Your videos are the salt in the soup for my cycling. In my area, most bike commuting channels are about traffic violations. Your perspective on people, the city and your surroundings is refreshingly different and reminds me to celebrate life and the vibe of my city. Keep up the good work, I enjoy it very much and for years, I have been eagerly following your channel. Greetings and all the best from Duesseldorf, Germany.
I need to learn from this guy. I tend to focus on road laws and cars, because of course I want to be a good example and also survive. But I learned over time that it just brings technicality and negativity--obeying road laws doesn't make me any likeable to car drivers. Time to change my perspective, and focus more on the human side of cycling (and walking).
your point of view on mixed cycle lanes in the middle of the road is very interesting, some cyclists say it's a good idea but like you I think everyone should have their own lane.
@@1738-l1j that's why no one asks for your opinion: it's not that smart, it sure ain't smart, and definitely not relevant to anyone, as you have no experience in the matter.
Man I love this channel, I've been watching this since 2020. So satisfying to watch after a long day at work, also inspires me to ride my bike more 😂. Waiting for your next upload man, God bless all cyclists.
I lived in Lisbon for three years and cycled almost every day. I have to say the terrible quality of driving is astonishing and is part of the reason I moved away. A lot of drivers simply do not know the rules of the road and nearly everyone is in a crazy rush and extremely selfish when driving. It’s so strange because people in person are the complete opposite, the nicest people I’ve ever met were there.
That accident is an excellent advertisement for cycling gloves. Ouch. And then more ouch on the cobblestones, ha ha. Lovely Christmas lights! Yay - a Christmas Gorilla! Centre cycle lanes - oh dear, almost as challenging as unaware scooters and pedestrians, and delivery riders, and distracted drivers. Thanks Miguel
I am late to the party, but fingerless gloves are very welcome in summer, and are not that expensive. From the moment I have fallen from a bike on the asphalt, I used them, and from then, I had little to worry about my hands
Nice video! I love cycling but I’m a bit afraid of cycling in Lisbon, both because of the terrain and the vehicles + delivery bikers traffic. But I’m buying my MTB in the next months, definitely
had lost your channel, recently visited Lisboa over the summer and had flashbacks to your videos and funny portuguese bits. Happy that you're still going strong! Feliz Natal e um prospero ano novo, from Mexico!
This is the problem with being a "nice" cyclist and riding close to the curb. The little mini potholes or drainage gates or anything can bump you off and cause you to go flying into where the general traffic is going.
It's always a pleasure to see you make a post. Washington DC has a couple bike lanes along the center of a wide avenue. Some are nice, some are very poorly done. It can be nice if it's protected and along a route where people stay on the avenue for a long time and don't tend to turn. But there is another that is not protected (other than a wide lane and low barriers ~20cm tall) because it is a parade route. Happy cycling and thank you for making these videos.
Those "bike lanes" in the middle of the street aren´t even bike lanes, just limited to 30 km/h to favor use by both bikes and cars. No car uses them under the speed limit and police wont enforce the limits. They are there just to say we have some bike infraestructure
Lovely video. A bit of everything. I only spent a bit of time in Madrid and didn't see any bike infrastructure. You should visit Barcelona. It's not perfect, but definitely better than Madrid for cycling.
Obrigado.
Miguel, do you still include videos sent to you from other cyclists like you have done before? Another great video, by the way. I really enjoy everything you show us.
In the first clip, is that really meant as a cycling lane?! That looks like maybe 25cm wide. Seems very dangerous! If my city gives me something like this I'd rather ride in the middle of the Street.

:D Thank you! I also get upset with traffic but try to control as much as possible.
I think I am going to visit Lisbon, also due to your videos. :)
We missed your videos man. You inspire a lot of people to start cycling, keep it up!

SUP ALTIS
personally cyclists shouldnt have any lanes

4:29 this sketch made me laugh so hard...that's what i call, arriving in style.
Happy holidays.
Indeed, happy holidays!
After having cycled just a small part of Lisbon in June... man, you'd be riding with closed eyes here in Switzerland 😂😂

Went to Lisbon for the first time a couple of weeks ago, those hills are absolutely brutal for walking up let alone cycling :D

Very true what you've said.
Wow!! Bom dia!! 😂😂😂

Yes, during summer I don't wear ones because of the sweat. I have looked for but so far I haven't found one.
The sweat is a pain in gloves. I hope you find some you can wear

Excellent. I wear my gloves all year too.
I missed those movies !

Love it, Miguel. Recognized several places in Lisbon ❤. Hope to go back in 2024 🙏🏻

Exactly. Afterwards I tried to explain him that.
I missed your videos so much 🎉🎉
I hope you don't hurt yourself too much

Nice to see you posting again. What is the beeping I hear is that your camera saving the moment or one of your trackers?
It's the garmin alarm when it recognizes there was a crash.

It's a waterproof handlebar cycling bag. Also good when you do not want to carry anything on the saddle.

Taxi driver helping biker? Shocking! Never seen in Poland ;(
Question: What is the pros and cons of living in Lisbon ? Thanks
It depends of what you care. Give me examples.
Do you think ride a city bike in Lisbon is easy?
Hope you're bike wasn't scratched?
No, just my leg and my mental state.
And that's why I avoid going to close to sidewalks. Merry xmas! :)
Exactly, happy holidays!

Yes I do. :)

Interestingly, on thisman's website they display a completely different face from the one you saw on the street sign.

No it's not
It's not a lane
3:00 What is that? A photoshoot, a protest?
They were selling stuff. I found it funny the timing when I arrived and the police a second later.

Out of action?
You need a bicycle bell
It is best to wear cycling gloves to protect your hands if you fall off.
I know but during summer is very hard for me.
Minute 4:24 I think they are an English couple, driving in "their" right way of the lane.
Streetcar tracks within cobble stone. Every cyclists nightmare.
Yes but with time we learn how to cross it
it is a chance that the car wasn't too close . A lot of trap on the road for cyclists.
