I'm a little saddened by the lack of Orga though. I know he's not the most popular Kaiju but Godzilla 2000 was the first real Godzilla movie I watched (ignoring the one with fish and Matthew Broderick) and to this day Orga remains my favourite. I guess there's still the possibility of DLC though.

The reason why 89 Godzilla is the main one in the game is because the Heisei Godzilla is the most popular in Japan. Just look at anything Godzilla from Japan and 95% of it is either the Heisei one or the 1954 Gojira.

I'm pretty sure in my town I was the only person to pre order this game for what I think was a full 60 dollar purchase. Traded it in couple years later, but after watching SBFP this game my curiosity looked up how much this game is going for used on amazon. Most copies are over 150 dollars....wow.
MechaGodzilla 2 in this is the 1975 one from "Terror of MechaGodzilla", the sequel to 1974's "Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla. In ToMG he was rebuilt to attack Earth alongside Titanosaurus. In both movies MG lost his head, but in ToMG the aliens were ready for that and put a smaller head inside the neck so he could still fight. That's one of the best things about this game, the level of detail and nods to the films. Rodan's design is from his premiere film, "Rodan", and ll of the monsters' intro cutscenes are from their first appearances in the films, save for Rodan whose cutscene is from Final Wars.
I am one of th few who loves Hedorah, sure he is just pollution, he was amazingly powerful also I love that design of his. The 2004 design was great too, it's great that this guy finally gets to appear in these games.

Honest to God question, I don't think this game deserves to be $60. I'd expect this to be $30 - $40, to anyone who has bought and played this game - as a Godzilla fan - how good is it?

I really wanted to see the hype of Matt unlocking all the monsters and such, also I was hyped for them too.

Actually, the dancing Godzilla was from "Godzilla Vs. Monster Zero," or "Invasion Of Astro-Monster," which was released in 1965. The DLC for this game is of the Godzilla from 1964, designed after the Godzilla from "Mothra vs.Godzilla."

I'm a fan of Godzilla, though I do admit that I haven't watched every single Godzilla movie and only know a handful of all the monsters he's ever fought, but I absolutely love how there's Mecha Godzilla and SPACE Godzilla, that's just Godzilla with crystal shoulder pads lol And of course Mothra and both Ghidorahs are epic!

Maybe they picked that Godzilla as default because that one probably made the most people care about it. Like with how many people cried watching the end of Godzilla vs Destoroyah.
Hypest video game on PS4. Lumber through a bunch of low-poly models, stand around mashing attack until you get few inches bigger, do same to beat bigger guys. But it's for Godzilla fans so who cares, they will lap up and love anything with Godzilla on it.
TheRadioSquare I'd enjoy this at a price drop. I AM a big Godzilla fan, but I see the complaints and hope that another one in the future can introduce more content.
