A great voice makes a great singer, because majority of people have creaky voice, they can't make neither mouse, nor nightingale sounds, they are just in the middle of voice mediocrity so try to speak as they can. I personally admire great singers because as I believe it's not only great voice and hard work, but incredible patience because it's crystal: one wrong movement or action and it has gone. It's true gift from God and great voices are given as rarely as any kind of ingenuity is given: one person in a family, sometimes even in a country, in a generation etc. And it's a present for listeners to enjoy listening of sounds as no musical instrument can make sounds more beautiful than human voice does.
It may be too late to contribute to these 'comments' ? Why are so many people so unkind about the programme/presenter? It (the programme ) opened my eyes a little bit to the world of music. Top marks to everyone.... Except, perhaps, the sound engineers? No, I'm not being unkind - but such a good programme deserves better. To be fair I should say that the problem may be with my ancient laptop, or antique lugholes.
You can't wish or work your way into being an opera singer if you're not born with the right physical equipment. Otherwise, Florence Foster Jenkins wouldn't be such an icon of the ridiculous.
I absolutely agree with you there. This must be the worst interview I've ever came across, she managed to make my favorite singer/actor (who I think is very talented) looked like a loser. She can't even articulate her own sentences and her comments and follow-up questions are so irrelevant and silly.
Julian Ovenden has such an incredible voice. I wished he would come to America and so a show......

A rich voice is identified while speaking. Rebecca & Julian have not mastered their "talking" voices.
