My friends and I each made quilts with the 10" blocks like the one in your video. Then we made arrangements to take them to a Ronald McDonald house across from a hospital. They were so happy to get the quilts. The ladies gave us a tour of the house being careful not to disturb any patients or relatives of patients. We had such a wonderful time that day. Each child gets to keep the quilt he or she recieves.

Jenny, I guess now after making 9 quilts of this pattern I can make my first comment. Thank you for being you Jenny. Your fun attitude inspired me to make my first quilt at the age of 62 and 11 months. I never learned to sew until I started watching video of you and Donna Jordan on You Tube. This pattern is fun and easy. If I can do it, ANYONE can. Wish I could figure out how to post a pic of one of my quilts.

This is my favorite tutorial because I am not a fast quilter. I began in 2008 and learned everything from you. I desperately wanted a quick top for my cousin who was being treated for cancer to take with her to chemo. I made this for her in a bright beautiful floral. I told her that every square was a happy memory of the fun we have shared. I made a border around it and told her that it was my love. I took the scraps and made another border of small squares and told her that each square was a prayer for her and the final outer border was a white on white with hearts as the pattern and I told her that was the love of God and that he was always with her. She kept her quilt throughout her entire battle. My aunt said that it brought her so much comfort and took it everywhere she went.

Visited Missouri Star Quilt Shop in Hamilton MO yesterday, June 5th, 2015. I took a quilt there to be quilted. Even though the shop was literally full of ladies, I was treated like royalty, as though I were the only person in the store. Deb was awesome! And such patience, while measuring for backing, binding etc. I just "discovered" this shop and boy what I have been missing! Most of the quilt shops I frequented in the Greater Kansas City area some 15 years ago or more when I started making quilts, have closed. And NOW I find all these Missour Star Quilt Co. tututorials on line. What a bonus. It doesn't get any better than this.
Love you Missouri Star and "Thank you so much, Deb"!

@@melanietaylor0401 I made several quilts with this method. I have made some that are 50 inches wide and 86 inches long. They are 5 blocks across and 9 blocks down (45 blocks). The quilt has a 2 inch border. The blocks are approximately 9 inch square when finished. I also have made baby quilts with this method. They are 47 by 38 inches. It has a 1 3/4 inch border. It is 4 blocks across and 5 blocks down. Total of 20 blocks. It is very easy to make whatever size you need with this method. Love it.

Dear msqc, I used 5" squares to make this block. I cut the squares at 2" and 3". Used the same technique, utilizing a 30's-style children's prints.
Quick and easy, i got all the blocks done in this evening, I just need to sew the rows and add a border and the top will be finished.
    So much fun. So cute.

I just finished putting this quilt top together using Daisy Splash by Jane Dixon. I had a little trouble getting the whole thing done without any matching blocks side by side. Including ripping seams, it took 9 hours. For my first quilt, I guess that's not too bad. I've sewn curtains, Halloween costumes, and clothing. After watching Jenny's tutorials, I got the quilting bug. I used my new Singer 9960 that my husband gave me for Christmas. I laid this out in 6 rows of 7 blocks and it measures 4.5' x 5'2" (just the top, no borders yet). Don't know how to post a picture. Thanks, MSQC.

I'm new to quilting and have been looking at lots of videos to learn the best way of doing everything. Your videos are amazing! I can't believe how easy you make it look. Today I viewed one of your videos one time, went into my sewing room and actually made a block without having to view the video again. Thanks for making it so easy to understand! This video really wow'd me!!!

I only discovered this video a couple of months ago and I love it but I only used 16 squares and a border as I don't make big quilts only couch quilts. It's a great pattern and very easy to follow as I don't like set out patterns and this one is a suprise every time you sew the pieces together. I'm now making another one using more colourful fabrics. Thank you Jenny you do a wonderful job. I live in Australia.

Did you use another layer cake for the border? What sizes are the white?
I love the whole quilt! Great ideas and great tutorials! Thanks!!!

I love this quilt! You can take fabrics that may not be too good on their own and pair them up and make something fantastic. This is a great technique for a baby quilt. Easy and fun!

Thank you Jennie for another tutorial for us semi beginners to try. I started quilting about 10 years ago but due to health issues I had to stop doing everything, I started back a couple of years ago and I am loving the creative process. Your tutorials give me confidence to keep quilting, I am making quilts for all of grandchildren. Thank you.

Even after all these years, I still love this quilt block for layer cakes. I finally found it again (but not after initially panicking that it may have been removed from your playlist!) and I have a couple of layer cakes ready to roll for it. Thanks Jenny! My week has been made. You go girl!

This is the 5th quilt I ever did, but the first that after watching it inspired me to pull out fabrics I had on hand and make a quilt. Later I used this same pattern to make one for my niece. This one will always have a special place in my heart.

Thank you Jenny for all your great tutorials, I love watching them for inspiration. Last night I started this layer cake quilt for my sister in laws 50th later this year. I watched and paused all the way through as I was making the quilt, so easy and great to have an in house tutor at my fingertips. Love this channel. Wished I lived close by, but Australia is just too far. Giuliana Hudson from Sydney.

I so love this quilt. My daughter wants to get into quilting and this would be a perfect first quilt for her. NO SEAMS to match up. So cute.
also, thank you for using regular machines, not those $3000 dollar machines. They are real nice and all, but I cannot afford one and seeing quilts made on machines like I use really encourages me. I piece on my grandma's old portable Kenmore and quilt on a very old Singer in a cabnet, also from my grandma. We never quilted together while she was alive:(
