expensive 😑 Project's looking good tho !

How's the quality longevity-wise. I expect 100,000 mi. before a major repair w/ regular, quality-oil changes. I just putt calmly.

This is a great idea for a build. A headlight with a mesh guard would look good 💡
Ditch the brake lights for something a little more vintage looking, maybe a single big brake light? Analog cluster needs to be added too
A new larger tank and different shaped seat (on springs, or floating?) would absolutely take that bike to 100!
I changed my seat to a larger one. I agree about a larger peanut tank. I am actually trying to locate one that fits well.

Looking good dude. Your 3D prints are nice, I’m really like this series.

Its a great little bike with a lot of potential. Fast enough around town but not too fast to get you into trouble. Its a head turner for sure.
For Chinesium it is less bad than it was. 2 into 1 exhaust and a better tank would be excellent upgrades.
For the "battery tank", you could try screwing on some 3d-printed internal bosses and use a cabinet linkage hinge make it open in a cool sorta way. Loving the experiment build so far!

3D Printer coming in clutch! Switchgear design reminds me a lot of the Motogadget switches! Regardless, great work! ✌
you may want to add a chain tensioner
im invested in your build, post often please
Looking great! Signals, controls, and bars make such a huge difference! Love keeping it simple
Very good choice with the handlebars 👍 it looks damn good already.
Yes love the switches 👍👍👍 just need to paint the all with raptor liner and delete chrome bits
The spring seat would be good on a budget. Add some springs to the now battery holder and hinge the front.
On another note I would make the chain guard actually guard the chain somehow.
But it looks amazing and thank you for the content

Such a cool build. I’d say change out the exhaust maybe?
The manifold diameter was tiny with bolt on parts to the exhaust to hide it, that definitely needs sorting... Really like what you've done so far.
Man, wish you lived near me bro. Your work is top notch!
love this. please keep going with this bike and see how far you can mod it with china bits
Relocate the speedo down the side, bring the side silhouette of the bike down a touch. Looks alot better so far! The battery relocation was defo a good move! 👌

Coolest Chinese 250 ever!
I actually really like the look of this bike lol. Also cant beleive how good it sounded for a 250 in the first video. Whats the best way to find these online? Subbed for the next vid, keep it up!

A nice Harley-Style fueltank would be nice... And a nice tight handlebars configuration or dragbars would look cool
Great work a lot of fun to watch 👍
Looks great 👍 Not 100% sold on the air filter being exposed but whatever - she looks great.
Looking good so far!
It might look a little off but if you changed the exhaust to something slimmer toward the rear with maybe a whale/shark tail tip it could look quite nice.
Looks really nice. I'd put a bigger rear tyre, and 21' front wheel
Nice job, some good improvements there
Tou should definitely re work the exhausts. Maybe some short stubbed straight down.
Any idea where those cool indicators/tail?brake lights came from? Want some for my build! Great video, love the progress!!!
Like what you did with the battery.
Agree with all those who said do something with the exhaust so that it looks and sounds better.
Some old school hotrod hand painted pinstripes and maybe the name of the bike sign written on the tank ,ie "little thunder" abbreviated to "lil thunder" . Pinstripe the rims ?
How would a clear filter cap look? maybe way out of your vision for the bike, but i am still curious
Nice dude,
If you 3D print a ring, kinda jubilee clip style, you could bond it on the inside of the oil tank lid, then when you shut it, it will locate the lid nicer
If you get me 👍🏼 I actually really like the proportions of the bike 👍🏼
Great job repurposing that faux oil tank that turned out fantastic.
fishtail pipes would be cool
Yes... fishtail exhaust all day
Nice build but I like big red stop light for safety. I know won't look as good but..
I think the tank size is good - a larger one would spoil the design perfected by the Japanese company Zero Engineering. However, I would search around for a different shaped tank, but keep it small. For a 250 you don’t need anything bigger anyway.
What about changing the mufflers for a deeper louder sound.
Amazing skills!
Fun fact, if they're Renthal Superbike handlebars, I've just fitted a set to my R1. Similar strokes for diff'rent folks eh?😊 btw it's looking brilliant buddy. 👏
Quick question… does drilling the holes for the cables in the bars weaken them at all?
Should join the exhausts into 1 will make it sound alot better
I’d like to see new header and exhaust system with holes punched in the heat shield for your legs to look like a rifle barrel otherwise your build is looking fantastic!!!
Got a link for those indicators?
Yeah here for the same thing
wont the powder coating wear off after a few times of it rubbing in and out the can? especially so since you guys have winter season.
Tbh I liked the old lights better. Those look like little antennas. They clash a bit. Really nice work on them though.
Engine concept copy from Yamaha Virago 250XV. At our country we have version from Wmoto - V16 the same engine. Malaysian, & Indonesian also.
Looking really good
I reckon you are done tbh 👍👍👍
So I've had a think and while I'm sure you've already thought about the exhausts and the seat what would you say to a smaller headlight?
Looks good!
Ya gonna shorten up the handle bars because we aren't doing this to be conformable....ok put these taller handlebars with a bend and made it more comfortable...lol, looking good man!
So now there is no kill switch?
Love it, buuuuut the reg how do you pot it?
Short Z Bars would be cracking!! And a novelty tail lamp.Mabey one that has the word F ck ? Easy to find.😂
I actually like the Brat Style location the the front winkers were at, Not great for otheres seeing you but looks tough / neo-Tokyo to me for some reason.

O dig it... i wish ..looks sweet
2:01 Oh dammit, I like the looks of this Rx7.
I would do a simpler Tachometer and relocate it maybe. Great build tho!
Looks nice, is the engine any good?
Engine is well proven since 2006. It's a Yamaha XV 250 licens/clone named 2V49FMM, in this case with an upgraded fuel injection.
Please Jish, please post a link for the bike 😁
Got a link on where to buy one please?
Please tell us where to get one. I would buy it just for the forks.
Hi. Do you have the details of the tiny indicators please
So whats going on with the RX7 FD in the back ground boss man?
Please do a 2 into 1 exhaust.
Do you under take custom work? Great build
Nice FD, maN!
use a thin front tire for the best.
large 2 into 1 for the exhaust?
Do a full exhaust and ECU flash
Please do something with the exhaust, needs a more aggressive sound.
where in uk can i buy one of these bikes ?
Chinese turbo for the Chinese bobber!
Please please !!! provide links to the parts you use !
I love the controls, but don't hace a 3D printer.
Looks good for what it is, peace ✌️
Can i get the file for the 3d printed buttons please?
Love it
Bike name suggestion: China Bob
It looks the part,it’s a shame no British company can’t make a bobber like it,at a reasonable price I’d move the headlight up a few inches.old style
Through some white wall tyre 😊
Mate, you can’t put chromed risers on otherwise black bike ;)
3D printer have good, i build my own house i made all doors handle, kitchen handle, self brackets, table feet brackets, hooks to wall, shower shampoo self, etc, 3D printer, workin well last 12 year. and lot cheapen than buy all parts at home pro.
I think the exhaust pipes needs some work either
I personnally "invested" 1k eur in kustom tech controls... 😅
I don't say that I regret it, they're gorgeous, but god so darn expensive 😑
Project's looking good tho !
How much is the bike ?
Paint the fuel tank flaming style .
Very best 🇨🇦 👍
