Al Ewing's Immortal Hulk run is one of the best things I've seen in comics. It's so wonderful to read a future classic in realtime. Everything comes together in a way that I can only describe as sublime. So much depth, while also being a great crowd pleaser. I was literally shouting and pumping my fist when "Red God Hulk" busted through the red door and took out the U-Foes.
I think Jen thought the door was just her imagination but when they asked if she'd seen the door it was confirmation that it was something more.
She has her own one shot where she ran into the leader... it took place right after the empyre story
Every episode with another new hulk. This run is crazy
Somebody had better throw some damn money at Al Ewing and beg him to stay cause there aren't many who can continue work like this. Yeah, there are those one shots but most of them don't really hit like Ewing's writing does.

@@themilkman5004 Great for Venom fans! Doesn't change the fact that Immortal hulk won't be the same without him. Here's a thought, why not have him as a consultant or assistant editor for Immortal Hulk stories? We get good stories and so do Venom fans. I kid though, that'd be overload.

@@themilkman5004 I just looked up who was going to be the replacement, didn't look to hard to be honest but what I did find out is that the series is meant to end with Ewing's run. If this is really the case then it's bittersweet, on the one hand you have the fact that the series integrity stays intact, there will be no outside influence to contradict or change the flow of the storytelling. On the other hand it means the end of one of the best comic runs in recent history if not ever. Such is life, I suppose.
He even made Alpha Flight cool (Gamma Flight).
The fact that the one below all is the one causing all of this just makes this a lot more interesting

Am I the only one who wants She-Hulk to go back to how she was? This whole she’s stronger so speaks and acts more like savage Hulk thing is really ruining her smart, funny 4th wall breaking personality, plus it made her unique in the Hulk family. Now she’s just a weaker female version of savage hulk which is way less interesting

I have loved Al Ewing's run on the Hulk. In my opinion he bring plot threads and characters from the past back into the forefront similar to Hickman. Not Hickman level but similar 🤏
This run has been better than Hickman 's best.
Love your work rob, and I still haven’t forgotten how you predicted the blade movie being a thing. Robs way of story telling and the way it honestly comes off as being around a campfire with your friends is what keeps me coming even when I already know a lot of these stories.

The Hulk has been clapping thor cheeks since the hulk's inception nothing new.
@@kenny7209 Thor's depicted as both someone who can easily shred the Hulk with a bolt of lightning here, but then immediately forget he can do that the moment his face gets covered.
Even ignoring Thor regularly fights people in space or can talk in the sun to Atum with air issues, him getting immobilized by the Hulk here makes very little sense because he's shown the ability to lightning the Hulk apart in this comic.
I get why its done (to give T'Challa more clout off Thor and the Hulk's good name) but its handled pretty poorly considering how Al Ewing is a REALLY good writer. Its just a very odd fight.
Hulkn is literally the top evil divinity in the marvel multiverse, I'm sure Thor can be the guy that is way over his head in this situation since Nothing from Odin or himself matches the actual Devil himself.
this run has made me fall in love with marvel comics again. genuinely can’t wait for cates and ewing to switch runs, and ewing still gets to have his hands in the gammaverse with gamma flight
Love the red harpy! I'd love to see her get her own series. Fierce, aggressive, powerful, scary with an extensive, authentic MU backstory as BR. Knows what she wants and not afraid to go after it. Also a mystical character with a somewhat unknown powerset. What a bomb character! She should guest star in the Claymore universe ;D
i fucking hate the red harpy... only cause it sounds dumb and i just want her to be plain ole Betty, also goddamn it Bruce and her deserve some happiness.
but i agree, the red harpy to me is just this giant enigma. like i get her, but because they havent entirely fleshed her out she could be anything they wanted and since they turned her into a fucking red harpy, i want to see them go all out on the craziness, cause why is she not like all the others - easy set up that could have a billion answers.
as a side note, would be funny if the sphinx in Egypt was originally a harpy or someshit like that. she gives that sense of importance to me even when she does nothing but show up.
I swear this is the only reason why I subscribe to comics explain rob videos only for the Hulk videos and I gotta say rob doesn't disappoint when it comes to the Hulk.
When I picked up the first issue of the run I wasn't too sure if it was my cup of tea. As time went on I really started appreciating it more.

Hey rob there was a one shot after the empyre story for she-hulk where she had her own experience with the leader, she is well aware of the one below all and the green door... in the one shot, it is stated that she-hulk actually did die during the empyre story and she was brought back thru the green door. However she wound up running into the leader and he decided to Bring her back to life so she wouldn’t meddle in his business but he closed her green door,.. basically the next time that she dies, she can not come back to life
He makes her think she cant but she probably can. Just that she doesn't know what to do.

I love this channel. I have watched other TH-camrs who do comic videos. Thy couldn't keep my attention. This channel does. I was away from comics for a while. This channel helps me catch up.
It’s just annoying that Thor has the Odin Force but still cant win fights.
Cuz he's not Odin there's a lot of wisdom in the old man thor simply isn't there yet
He nearly took down Knull on his own if the Celestials didn't start killing everyone, turned Galactus into a bomb that killed the Black Winter, one-shoted Odinforce Blake, easily kicked Iron Man to the curb and was chasing around the Pheonix.
This is probably his worst showing since Cates took on the character with him literally unable to blast the Hulk's arm off like he did the panel before.
Marvel's inconsistency with writing Thor is terrible. Outside his own book, Thor is a jobber. With the OF he should be able to destroy the Hulk, Zeus crushed World Breaker Hulk and Odin, the most powerful Skyfather, was more powerful than him.

2:06 this is where the stories inconsistent. Sulfuric acid on the planet Venus, the way the hulk has been lately would’ve melted his skin off. But somehow later you have Thor and black panther blasting his fist apart and stabbing him like he Swiss butter. That type of inconsistency shows that his strength isn’t anywhere near where it should be because material that the hulk body seems to be made out of would totally collapse when hitting hard objects or massive energies. His muscles wouldn’t be able to lift anywhere near the weight that the character typically lifts a big gigantic F that distracts from interesting stories and series. This is me worse because it’s never explained what changed from before. One day he could take the energies that were planet shattering, the next he can’t.

Am pretty sure the reason way Thor and T'Challa were able to hurt Hulk, is because of there magical abilities.

Immortals run has been insane
Commentary was a little off from what was actually going on. When Gamma flight showed up Hulk was losing....honestly they showed up and Hulk and Gamma Flight were losing before She Hulk stepped in to clear the way for the escape.
I think Rob doesn't read the issues himself anymore, or at all. It always sounded like he read summaries elsewhere.

This is honestly one of my favorite hulk designs. With TOBA being my favorite, this one with the red cosmic energy in his veins and red glowing eyes, being my 2nd favorite and having world war hulk being my 3rd favorite.
He’s basically Grey Hulk with red hulk energy and a bit of Savage hulk’s color

" And that's it for this issue! Next time -- its the new Cosmic Hulk versus the U-Foes -- and they're not ready. So whos Henry Gyrich gonna call? Until Joe and Savage Hulk team up with Glorian to form a set of traffic lights -- keep it (mostly) green!" End quote.
