IMHO the 14,000 miles are actual. Most M998 Humvee sit in a motor pool most of the time, especially if it was assigned to a guard unit. When you pulled the engine cover the motor is spotless. Nice truck that brings back many memories, I wish I could have it here but not meant to be. Good luck and God bless.
I think my wife heard me yelling at the screen a 1/4 mile away when he bid on that pile in the last video . The sad thing is you cannot trust ANYTHING these auctions say...even the high end ones. BEFORE you consider burning the mechanic, try having a sincere and honest conversation with him. Let him know that his diagnosis didn't solve the problem. Show him the receipt for the work you had done that fixed it. Ask him how he might like to make things right with you. I wouldn't feel right about charging someone for an incorrect diagnosis. Maybe he won't charge you. Maybe he will discount the amount. If he still wants to charge you the full amount, ask him if he would explain his perspective. I think it's worth a try because then he gets the opportunity to have integrity and try to work something out with you. Good luck! Love your content!!!

However I do think Barrett-Jackson kinda misrepresented the Hummer though by saying Kevlar coated To be fair yes most 2 part spray in bed liners has some Kevlar in it. But by them advertising it as a true military jeep and Kevlar coated most people is going to think they are bidding on a bullet proof jeep and that's just simply not true. They should have promoted it as a retired military Hummer with a full body bed liner for added durability
Pay the mechanic for coming out $100 And for changing the battery terminal thats it. Show him you fixed it for way less and the truck is running good now without a single injector
This is how I personally feel about it. Why pay for diagnosis when it was not accurate. Pay the fee for coming out and the new battery terminals and call it even. The guy won't like it but you will never need him again anyways. 😂😂😂 Also you're not worried about him smearing your name cuz internet trolls handle that for you already.
Craig, consider approaching the guy who mis-diagnosed it and just explaining what you learned later was the real issue, and that you're frustrated about the misdiagnosis.... without directly asking to not pay him.
