Thanks for sharing your layout. It's really nice, but I have to say that you're the first older fellow who I didn't hear complain that N scale was to small for them to see! Keep up the good work. 😊

I love that Steve included so many East Bay details and history. Jingletown and the Alameda Belt reminds me of my childhood. Cool stuff, and really well done 👍🏽

It’s been many years since I had the opportunity to visit your layout, Steve. I was simply ‘blown away’ with your layout way back then, but seeing how your interest in ops has ‘pushed’ you along with so many fantastic ‘additions’, I am even more amazed with your truly inspired works!
Your n scale ‘empire’ really illustrates the advantages of the smaller scale. (I know we n-scalers like to ‘brag’ about this -- but very few have really ‘utilized’ this to the extent that you have accomplished! …nor have many accomplished such amazing modeling!!)
I hope a million modelers tune in and see this for themselves.
Simply fantastic! … And most inspirational!!
Thank so very much for sharing this with us all !!!
(Absolutely love those ‘pigs’!!! Super well done! My compliments to all of you who worked on them!)

We also had the privilege of enjoying an op session at Steve's the day before this video was published and were equally impressed with how well it all works!

My first real attempt at a functional layout was in N scale. This is way beyond anything I imagined. Amazing, sir.

What a great job Steve, growing up in the East Bay I know exactly where your towns are. Once the Tower Operator at Fruitvale dropped the crossing arm on my dad's pickup even though the train was way down the trackand put a dent in the hood.

Amazing layout and great to see that someone is doing this is N scale as well. Almost all these huge layout build for ops seem to be H0 these days. Enjoyed the video very much!

This is a beautiful, incredibly detailed N scale layout. Thank you, John, for featuring this video on your channel. It inspires me as an N scale modeler of both SP and ATSF. Santa Fe remains my favorite railway of all time, but SP comes in as a close 2nd and is also held very dear to my heart. Both lines served the small Orange County town where I grew up in the 1960s.

I model Southern Pacific myself, so it's what drew me to this video. It's all I saw growing up as a kid so that's my connection to the road.

What a fantastic layout and a truly beautiful operation of California. Is there anyway to contact him to visit his layout since he is only 60 miles away.

WOW Very nice layout! Looks like it runs reliable and scenery is almost done! Ok, I am thinking about an HO size of layout! :-)

I'm fairly new to not over railroading and I'm setting up an HO setup. I have a question. how far apart should two parallel roadbeds be? Or should I say how close can they be?
