I have never seen this one. I will have to look it up. Oddly enough I have had the original Dracula X on PC engine for years. And I never actually sat down and played through it. I bought it just to have it back when it was cheap, and then my turboduo quit reading CDs. To be honest, it looks good, but feels a little clunky compared to Super Castlevania on SNES. I find myself trying to swing the whip in different directions and then remember that you can't do that in Dracula X.
I personally rank castlevania 4 as one of the best next to Rondo and Sotn. I remember my brother bought a snes and Super Castlevania 4 was the first game we played and it just blew my mind…Simply a Masterpiece
More or less, yes. Konami was planning a Rondo Of Blood sequel but it was cancelled in favor of SOTN. This looks like someone took whatever assets were available of the canceled game and made a fan version of what could have been.
