Not so much for the aspect, but more in order not to change the original level design. For example, there are "rooms" with one screen of width, and in 320 mode, I would be forced to draw additional columns of tiles that were not in the original game.
Wow... it looks and sounds amazingly fantastic! This version of Rondo of Blood is destined to be one of the best works in recent times! Without a doubt, the game we deserved 30 years ago...

@@elmegumi Even now, after all their trying, there's still multiple areas where the genesis simply doesn't match the Super Nintendo and never ever will, but they'll keep on trying because they simply cannot cope with over three decades of playing second fiddle. And despite all their effort in modern times, they can never ever go back and change history where the Super Nintendo handily won the 16-bit console war and put the genesis in its place. It's recorded in the books for all time. As a primarily Nintendo gamer, it's been kinda interesting watching all things sega try to become more Nintendo, while Nintendo has never even remotely looked back in sega's direction. Long story short: Super Nintendid what genesis didn't. Nintendoes what sega don't.
I would not like to break the original game design, and adding techniques from SOTN will certainly break it. Even now, I can literally run this level in 10 seconds just by jumping over everyone. Therefore, I don't plan on adding run and other techniques from SOTN, and this is added as a joke in the video. The only thing I'm considering is adding is adding Richter from SOTN (in PSX and Saturn variants) as secret, bonus characters.

Hey just wanted to mention this, although this has been a pretty hard task in itself, i love the prologue from rondo of blood, will that fight be included on the genesis version?
Porting to sega cd is pointless when MSU-MD/MD+ exists, the only added benefit is using the cutscene from the original game besides the music I think within the near future we will get some sort of fmv playback possible like msu-1 for snes

Damn nice job! Say uh I have a genesis model 1 I’d like to try it on there sometime. Hell if analogue pocket can play this version I might just beat the game this way lol. Or if I get a flash cart for my actual Genesis model 1
I'm using a xgm audio driver with 4pcm, but 1st channel is used by music, so there are 3 channels left for sounds, which seems to be more than enough, but i need to distribute them correctly so that they don't mute each other.
If you manage to make the entire game and have it just like the original with maybe even some graphical additions here and there, which should be entirely possible since the stock genesis is more capable than the stock PC Engine in pretty much every way other than colours (hopefully it doesn't lose too much there), this will be the version I'll be adding to my Super Nintendo Mini. And I actually want you to get rid of the CD audio there too, or at least have a version without it, as it means it will take up far less memory and is better for what I personally want. I already have the original that I play on a PC emulator just fine and dandy, but it would be kinda fun to have it on my hacked Super Nintendo Mini alongside the other hundred plus choice games from multiple retro consoles that are on there currently. Now it's just a matter of whether you can truly deliver the full game and match the stellar quality of the original, or if this is yet another never to be completed demo of a game that's actually already available as a fully complete and stunning version elsewhere. . . .
@@rafaelantonio6765 It can emulate all the old 2D consoles. And, yeah, the full Neo Geo version of Real Bout could be played on the SNES Mini as far as I'm aware.
Nice work, but the sound effects from the PC Engine are terrible, specially the weapons. If only it could use the sounds from the PSX or Dracula XX Snes versions would be much better.
