Great to hear about this project. The graphics are not so surprising as the Mega Drive was already more powerful graphically, but this rendition of the soundtrack is really amazing.
I feel like it should have released back in the day for the Sega CD as well. Sega CD already had some ports of PC Engine CD titles like Lords of Thunder, this would have been perfect to port to Sega CD
it probably would've sold even slightly more units if this existed on it too

This is phenomenal. I love homebrew projects especially of the retro backporting of official games from more advanced hardware down to a much more underpower architecture... the technical marvel and undertaking, especially done by passionate fans always leaves astonished and impressed.
Hope, if there's enough interest, to see a full Genesis/Mega Drive port of the game even with liberties taken... and even if just Richter is the only playable character implemented and some stages cut down in some of the alternate paths. Especially if it can run on actual hardware too. This is incredible.

Yes, I haven’t done much work with sound yet. It seems they play in 1 channel, and the volume of sounds and music is also not consistent, but this is not a priority yet.

Absolutely fantastic
This one seems like a great game to port or rewrite for the SEGA CD. You get to keep the FMVs and music and just focus on the codeitself. Plus Sega CD has the advantage of being able to play burned disk for people without ever drives.

Thanks. In the original game, there was just a suspicious niche in the wall, which seemed to hint that there must be some kind of secret here. But, unfortunately, as it turned out over the years, it was just a hole in background and nothing more, and it was impossible to get there. Just for fun, I added this secret passage, at the end of which lies Richter’s alternative outfit/sprite from the Saturn version of Symphony of the Night.

Thank you. Yes, there is a problem with the sound, i need to split the sounds into different channels. I also seem to have sorted out the music lagging by switching to the xgm1 driver. At least I haven't noticed any such problems with it yet.

This is excellent. Now the real trick is to commit to it.
His progress has been impressive, he has already adapted most of the game's mechanics, stairs, jumping, attacks, weapons. enemies and bosses need to be adapted, but the basic mechanics for reproducing each phase are there, will there be the two-headed dragon phase from dxc?
Very cool, but why not do a Mega CD version? Or even better, a cart/CD combo?

Крупные спрайты и графические элементы выглядят прекрасно. Каков текущий Rom size? Как по мне, на этом уровне замечательно смотрелся бы эфект мерцающей прозрачности красного цвета, чтобы добавить ощущение доносящегося до этой арены цвета от огня.

Спасибо, звуки отрипаны из оригинала, ром около 2 МБ, драйвер XGM2, но буду возвращаться на XGM1, т.к. XGM2 подтормаживает.

Thank you. I would really appreciate help with music, because I need to adapt music from WAV to VGM tracker format. But It's required specific knowledge and skills in working with tracker formats and an application like deflemask. I found a musician who agreed to help me with one track - "prelude to the boss". But for the demo of the stage 1, I at least still need - "boss battle", "stage completion" and "game over" tracks. It would be great if you could help me with some of this.

This is the current progress at the moment. Current plans are intro 1, 2, prologue, level 1.
