I'm from Quebec, there isnt alot of cases of corona but its climbing slowly and all schools are down , for some reason people fought over toilet paper, and its a rare item now😂
Hey mate I have a question, I have the MPS model that doesn’t have the factory HID lights it just has standard halogens, do I need a conversion kit or can these just plug in the same way the halogens are?
It is easier to jack up the car and remove the plastic undercover to access both fog lights at the same time. Undercover is the plastic cover that you remove for an oil filter change.
@@ColtonRichter facts. There's gotta be somewhere you can still do some sick canyon runs! I'm near the quebec border and there's some decent mountains and roads to rip on near me which the speed loves!
@@ColtonRichter all good i found some but i was trying to change mine and it seems like there is a metal square box instead of a plug i was wondering did you converted ur headlights from hid to led?
My speed is a 2008 Grand Touring with adjustable HID lights, my question is if I can switch to LED and if I will still have the adjustable system or not ?
I found that my 07 Mazda3 MPS has Xenon d2. It had this weird bulky metal thing I had to wrestle out before I could see any terminals. Would this be a mod that the previous owner has done?
@@ColtonRichter hmm, I just looked up the difference. It says Xenon is a kind of HID lamp. I looked on ebay, when I search for HID, the results all say Xenon. I look on the Balast, and it says HID. So I am a little unsure.
MPS's come factory with HID's, so that's probably what the "bulky" metal thing you're looking at is. So in other words, HID's are a ton better then LED's.
The clip for the bulbs is the worst, the last time I had to change the bulb it legit took me 2 hours (which in the end I just unscrewed the screw and took the clip completely out before re-screwing it back in with the new bulb lol
Mazda really did royally fuck these headlights apart from giving us a projector housing, that latch is full shit I bent mine on my oem headlights trying to put it back and that other dumb ass adaptor is dumb af too. But I grabbed some aftermarket new ones super cheap about 115 Australian bucks each. Trust me it's cheap and they are just as good if not better than the oem ones well in condition I got them in no sun damage and no bent clip, they didn't improve the fitting mechanism just works better as previous owners didn't butcher it first lol. Edit I got some really good h7 LEDs the beam pattern is way better than yours no offence at all I paid a lot for them and I went led evetthing high high beam is like a light bar lol illegal probably but no one will defect it because they wouldn't know any better and you have to dim high beams to on coming traffic anyway the low beam is cut off perfectly and has no ghosting like these do. I spent hours focusing them although it didn't do heaps it's just important how you aim the headlight bulb as well so get bulbs with the h7 bit 360 degrees adjustable collar. You can also get adaptors to compensate for the thickness but I just RIGGED mine also after buying some adaptors and them being too loose I wasn't waiting for the post again and wasting more money but just google h7 mazda led adaptor and go for a round design with a nice snug middle hole no bigger than needed for the led to fit through. I've found heaps of your videos useful and always refer to them for easy solutions of how things come apart. A1 auto also has some but nothing for custom stuff like yours more the mechanical side of it but between both there isn't much you can't find how to do 😊👌 Oh second edit, both high and low beams focus together so don't go looking for high beam focus it's all the same screws, can't believe us speed 3 didn't get the hid with auto leveling you guys get ripped off with every euro type feature always even though most cars have it now euro cars had them first for most things. I know your Canadian but your speed was US you said, that's so shitty how they rip US cars off of features, they do it with golfs too. Yes golf fan boy here and Americans get so many less features even if they wanted to pay in newer models.
I think it is so cool that there is a channel like this dedicated to the speed 3 platform and Mazda in general! Really cool keep up the good work!
Thank you! I appreciate the notice ❤
I love the way you progress the video
I'm in self quarantine and I look forward to these vids
Stay safe!
Nice setup. Could you drop a link for the headlights you bought for this install?
I try to do my last week find out they sell a kit for that on eBay 6.99 it's pretty much a plastic spacer
This was super useful! Thank you!

That goes for the whole world haha, happy toilet paper hunting!
What LED did you for the headlights i cant seem to find one that work
Hi guys.do u maybe know when will mazda japan supply parts again and when can we start ordering parts from rock auto etc.what date can we expect
It took me nearly an hour just to put replacement (non led/hid) I feel the pain of changing the bulbs
It's a strange one, once you kind of get the act of it it gets easier!
Hey mate I have a question, I have the MPS model that doesn’t have the factory HID lights it just has standard halogens, do I need a conversion kit or can these just plug in the same way the halogens are?
Need a conversion kit
Do you know if I can remove the fog light assembly housing through the fender liner like you did with the bulb without removing the bumper?
Yes, can't see much but guiding with hands is very helpful!
It is easier to jack up the car and remove the plastic undercover to access both fog lights at the same time. Undercover is the plastic cover that you remove for an oil filter change.
If you have a small screwdriver you can remove the corner undercovers for a little more access.
Where u from in Canada? I'm near the Ottawa area!
BC!
@@ColtonRichter sick. Gotta love bc for the epic mountains especially with a car like the speed!

awesome video man! can link the item of the led headlights? looking to buy some
You can find multiple on eBay, don't have the link unfortunately anymore. Sorry!
@@ColtonRichter all good i found some but i was trying to change mine and it seems like there is a metal square box instead of a plug i was wondering did you converted ur headlights from hid to led?
I converted halogens to LED's, you'll need a full conversion kit
My speed is a 2008 Grand Touring with adjustable HID lights, my question is if I can switch to LED and if I will still have the adjustable system or not ?
Couldn't answer that, sorry!
Did u need a load resister when u changed ur fog lights?
No
Load resistors are only required for turn signal's so that they don't hyperflash.

How do you adjust your headlights? Did you install 9006 LED? if yes how bright are they compared to the normal 9006 halogen?
To adjust, look for a adjustment screw.
9006 LED was installed, much more visibility.
What does a Mazda 3 s mean 2009
Top trim
What does The s stand for
I guess mine is a luxury package I’m not sure leather seats Bose speakers sunroof unless they all have them.
