Eh, this was neat, and well done, but I'm just discovering Murphy's work, and only heard "A Fifth of Beethoven" for the first time right before this. Definitely prefer the Beethoven one. I kinda feel that the inclusion of Symphony no. 40 in this was rather gratuitous or heavy handed (in context of the rest of the piece), but the Fifth Symphony in the Beethoven one fit a lot better with the rest of the musical setting.
Guillaume Larouche-Gagnon this is disco. Classical is great but not groovy. You can take a polka melody and play it in a funky arrangement, yet that doesn't make polka funky.
Shit!!! I had to stick on my white suit and platforms and strut my ass to this booty shakin' groove. I knew Walter Murphy's Fifth Of Beethoven but had no idea just how much he kicked fonky ass. I'm going to actively search out his back catalogue, if it's as good as this!!!!!
Bueno respeto las opiniones fuertes en relación con este interprete, pero no hay nada de vulgar en ello; considero que es una forma de expresión musical, finalmente en su interpretación está el concepto musical de cada sinfonía clásica. Espero me perdone Edgar.
This song is pure brilliance. It made perfect sense. Disco was the 2nd coming of Classical music. If you broke down all the strings and horns in Disco, you had pure Classical brilliance. So, Walter brought the 2 together....brilliant! xoxo The Clarences

it was actually mixes like this in the 70's that got me thru the disco stuff back then. I would have gone mad without tunes like this, and bands like Eaarth Wind and Fire , and ELO etc.... not to mention a touch of Larry Graham and a bit of Stanley Clarke
I never expected a song like this to become a big big disco hit song this is the only song of Walter Murphy I liked very much in my opinion one of his best he's ever done 🙂👍
whoitisnot bear in mind he could only use the few passages most people know. And then, the old Iminor - IV 7th filler all over the place. Still I agree, the result sucks.
If ANYONE can provide the Walter Murphy track "Your Planet Or Mine" in any digital form, I will be forever grateful! This was featured as the b-side to the 45 RPM Themes from E.T. and also on the Best of the Movies compilation which both released in 1982.
Because percusion elements in orchestra came from the Turkish Jenizars, then by cultural association classical songs that included a percussion part were called turkish until the times that they were a common instrument in an orchestra
@@PastyLoveri did what i could to listen to everything. I downloaded his songs one by one and add them to mu playlist as a local file and add to them album photo i downloaded so i guess it is possible
See what you Miss when you only listen to A Fifth of Beethoven.
True statement lol

This guy was ahead of his time!
We had no choice. Radio stations only played 5th Of Beethoven. I never heard this till now.
Agreed! Walter Murphy is the TRUTH!!!
All 80 down votes came from Salieri.
Excellent humour 👍👏😂
Hilarious.
He must've been tired of making all these fake accounts since it's only gone up of 11 since then.
Hahaha Hilarious!!! 😂😂😂
I love how he creatively fused classic music with disco and funk!
I bet Mozart would have loved this!
That's just awesome... It's always surprising to see how groovy classical music can be.

r/wooooosh
Mozart would have grooved to that music, if he was alive in the 1970s.
This IS what he would have written, if he was alive in the 1970s!
