One of the key elements in ESO game design is the notion of choices and their implications. The limited number of skills you can use forces players to make decisions about which buffs/debuffs they want to use. Oakensoul accentuates this as you have fewer sets and skills. So you could look at an Oakensoul tank as an extreme version of choice balance. It forces you to decide what you think tanking is all about because there are no ‘free’ spaces. With taunts lasting 15 seconds and only 4 other skills to play with, Oakentanking also gives players time to focus on mechanics rather than just rushing in and permablocking the whole time. The challenges will be how you control roomfulls of adds and multiple bosses. As far as Stamina regen goes, Oakensoul gives you some of that, but you could build in more with enchants.. And build for regen rather than flat resources. I like Oakentanking as it provides a very different way of tanking. Can you do all content on an Oakentank? That depends far more on whether you can do that content at all than what build you’re using.
I love doing this on my nightblade using crimson oath and turning tide with a sword and board. Pretty much the only way I can build a tank where I can just 100% lean into stamina and ignore magicka for the most part.
Nightblade tank is one of my favorites I did put the okan ring on it at one point and it changed what skills I want to use but overall it was a great experience night blades are already hard to kill but it allowed me to use different abilities that I wouldn't normally use just to get a other version of a buff like a minor resolve from the vigor skill to stack the Buffs
So with Saxhleels you dont need the war horn, so definitely swap in barrier as a selfish-ish option. Also, I personally think having a pull is a convenience and speed thing, not an essential tank tool for most encounters so that would be the first thing to go in most of these fights for me. Id swap in the magicka restoring rune which gives increased block mitigation right? It also gives that nice heal over time and magicka back every second to make those spicy blocks better
I personally would probably swap the shield for the rune with mag sustain on it too if I had reviving barrier on the bar. That may give slightly better survivability
I still prefer a sax horn for the max resources because more resource still = more damage. The healer was running a MA barrier so we don't really need two. Also I would never drop my chain!!!! I find it so much of a time saver to group adds together and honestly my friends absolutely love how I group trash pulls. They get huge dps numbers lol. Also the rune only gives major resolve, not block mit. which I something I don't need with oakensoul, the resources and heal would be nice but I would prefer something like a shield over a HoT. I normally just cast my shield before a heavy or just roll dodge, like you need to do in graven deep so block mit. wouldn't be super useful. The only scenario I can think of it being good would be something like Unhallowed Grave HM where Kjalnars light attacks hit like a truck
Funnily enough, we actually did a fungal 1 run after the Graven Deep and I was going to leave it in, but the video was going to be way too long if I did that 😂
Now do it again, but on a warden (not my build but a proper tank one lol. Mine isnt quite tanky enough for the real hard modes I dont think, at least not without a big brain healer)
@@Azuraaaaaaaaahis looks like an interesting build to try and do. 😮😊I can see a gladiator style tank build when I return to the game in a couple of months.
welcome to the oakensoul fellowship!!! BEHOLD THE LIGHT SISTER!

I'm taking this video seriously and now I know what I should be running at all times because you said so!
I main an oakensorc. It works very well as a tank, and a healer as well. Cheers
Having fun while playing is all that matters, even with not so optimised build... but team may think otherwise 😁

I also enjoy nightblade tanking too, might do a NB oakensoul tank for the lols

You need a finder pug with 20k group dps and a fake healer, that's the real hard mode :)
I've been in those groups 😂

@@Azuraaaaaaaaaoh I absolutely love it when a tank can pull all of the adds together. It makes my 2H warden very happy. 😁
Nice video could You make one tanking fungal grotto 1 pls (vet) and hm if it's possible thanks :3

What arms pack is that for your sword and board in the beginning? 👀
It's the Balorgh arms pack!
@@Azuraaaaaaaaa thank you!
What outfit styles r u using?
i am using knight of the circle chests, prior therric shoulder, nighthollow legs, silver rose gloves and shoes! also the balorgh arms pack
Hi Azura, I am Azura. Bye.
😢 the shoutout. Thanks Azura!!!
Hahah, you're welcome!
the problem with being one bar on a tank is the amount of buffs/debuffs you'd lose so utility for your group would be down
yeah for sure! that's why i wanted to try to pack in as much as possible, but honestly a one bar tank will never be as good as a two bar tank.

I use terning tide mater sword and bord and mighty chudan endurance but I run a selfie tank
GV!! but why all the jomping??
I don't know, it's a bad habit I picked up ages ago. It stops me from sitting there and spamming the synergy button instead lol 😂
It's very common in PvP... Makes you harder to target and also you can avoid some ground AOEs that way.
Cleared vDOMhm with an oaken dk tank and 3 oaken wardens. Made the tank in about 20 minutes and decided to screw around
Wipe #3🤣🤣 you dodged instead of trying to block, "it was at that moment she knew" vibes.
Short answer- na
But you can pretend ... :D
