Yummy looking recipe.. going to try it this weekend..
Here it is to save anyone else having to type it out
Sliced red onion
Sliced garlic
A few cherry tomatoes chopped in half
Fry in some olive oil
Add can black beans
Add can jackfruit
Fry some more
Add 1T tomato puree, lots of harissa paste, dash of water
Cook for 15 - 20 minutes
Add (a bag?) of spinach and a small can of sweetcorn
Serve on wraps with avocado
Hey Athena! Would you be able to make a video about basic compass and map skills? And how to take bearings, especially with dense fog?
Hey! It’s something I would like to do at some point but requires a little planning and prep! Hopefully soon though 😀
Hi Athena. Another lovely video. I see you are reading Braiding Sweetgrass - really great book that everyone should read and its message is most definately one we need more than ever.
Wonderfully uncomplicated video. Thanks for sharing
Thank you ☺️
Wow what a beautiful place I felt relaxed just watching the video amazing scenery and Oslo enjoyed his ice cream happy days
What a perfect relaxing time. Fantastic video thanks for sharing
Thanks Athena.
Beautiful looking spot.
Cheers Ian
Great Vlog loving the camping and cooking nothing better than cooking in the outdoors so relaxing as demonstrated by Oslo in the tent.
Agree! Oslo loves camping ☺️
Nice video Athena the Peak District looks so lovely this time of year. Thanks for sharing another great video :)
Thank you ☺️
This video was so lovely to watch and has inspired me to go visit the Peak District even more and make those wraps 😊 Can't wait for your Ramble guidebook to come out!
I am also reading Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin at the moment and absolutely love it, the book makes me appreciate everything so much more, hope you are enjoying it too. 🍓
Thank you for sharing this video.
Oslo did a fine job supervising tent setting up......lovely filming.
Haha he did indeed 😂
I ate Jackfruit straight off the tree when I was in Sri Lanka - tastes like a cross between banana and pineapple. It's unripe jackfruit that is tinned and used in curries in Sri Lanka - also been to Castleton many, many times. Nice to see the Peak District again - thank you.
I don’t know what it is but I smile all the way through your videos.
Aw that’s so nice!
Ah this looked so fun :) I agree, there really is nothing like camping (even with the restless nights)! x
So true! This trip made me want to do lots more this summer xx
Another fabulous vlog. Beautiful scenery, a handsome 🐶❤ and perfect hiking weather. Thanks for sharing.
You did exactly the right thing moving close to the peaks I am from Sheffield and all our lives we have spent in the peaks. I live 2 minutes from the A57 so I can be there quickly and then Bradfield is close too. Also lived in Eyam for 4 years a long time ago I have always felt lucky to live here
Hey Athena! Another really lovely film. I see you are reading Braiding Sweetgrass - a great book and its message is needed now more than ever.
I was wild camping on Stanage Edge last weekend was a stunning evening and morning shame I could only stay for a night. Loving your videos thank you very much always a positive when you post them.
Sounds awesome! Hope you enjoyed your trip 😀
Athena Mellor it was amazing. Luckily I only live 45 minutes away. Had a day out in Hathersage today trying to shake off lockdown. It’s been a long time and need to get out in the Peaks for my mental wellbeing ❤️
Stephen, pretty killer last name ya got there
Justin Goodwin yep I pretty much think so 😀
Thank you Athena for sharing such a beautiful and pleasant place, with good company and good weather, you can't wish for better !!
Greetings from Sesimbra Portugal !!
I camped there last year. Cracking place. Love from Bergen
What an absolutely exquisite chill out video. I always head to the Lakes or Dales, scarcely going beyond Kinder Scout. I have to get over to the Peak District soon.
HI!! Oh my got! When you said about your wooden spoon, telling the lady who lives in the tiny house, and makes lots of wooden things, I thought Wow! because I've watched "Living big in a Tiny house" and remembered her! Such a great connection :)
Haha so funny! It was so nice to connect with Flo 🙂
@@RambleFamily you two are so lovely and inspiring! I live in UK and me and my partner like trekking, foresting, mountaining and wild camping. I have so much respect of you as you are so independent and brave!! I need my partner to read maps!! x
Those Jackfruit wraps looked amazing! Another great video, can't wait to read the book!
Thank you!😀
Love the opening and ambience with music again. The collaboration sounds exciting and I looking forward to the book and to see you on TED talk
Haha not sure about that but thank you ☺️
I love your camping vlogs 😊 I've wanted to go camping for a while and your blogs let me experience it with you which is so nice xx😊
Such a lovely video! It takes quite a bit of time to make such videos... thank you for the effort you put in. Is wonderful!
Thanks so much 🤗
Exciting news 😀😀. I’m so looking forward to this book. I know exactly what you mean about driving from place to place and parking up being tiring.
Ah thank you!! It’s so tiring but very fun of course 🙃
Beautiful video, thank you! I would love to see a video on what food you bring for camping on the trail, for one or more nights, as I struggle for lightweight (mainly vegetarian) inspiration!
I’ve in nearby the Peak District my whole
life but haven’t seen as much as I should have. Cannot wait to read your guide.
Ah thanks so much!! So excited to publish it 🤗
Awesome video, I’ve taken the places and added them to myself and my girl friends todo list. Cheers, looking forward to reading your book
Thanks! So glad I can offer some inspiration for your trips 😀
I had a tin of jack fruit for over a year now. It turns out I can cook it. Thank you.
Lovely video,,I love the peak District,,lm lucky to live close,,, stanage is awsome 👍

Great videos! Couldn't wait to go to Scotland after the lockdown, might have to go to the lake district for a week before... Can't wait for the book! Many thanks from Quebec, Canada.
This is such a lovely video! Your vlogs are always so amazing and have inspired me to go on longer hikes! I actually just came back from a 13-mile hike and while my legs are super sore, it was totally worth it. Thanks and I'm looking forward to reading your guidebook!
Sounds amazing!

I hope Oslo's salary goes up when Athena Mellor studios releases its book! He's a hard working member of the team. Lovely video as always Athena! Was in Stanage Edge myself last weekend, got extremely wet when hiking up the trinnacles on Saturday as well! All the best - Martin
Looking forward to your book :-) the jackfruit dish looked perfect 👌 Oslo looked like “ what I missed it smells like food “ :-) fine video
Haha he always comes downstairs at home when he hears our plates scraping... I think he missed it in the tent!
Qué videos más bonitos haces!!!
Da gusto seguirte.
Gracias por compartir
Great video.
another beautiful video. fitting that all three of you are having ice cream because on the day of posting (7/19) here in US it's national ice cream day!
Haha great!!
Really lovely video 😊 I'm planning on trying out this recipe when I go camping next week!
Wow... thank you so much for your time and effort to make your vids and posting and etc etc
Fantastic days out..... thanks 😎👍

Nice video 👍 lots of greenery and scenery 👌. Love your editing 😉
I explored some of the Peak District yesterday and we almost camped at Edale. Really looking forward to returning there ☀️ 🌲 🌳
Ah nice! Edale is lovely I think xx
Athena Mellor yes we will definitely stay there in the future! xx
Ah I'm glad the superstar that is Oslo got his own ice-cream, bless him. Lovely video Athena. On my own 'staycation' at the minute in Aviemore. Walked up Meall a' Bhuachaille today which you & Amira did & doing Bynack Mor tomorrow. Look forward to your guide book coming out. See you on the next vid mate xx
Ah sounds great! Love it up there. Hope you enjoy 😀
Hope you're enjoying Aviemore Michael, Bynack Mor is one of my favourites 👍🏃
@@TheDeterminedRunner Thank you. Yeah it's a great walk in & the Barns are well worth a detour. Did Ben Vrackie from Pitlochry yesterday. One of the best 360 degree views I've seen
Amazing places! Beautiful nature! 🌿🌼💕
Thank you!
I'm reading Braiding Sweetgrass too! Loooovvveee it!
So good!!
I love your videos, would love to hike Scotland someday (I’m a Wallace in Tennessee). I also love the music in your videos. This one you have Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors playing.. He lives close to where I live... God bless!
Excellent
Another sister!
I'm off to Sandwood Bay in a few days - an easy 4 mile walk in but so idyllic.
Ah nice! Harvey keeps telling me we should go there 🤗 enjoy!!
@@RambleFamily It's near Cape Wrath; it's considered one of Britain's outstanding wild beauty spots.
PS - I expect Harvey will know about the famous ghost!
Absolutely loved this video! Looked like a great trip x
Great blog. Looking forward to the book especially because I live in Belper. FYI eating beans and sleeping in a confined space NOT a good idea! Lol
Haha!
Hi, I always look up the artist's music and I tend to melt away. Would love to read and follow your guide books
👍 Bardzo ładne są wasze domy z kamienia,super 🙃👌🤠
Love watching your vids they have really inspired me to get back in to camping and hiking since i stopped 12 years or so ago when my dad was diagnosed with dementia so i left being a cub leader and adventure scouts behind to care for him he sadly passed away in December of 2018. But when he was younger he was in scouts and done alot of camping and hiking of the peaks and lakes iv even got old letters and post cards what he sent my gran all them years ago. i think he would want me to get back in to camping and hiking iv just purchased a ruck sack its a eurohike 65 litre but a friend has also given me a 85 litre mountain warehouse which i would use more of a winter bag and also for maybe longer trips plus i love the peak district as i did my dofe bronze up in the peaks.
Never give up doing something that you love bro
If you haven't already Athena. I would recommend you read 'The Book of Hygge' . I think you'd enjoy it. You lead a very Hygge lifestyle.
Lovely inspiring video again. A Visit to Hartington cheese shop is highly recommended. Will you be putting your recipes in a book?
You can buy a little device called a sun compass, that will enable you to know which direction the Sun will rise and set in.
That way, you can set your tripod up in advance and not miss any shots.
They don't cost very much and weigh about the same as an ordinary compass.
They let you know where the Sun rises and sets for each month of the year. It just helps plan the shots for a pleasing composition.
That sounds great! I’ll definitely look into it. Thank you. Do you know if you can get it as an app too?
@@RambleFamily : No idea I'm afraid. I've had mine for about twenty years. The web site noted on the plastic base plate is :-
www.flightlogistics.tv
In the intervening years an app has probably been produced to do the same thing. This is just a compass mounted on a plastic base plate, with angles marked on it for sunrise and sunset for each month of the year.
I have found it very useful over the years. It is accurate to within a few degrees, so makes composing a landscape photo much easier.
@@RambleFamily : I forgot to mention, there is a new Comet visible in the sky from the UK. Your sister may be able to get some scenic shots with the Comet in the background as a nice bonus. It might make for added interest in your book in years to come.
Beautifully crafted video. You inspire me to walk more! My only feedback is the volume. The music is loud but when you talk your a little quiet.
Yep, one has to keep adjusting the volume throughout the video
Ah sorry about that!! I will work on it in the next one 😀 xx
No problem 😊 great video gal! Xx
Any chance you plan to do guided walks in the peaks? I'd love to meet other women who like walking! Xx
Your dog is adorable!
I went to peak district 2 days ago two 🤯
Ah Braiding Sweetgrass is the best book!
Lovely video as always 😍i was wondering if you could maybe share so more camping or can life recipes/ cooking essentials :) I would be very interested in that 😊
I would love to!! For now I’ll just share little snippets in videos but could make some specific camping recipe videos too 😊
Lovely video. You are very inspiring. Could you make a video about everything you need when camping with a dog please?
I could do! We need to figure out how best to camp with Oslo as we don’t have the best set up yet, but when we do I will make a video 😀
I went to Stanage Edge a couple of days ago. Loved it.
So glad! It’s such a beautiful place ☺️
Great video! Would you mind telling me where you got your blankets from please they are ace!
Lovely spot to camp. 🙂I checked out Anna's Instagram....she's very talented. 👍🙂
Ah thank you! She’s very talented 🙂
I really like that you’ve put where you’re walking down at the bottom! Also I was wondering If Northumberland National Park is included in your book? X
This book will just be the Peak District but I plan to do a whole series hopefully and also expand the website! I would love to do Northumberland National Park 🙂
sounds great! I look forward to reading it when it’s done :)
Hi Athena I am looking at buying a two man tent , any ideas on what to buy ? Love videos by the way specially bread recepies!! Need robust one for high peaks etc thanks!!
Another great video:-) As always great music. send me a link when book comes out.
Thank you 😀
@@RambleFamily No Probs you do a great job
i used to love living in the peaks, but the house came with the job
Nice! :)
How long is Oslo's lead? And where can I get one?
Another great video. Very inspiring. This may be a bit random, but the retractable lead you have for Oslo seems much longer and sturdier than anything I've managed to find. Could you tell me where you purchased it?
Also, good luck with the guide book.
Hey! Thanks so much 🤗 the lead is Flexi Giant and is 10m. We got it from Amazon 😊
@@RambleFamily thanks so much, i'll have a look.
Look forward to your book Athena.
Thank you once again for a brilliant video!! Is there parking as such at the campsite or do you have to park somewhere else then get to it? Also do you need to get intouch with them prior or can you just turn up? Sorry im an absolute noob with this stuff currently... cant wait for your book sounds perfect ill definitely be keeping an eye out on how to get one once its out!
Hi Athena. What was the campsite called? Thanks 🏕
Beautiful vlog! Takes me back to growing up in the area! Will your book be available for international orders? I'd love a copy for the next time I'm in the UK! Looking forward to hearing all about it; I'm sure all your hard work will pay off!
I’m not sure yet but hopefully I can organise something 😀
Arh just bought some Jackfruit from Aldi for the first time today! 👍
Nice! So many delicious things you can do with it. I keep making jackfruit and spinach curry which is amazing too 😀
@@RambleFamily thanks I was wondering what to do with it. Chicpea curry is my favourite so will do some kind of curry me thinks. Great vlog and scenery btw, started some cycling loops from Hartington including Pymms chair 😨😨
Another fabulous video....😊 will there be an Instagram site/page for you’re sisters photography.....please?
Anna is on Instagram as @annapurnauna and you can see the photos at @ramble.guides 😀
Athena Mellor thank you....😊
Do you plan on doing a digital version of the book?
I’m not sure yet, but I could do if it will interest people 😃
@@RambleFamily Count me in!
loving the vlog... please what is the name of the song playing around @2:10 mark
Thanks Jamie! I’ll check the song name now for you 😀
Wish you would link the music you use.
Hi Athena,
Very interesting video, could please give me the campsite details. I look forward to reading your book.
Thank you. Jean-Pierre
It’s called North Lees Campsite near Hathersage. It’s managed by the Peak District National Park Authority and you can book online 🙂
Thank you very much for your reply.
Have a good evening.
You are so beautiful! Nearly as beautiful as the nature in your videos. Lol I'm kidding, love the vid!
That’s were that rare vulture is
Yes it is! Nearby at least. I hiked somewhere really near at the weekend but unfortunately didn’t see the vulture
Athena Mellor The vulture is massive it could have eaten your dog easily they some times hun sheep and lambs
If I tried to film my face after getting up at 4 a.m. my camera would crack and, if it didn’t, TH-cam would take down the video for the sake of common humanity.
Yummy 😋
hello! where is this place? you seem to be a very interesting beautiful girl. I like you
Peak District National Park, UK. She has a boyfriend, btw.
