    Been riding SPs for the last 6 years and they're amazing bindings. Super responsive at the top end of the models available. Would definitely recommend shelling out for the Core and above (alu frames) the plastic frames are a bit fragile if you're riding hard all day but the aluminium frames can take a beating!

    I tried the flow NX2s with that strap. They're great on paper but in practice I still had to tighten and loosen the straps to get in and out. I switched to the K2 Cinch TX - much better performance and no tightening on loosening to get in and out. They are far superior to the the Flow NX2 in my opinion. Finally the Burton step ons appeared Nov 2016. I have been riding these ever since and haven't used any other bindings. Comfort, convenience, control (performance heal to toe).

      Trick is to tilt highback all the way back, get on toe edge and kick your foot in from above. Works like a charm, takes 2 seconds.

    Actually the hiback on Flow NX2 si adjustable side to side by unscrewing the 3 screws in the hiback and positioning the upper portion to the left or to the right. Also we have been selling Flow bindings in Romania for over 6 years and did not have any warranty claims on broken cables. It appears you are VERY unlucky :) You should also try the hybrid strap version on the NX2, it slides in even easier and has more control in my opinion. Besides that your review was spot on these bindings. Cheers!

      They never really worked as good at the K2 Cinch for me - which were far better in terms of performance and response - and certainly now where near as good at the Burton Step-on system.

      Been running the nx2 gt hybrids for 6 yrs. Only minor replacement of ratchets and straps. Otherwise bombproof and make being off piste much safer in my opinion.

    Hi, I bought according to your video an SP mountain fastech binding but the shop were I was they do not have in my size(XL) just an old 2017 model and I have a big foot and I face some problems with the high backs of the bindings, I contact the producer and they were really helpful and generous and sent to me a prototype of a new high back for free. SP is a great binding from a good team. Thanks for suggestion.

    Managed to snatch the last SP Core 2021s online. SPs are almost impossible to get in Canada.
    Can't wait to shred on em when coronavirus is over.

    I've been rocking the an old pair of K2 Cinch for YEARS but it has a firm plastic toe part like the SP. must be an older version.Either way its a binding i love and will always use its a great all mountain binding and sooo easy to get in and out. There have been times where i get stuck in powder and cannot get out from the "rear entry" (lol) part so i have to un buckle the top. having those options are so convenient. looking for an upgrade though, thank you for the video!

    Some of the Fastec Bindings are dual entry (proper buckles) - for example, the GNU Freedom's and the SP Slab.One Multi-Entry

    I have the SP bindings. I'll say I have to constantly adjust the toe strap. Also depending on your boots the back doesn't go down easily, if there's a bit of meat on the back soul they are hard to push down. They are also hard to put on if on a hill. They are best if strapping in on flat areas.

    I'm a little surprised that you put the nx2s up against the fastechs, as they aren't really the same level of binding.
    The s lab ones would probably be SPs direct competition to the nx2s from flow.
    I happen to be riding s lab ones, and whilst not as fast as my k2 clickers, they're pretty good.

    Hi Dano. In the beginning you say the Flow NX2 are brand new for 2018 because of the Active Strap in opposite to older modles. However from several sources it seems like Active Strap came already back in 2012? (N.A.S.T.Y?) I don't know about canted footbeds? For us who can't afford latest modles it would be very useful to have more correctly info about the what's actually new upgrades and not.
    I've been riding volkl Fastec upgraded with proper ratchet buckles for the last 5-6winters. Now looking for an upgrade and in search of more in depth composition in Flow Vs Fastec. Any suggestions on where to go to?

    Is SP even around 2023?

  • @GermanBadGuy
    @GermanBadGuy 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How to adjust the Flows?
    I don't get it!
    If I tighten them enough for harder shredding, I can't get the foot in deep enough when re-entering so the highback can close freely.
    When I adjust them so I can get in far enough for the boot heel to give way for the highback, the ratchets are too loose.
    It's not meant to be re-adjusted everytime, is it?

    • @antediluviangocart
      @antediluviangocart 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use silicone aerosolspray once in a while to lubricate all surfaces on my flows that come in contact with the boot, then it just slides right in, works great for me.

  • @junmizuta6476
    @junmizuta6476 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    BTW you didnt do the SP justice. you have all the tweak ablitity as a regular binding, up until highback rotation. takes quite a bit of effort and know how. but its all there. That Core model isnt where its at. Sp Brotherhood for park, Mountain Adventure for fast precise snowbording.

  • @unionse7en

      They don't have the same amount of control and power transfer from your boot to the board. It's the trade off for the convenience. All the top boards around shit on them and say the best step in's are equivalent to mid 2000's tech for conventionals. I happen to have only used step ins and really don't know if I'd even consider using anything else. I love getting off a lift and actually can step in while moving. I am usually ready to start a run faster than my skiing friends.

    • @junmizuta6476

      well I have the flow nx2 gt they are on a shelf collecting dust. John try a correctly dialed SP United Mountain Adventure. They run like a dream. Through trees, carving, strait lining, powder and mougls. Id use them opposed to my Union Force.

      @@johnnicholson8345 Thats a fair point. But all the more learning curve to get over. I think it would be a blissful feeling to switch from k2 cinch to 2020 snowboard tech bindings, i would hope there would be a huge difference but at the same time what could be all so different (said the old man looking at a land line)

    • @johnnicholson8345
      @johnnicholson8345 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Uh, that's the point of step in's. Did you really just type that???? If you sit down to get in then you really should be using conventional bindings. You seem to have entirely missed the whole point of step ins.

    • @junmizuta6476
      @junmizuta6476 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      they have maintained the rachet system for ppl who sit down. so not an issue with their bindings dear

    • @unionse7en
      @unionse7en 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@johnnicholson8345 ,the problem is the CInch's don;t really open enough so it's awkward to angle your foot when standing, so in some situations it's easier to sit down...which kinfa sucks, they are ok, . If they opened a tad farther they would be really good for me, but oh well they are just ok. Good idea not great execution.

    • @johnnicholson8345
      @johnnicholson8345 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@unionse7en disagree. I know what you mean about the angle however because the rear release has to completely drop down it's near impossible to enter or exit bindings in sitting position. I recently purchased the Union Atlas, some of the best bindings out there and after about a month of use there's no a big difference between the two. The main thing I notice is the dampening of the Unions. However, the narrow rear heel of the Unions makes entry and ratcheting in very difficult.

  • @Skyfish420

    Best binding I ever rode was the Burton cartel. But I got old and lazier I now rock flows nxs hybrid. Dont recommended hybrids go with the original straps. As for their number one pick scrap that go with the Gnu freedom. Those pressure Clips suck!
