Well said all of the contributors you all spoke very well. I fear we have a government who don't appear to listen to common sense and for all they claim to believe in the country and tourism its hard to see how.

The Scottish Government are hell bent on introducing this license. Despite all the well argued reasons why it will not work. The Government appear to dislike self catering businesses. This is despite the income the sector brings in. If you view the Scottish Government committee that considered this legislation, it becomes clear that the Government had no real evidence or reasoning. Let's hope the see sense. But I fear not. Good video and well argued .

This legislation needs to be withdrawn and the government needs to think again. Edinburgh has a problem that needs to be sorted and any changes should be applied to the places where they are needed. and they are not needed anywhere in rural Scotland. It is piling regulation on regulation and charging for it. It has the whiff of "We must do something about this because a lot of people are making a lot of noise during the Festival and the neighbours , including a lot of MSPs don't like it. Well done Sheila and all of you. It's rubbish.

Great vid Sheila. I have a serviced accommodation unit in Prestwick. We have the same tourism issues. Prestwick had 9 hotels at one time and now have 1 almost in Ayr. The town is the busiest night time economy in Ayrshire. There are regular festivals held in the town and surrounding areas that have upward of 10,000 in attendance. We have golf football racing to mention a few of championship events in St Ayrshire when people want to stay in Prestwick. I wrote to MP Sibbhon Brown and she fully supports the govt in that it is a social housing issue. She has no understanding of the service provided to tourist and the impact on local economy if there are no beds! Well done you for highlighting this however having read the govt agenda it looks like a done deal. Shocking.

There are several community gardens on Arran, but no allotments for rental as far as I know.

listen. youre supplying a service to the public. it must be regulated. if a b&b owner or airbnb owner cant afford 1500 (it cost me around 1k) then they arent running a business very well. you state that it brings 69bn to the scottish economy, all the accommodation costs go to the owner. nobody likes change. this time next year you wont even remember it.

The service provided is already regulated. This new legislation only adds unnecessary complexity and additional costs. It will not achieve its stated objectives.
