The club is bigger than any player. When Eric abdicated it was truly heartbreaking. It was bad when Ruud, Beckham and Roy got kicked out and they were all genuine legends. Amorim will find someone better, more suited to his system. All will be good
It all feels very sad, I loved Rashford when he burst on the scene. I think it’s right for all parties but he has given us some great memories. Wish him all the best if/when he goes
* All those debut goals * All the big 6 goals * That night in Paris * That free kick against Chelsea * The 30 goal season * The multiple 20+ goal seasons * The Europa league, FA & Carabao cups * Literally broke your back for this club * The Martial & Lingard bromances * The fact you put your career on the line in order to get kids fed. * The work in Manchester schools * Academy graduate * Top scorer for Mourinho, Ole & Ten Hag * Played anywhere needed across the front line * Endured ridiculous amounts of abuse from the people that should have protected you Thank you Marcus Rashford MBE. You'll always have my respect!
😂😂 mate what a whopper. Blokes stole a wage for 2 seasons, thinks he’s too big for the club, couldn’t even bother himself to run for the club. Let it go to his head when people praised him. Suffered abuse ? Hasn’t even had 10% of the abuse that the likes of beckham and Rooney suffered. He had his moments but didn’t perform enough simple as that.
@@benooo3863 lad your a nobody, just like us. He is a Manchester born Manchester United fan who graduated at United and played and scored for his dream club. Grow up. Carelessly hating on others for no reason won’t get you to far. He’s never intentionally hurt our club. Altho his head went and he hasn’t got to the level we have seen from him doesn’t mean he has done it out of spite.
I've got no problem with Rashford saying this. I don't think we can have it both ways - we can't be ok with the club saying "We are actively looking to sell this player", but not ok with the player saying "Respectfully, I'm ready to leave". It's not like he was slagging off the club or making petulant comments. I think it's totally fair enough for him to think "I know things haven't been working for a while, I don't see this getting any better, maybe this is for the best".
I think the decisions already been made in the background, this isn't a petulant Pogba type of scenario. The January window opens soon and the timings no coincidence. It's basically a PR piece where he's selling himself with buzz words like "ready for a new challenge" and stating his desire to get his England place back. My only worry is will any top clubs be willing to give him that opportunity? Maybe PSG could work as he's flirted with them in the past?
I get what your saying but being at a company that has nurtured you so much and you have excepted the wage and new contract you should at least try - try and work - look like your trying. This guy looks like he would struggle to take a shit without Insta getting involved
I can’t accept that he’s just given up after the weekend, Jay. This has been coming for 2yrs, he hasn’t been happy. I’m sad to see him leave but I want to see him playing with a smile on his face again.
Where exactly is he going to go? If you're not happy, going somewhere else is not going to solve it. His problem whatever it is has not been caused by Manchester United
Fair play, he’s been one of the highlights in a really poor period for our club. We’ve struggled as fans watching this, I can’t imagine what it’s like being in the middle of it. Will always be a red, if he leaves good luck to him, thanks for the memories.
Not to sure about that. With his work rate and general no fucks given. I think he is being asked to train and be a player. I honestly think he has the life and dosent give a fuck. Football training and playing is to hard when he has so much money. No wife no kids no worries and absolutely minted for playing football. Love to get him working for me for a week and that would wake him up - much like most fans
Its not necessary for him to admit that by not displaying the right attitude & application over the last at least 3 yrs that he was in fact taking for granted the opportunity that MUFC the institution had afforded him in education riches wealth & security in his life & that of his family. Sometimes in life when security is provided to such a degree to an individual who over time begins to take it all for granted, then complacency can set in if not guarded against. By taking for granted that which provides us with wealth & security is a mistake to be guarded against at all costs. Complacency in life can & will occur as a result of poor judgement & an unappreciative attitude by an individual, this cannot be hidden It will show up however much one tries to conceal it. When Standards slip & are not maintained, they will undoubtedly show up be played out & noticed in public, such poor attitude will always be noticed. As long as in the maturing process one can be admit to oneself & own the flaws in our attitude then they can be worked on.
I disagree with Jay's point that Marcus should've given a statement of "I would work to get my place back" I think that statement would've given him more hate. Anyone who's posting anything positive about Rashford these days are receiving a lot of negative comments and most of those from unified fans not even rivals. So him basically making a statment that I want to stay would've been first of all "a lie" because he doesn't feel like that , and secondly it would've done more bad for him than good and I am at this stage I just want him to get less hate upto the point he leaves so I think statement is fine.
True, he put out that statement everytime after game and people clown him about that. Now he made a statement he wants to leave, these two clowns still rattled. Can never win with these two
Also, it would have defeated the whole purpose. This interview was basically him telling other clubs that "Yes, United want to sell me. Yes, I am interested in leaving" to generate interest. Because they wouldn't come for him if they didn't think there was a deal to be done.
You can't be disappointed an article was in the guardian saying Utd are willing to sell . United basically said you can go. Aren't you disappointed in Utd saying they will sell?
If anything a player with years left on his contract wanting to leave would put the price up, as the club could say they don’t want him to go. Although in this case I doubt it’ll make much difference.
You can't bang on about his timing with it, after the club have clearly told journalists that they're open to selling him just before and after the derby .
I think this sums up his attitude. If you are at the club you love, why would you leave? If that was me, I would be doing everything I could to drag them out of the hole. I would be leading the way. Instead he gives up. Basically, he was younger and watched United winning all the time and wanted to be a part of that glory. But didn't realise the hard yards the likes of Scholes, Giggs, Neville, Beckham etc had to put in. If he'd lead us back to the top and then said - I've got us back to where we belong, now it's time for a change and to hand the torch over to others that are ready. Different story then, isn't it.
This is sad but the right thing for all parties. Hate the amount of hate Rashford has received through the years which has obviously worn him down when we as United fans should have been trying to raise him up like we should with all our players. The hate unjustified but the criticism was justified. But even the timing of this statement could’ve been better. Always sad when a homegrown red leaves.
man stop... where is the accountability for Rashford? has he been doing his job? which player you know gets hate from their fanbase if they are performing. Stop deflecting blame on the fans for an underperforming players THAT ACTS LIKE HE IS mORE THAN HE IS. He has gotten plenty of support as well despite been piss poor for years. One of the reasons he survived so long.
@@xntr1c29 this toxic fanbase attacking his character, I’ve seen more hate than criticism so he’s right to feel wronged. If people just criticised him solely on his performances I’m sure he’s accept responsibility. But nah apparently he’s trying to be a rapper.
He hasn't earned it. It's that simple. He needed to earn it. True fans will back a player all the way if he puts in the work, goals or not. But he's gotten lazy and complacent and the timing can't be coincidental as his standards dropped just after he got his big money contract. A true club man; a fan, no less, would have kept up the good fight for his place.
Dont blame him. The fans have been toxic towards him. He deserves tonplay where he's supported and loved in his ups AND downs. He's given us some amazing memories. From an unknown kid on his debut double in Europe to the amazing night in Paris! Rashford is a true Red
Fans have been toxic towards him? For holding him accountable for his poor performances after being the highest earner? Why are English fans so soft? Go look at Milan and Madrid fans. This isn’t charity fc. Perform or leave. Simple as.
He's definitely already been told he's surplus to requirements. It's PR management of the highest order - calling in Henry Winter for an exclusive while he happens to be carrying out a school visit. Zero accountability, not one mention of him stealing a living for 2 years.
Marcus Rashford is living off a reputation that no longer matches his performances, and it’s time we face reality. He doesn’t have the drive, mentality, or consistency to take United back to the top. Sure, he scored 30 goals in a season, but 17 of those came in a two-month purple patch (Dec-Feb) - he was inconsistent before and after, and we’ve yet to see that guy again. United is built on fight, determination, and a never-say-die attitude. Sulking, waving arms, and refusing to track back isn’t what a United player should represent. It’s time to stop holding onto fleeting memories and let Rashford go.
This is all true, I think the upsetting part is, he is United through and through, he has bags and bags of talent, but we got to see so little of it. He could have been a legend of the club, carried us into another generation of winning. However, I feel like he let himself and the fans down. Best that he leaves, but hard for a United fan to be a little sad about what should have been with Rashford.
Without that purple patch, United would not have made Europe and would have finished outside the top 10. Only 11 players have scored more than him in United’s history. His legacy is cemented as the best player post Ferguson; the records speak for themselves
@@mattsilliman1237 Totally agree with you. It’s hard for us fans to acknowledge, but it must be even harder for Rashford himself as a fan of the club. He had all the tools to be that legend, but sadly, I don’t think he ever reached the potential we all hoped he would.
@@a9a6a I agree, and as United fans, we should be grateful for what Rashford has contributed - that purple patch was massive albeit short lived . To be among the likes of Cristiano, Rooney, Choccie, Law, Best, RVP, RVN, and co. is no mean feat, and it set a benchmark for what should have followed. But football is a team game, and individual accolades mean little if the team as a whole isn’t performing. Unfortunately, right now, Rashford feels like a passenger. I’d love nothing more than for him to turn it around, but I just don’t see it happening.
I understand Jay's point about being disappointed in Rashford's interview coming two day's after being dropped. However, the club have been briefing that he's up for sale and "surplus to requirements."
I think that comes from a place of professional courtesy, Man Utd are a big club and they haven’t been behaving like that of late. If this was 10-15 yrs ago no one would bother with the uproar. I’m not saying it to be blunt, Rashford has given us many memories, but it was getting toxic
It was a cleverly orchestrated PR piece to put himself in the shop window. The club are probably on board with it imo. I think PSG is a good possibility in January.
@@genghiskhanjunior9581 my thoughts exactly. It's one thing for a club to want to sell a player, it's another when the player is willing to leave. I think him and the club are working together to make him as appealing to prospective buyers as possible.
Rash was my favorite United player post-Fergie. I have his shirts, and I would NEVER trade him playing FIFA. The excitement he engendered during his debut season, that little beacon of light under Van Gaal where United couldn 't score if there life had depended on it. The leadership he demonstrated at a young age, on and off the pitch, when the squad and the club were so lost. Not to mention the goals. But that all feels like ages away. He has slumped down to be the burden that's too heavy for the club. I am deeply disappointed how he just gave up. The optics of this statement two days after he was dropped isn't so good. But if we were truly honest, he had given up a long time ago. Sadly, it happened at the time where there is that little hope again, and the club doesn't need to rely completely on him anymore. The tragedy of this is that he didn't beat the system. It just goes to show how big of a swamp the club has been in the past decade. He should be accountable for his behavior and lack of performance. But how the club failed him and wasted the generational talent that never came to be is criminal.
I feel after the quotes from Ratcliffe in Jamie Jackson's piece (clearly almost a press release) it's slightly disingenuous to say he could've played his way back into the team
The main thing that Rashford hasn't addressed is why he hasn't been able to be consistent in the last 2-3 years. He doesn't seem to be able to be honest with himself and analyse his form and performances.
It's simple, he is too lazy and he thought being United supporter since young age will somehow make him immune to criticism... Rat Bashford needs to go ..I hv been saying this even before his *30 goals* two seasons back... We all know why he had worked hard that season...coz his contract was up for renewal...the moment he signed that contract...he stopped performing... Don't believe me? Go check the timeline... Rat Bashford was never a united player at heart...he was just a leech - just like the Glazers. In fact the Glazers are better coz we know they are here for money...but Bashford pretended that he wanted to play for the team...while his intentions were just to milk the club as much as he cud... Now, the moment when the manager said, not anymore, you hv to work hard, Rat Bashford wants to leave... Let the piece of sh*t leave...
@@thebiglebrowski3695you are one of those Bashford enablers...who cudnt see past his "his family is United supporter" nonsense... He was the toxic leech in the dressing room...I hv been saying this since the José era...
Rashford represents United’s ethos with having academy talent in the first team. That’s what makes United special compared to other clubs. It’s something I’m very proud of as a United fan and a player like Rashford leaving is sad regardless of weather he’s not been performing. He’s done some genuinely amazing things off the pitch and it’s sad to see his time at United end this way
I don't care about off the pitch. It's on the pitch that counts. Also, what he did off the pitch, joe public paid for out of the public purse while he still Sat on millions. He's not the saint you think he is
He is on £300k a week, has performed poorly for 2 years. New manager comes in and he is in the USA watching basketball, if he had any common sense or desire to turn it around, he would be in first thing Monday morning, show willing. That decision was damning.
Casemiro is on £250k and was at the same game and he’s hardly pulled up trees the past couple seasons has he gonna use a stick to beat one use it to beat all
Going to be hard to find a replacement in January. But Xavi Simons should be available, given the PSV sell-on clause expires in January. 21 years old, creative, can play in the 10 and out wide - sounds ideal to me.
Replacement of what? Someone who walks on the pitch, doesn't track back, doesn't work for the team and doesn't score goals? Shouldn't be that difficult?
@@niklaswikstrom78 It's not about replacing like for like, but carefully selecting someone better and more suited to the system. It's a big commitment for the next 4 years at least. Rashford may not suit the more possessional approach United are moving towards, but he'll thrive in a team set up to counter attack, like he did under Ole. Wouldn't be surprised to see him rack up goals elsewhere, McTominay style.
I’m really not surprised by this at all. Rashford hasn’t said anything disrespectful or tried to undermine anyone. When the club has been leaking left, right, and center that they don’t want him anymore, why wouldn’t he come out and say-respectfully-that he’s ready for a new challenge? Honestly, this is probably the best outcome for both sides, for the club and for Rashford. If the club hadn’t made it so obvious that they don’t want him, I’d have expected him to stay quiet. And let’s be real, it’s not even smart business to let potential suitors know you’re done with an asset. In a way, Rashford’s done the club a favor by making it sound like it’s his choice, and it helps him save face too.
Spot on, it's all been done respectfully. The decision for him to go has probably been agreed behind closed doors with him and his agent etc involved. This Winter article and timing was a cleverly orchestrated PR piece that the club are fully aware of. It seems to me that all parties are in agreement and trying to find a solution in the best way they can.
In the past 3/4 seasons, the top wage earner at United has had “problems” and has left with a weird relationship with the club. Happened with De Gea, Ronaldo, Sancho & now Rashford. Good for the books and I’m glad Rashford has made it clear instead of dealing with weeks on weeks of leaks like we did on Monday.
Seems obvious that INEOS and Amorim don’t think he’s good enough to be here and rightly so. He’s saving grace by saying he’s ready for a new challenge which I thinks fair. The standards of this club are so much higher than what Marcus Rashford offers. Great decision, it’s a new era and I’m all for it 💪👍
Respect to Rashy only dude who at least done his ting in big games! White fans forced him out but are happy with TRASH like Mount Antony Maguire Dalot etc. n think we will go far 👎
Amorim tested him and he failed, poor response, he’s supposed to respond on the pitch and fight for his place instead he gives up and tries to play victim
Marcus never owns up to his failures….he tries to play victim like the world is on his head. Weak weak weak. How can you wear the #10 for united & be so weak and fragile. Nobody is bigger than the club.
@@cainhurst17funny how the fake news media have been writing negative articles about rashy. He's 2nd for the most amount of online abuse. After only LeBron. You think abuse isn't going to affect your form. If you think it wouldn't. YOU'RE LYING TO YOURSELF!!
Jay, I doubt Rashy would be reactionary to getting dropped to the point where he'd suddenly decide he wants to leave. This has to have been a long time coming for him and that's probably what's been weighing him down and affecting his performances, hence getting dropped. It's like a tough break-up, it weighs you down for a while as you keep thinking about it, before it actually happens.
Gave us so many great memories as fans, it's sad it's come to this. To be fair, he seemed as though he'd lost the love of the game at United. I respect that he wants to move on and wish him the best. I hope that no fans boo him if/when we play against him. He's not been at his best of late, but respect that he didn't hang on to the money and stay around and do nothing.
I don't get why the mood on here is so low. We've needed this change for a few years, and Rashford has had one great season out of how many? I disagree with anyone name-calling or being toxic, and our fans have at times been far too harsh in their criticism of him. But he threw his toys out the pram for Sancho which derailed that season, and the reports of him constantly out on the drink don't exactly speak to a professional mindset - to me it's someone who is complacent and thinks they've made it to the top, and will continue to be picked as 'the Manchester lad'. I've loved watching Rashford over the years, but this is the number 1 thing our club needs in my opinion.
100% you should bat that question away. Instead, he chooses to pour paraffin on the flames. I struggle to support him at this point. Just keep your mouth shut and leave quietly if you like, rather than once again making it all about being ‘misunderstood’. Shocking.
I also don’t think it’s coincidence that the first manager who’s been appointed with a contract drawn up by INEOS drops him and then two days later he’s going. I think previous managers have been under direction to keep certain players for commercial reasons.
Come on lads…Stop saying it is very sad…he’s had a life of sheer luxury without giving the commitment to the club. The fans have been short changed by this fella - Get shut !
Honestly, I can't blame him. He's been at the club for his whole life and fans are saying they want him gone. He got his call up not long after fergie was gone and like all of us probably imagined we would have won a lot more trophies. I get that his performances are what is driving people to say they want him gone, but if he's feeling unwanted no wonder he wants to move on
Take your goggles off guys. This guy represents everything that has been bad about our club for years. Overpaid. Overrated. No football intelligence. And not good enough….
Not a unique view on here, but I think his reaction to this and the way he’s gone about it speaks volumes. Frankly we don’t need someone who’s not willing to fight for his place not treat this with the dignity of releasing this at this point. He could have waited until after Christmas ahead of the transfer window, but instead has to burst the bubble of the derby win to make it all about him. Real shame as I’ve had his back -as many of us have- through thick and thin over the last few years
Don’t we think that this may have been discussed with Amorim before the game and it was agreed he wouldn’t be part of the squad. But Amorim has given Marcus the opportunity to release the news how he wants. I feel like it’s been an amicable decision between both parties.
Absolutely delighted. Overpaid, underperformed and has a terrible attitude. The generation of Pogba, Sancho, Lingard, Rashford is one of the main reasons why Man Utd have been in the doldrums for the last decade.
I used to be a big fan of Rashford, but he's been poor for nearly 3 of the past 4 seasons. He's had some great moments that shouldn't be forgotten, nor should his willingness to play through injuries back in 18/19, but the time has come for the club and Rashford to part ways - it's in the best interests of both parties. Hopefully he'll be humble enough to understand that his stock is very low at the moment, so if he wants to continue playing at a big club he's going to have to significantly up his game in order to secure that transfer. If he just downs tools now, no top European club is even going to consider him. He raised his game when his contract was up for renewal, so hopefully he can do that again to prove to other clubs he's worth buying. That would be good for both MUFC and him. If he can re-find his mojo, I could see him doing well in Germany, Italy and France (especially Germany, because transitions seem to be so common there, which would really suit him) - and if that happens I'll be happy for him.
Sent home sick day after dropped during training day then has a day out with kids (brilliant) and does an interview saying I want a new challenge. He has reacted poorly and undermined the club as he’s under a big contract. Poor reaction, Jay is correct in his feelings.
The biggest thing about this is the fact he's hamstrung United in terms of his transfer fee, as prospective buyers now know he wants out! It feels like a bit of an F you to the club knowing we'll now probably get less for him! I love Marcus, and I genuinely believe he loves the club, but if he truly feels this way, he should hand in a transfer request.
The reason you know it’s a sulk reaction to the weekend is that he hasn’t thought it through- if he really wants a move this isn’t how to go about it. It risks him being frozen out the team- other clubs won’t buy a player that isn’t playing and performing
He couldn't let the fans enjoy a massive derby win and let Amad enjoy his moment for even a week. No, he had to throw his toys out of the pram, announce he wants to leave, and make it all about him. Doesn't surprise me. Amorim challenged him to do better and he's decided he doesn't want to. Good riddance to a selfish and toxic player.
Hope he gets another couple of games to finish well, get some applause from the fans (and to push his price up). Even if it’s right he moves on, it’s sad, I hoped he would be here for his whole career (and put in the performances to go with it).
New challenge doesn’t mean he’s leaving, he also said "It's disappointing but I'm also someone as I've got older I can deal with setbacks. What am I going to do about it? Sit there and cry about it. Or do my best the next time I'm available."
After this Thrashford interview Magguire looks like a superb individual who just put his head down and put in the yards. He is now on an upward trajectory. Waiting to see Garnacho's next move
The amount of abuse Rashford has got has been disgusting. It really sours my view of some of our fellow fans. The abuse Maguire and Rashford have got has been unlike anything I've ever seen. I was too young to appreciate the amount of abuse Beckham got but it sounds as bad (or worse idk). Rashford played for this club with a broken back. Any player who plays through injury like that has my unwavering respect. The amount of global abuse Maguire and Rashford have faced is unlike anything any of us have ever been able to handle. I wonder if a lot of these 'fans' who abuse them online or in stadiums get upset if their line manager or colleague at work gives them a bad performance review or a friend jokingly rips into them? None of us have ever faced abuse like that. It's sad man.
Bit sad this, i wish him all the best. Hopefully he will get a good send off and the utd fans take the higher ground and cheer him on. Still one of our own
Im glad I've supported this great club for 34 years, I realise just many how many better players have been sold in that time, and we move on. Whether the system is 433, 4231, or especially Amorims 3421, there are so many better players out there that can replace rashford. If Ineos properly replace him, he'll be quickly forgotten
I'll always remember the days under van haal, and saying to myself 'thank god we've got rashford' time and time again. But that's not the same player we're seeing now. Personally I feel a bit conned that his best ever season was in the lead up to signing a large contract, but I guess that's the game, but then there was dublin, and now whatever this new incident is -- so no hard feelings and I'll keep an eye out for him in future, wishing him well, but the time is right for him to go.
The modern forward needs to play in a more intense, engaged manner. Rashford has had numerous chances to adapt his style to take this on. I feel sorry for him, but he does control his own style and he just doesn't seem to want to add this to his game.
The situation is sad. Due to the fact he has been at the club for almost 20 years. Its always a beautiful thing to see an academy graduate make it. However, for the last 2 seasons mentally he has gone AWOL. It seems Sancho and Lingard leaving were a catalyst for him to go. The majority of fans have been saying hes shown a lack of effort and we have been vindicated. Theres a big part of me that wishes him well and hope he gets his career back on track. Another part of me is thinking "What on Earth are you doing"? This club has given you so much and you throw back at them. Been sayin for ages its just better for both parties if he leaves. Already looking forward to bringing in a new LW. Who do we get?
Manchester united is a literal contronym. The city and fans are so incredibly divided and abusive towards one another. It use to be Manchester United vs the world because we could see how bias and exaggerated the criticisms towards our club and players were but now the fan base is filled with morons who just go with it. Imagine bullying out a boyhood club graduate that was on track to be a club legend. Shame on us….
It honestly makes sense with where he's at. The fans have turned on him. It saddens me to see how its gone. United already has the most pressure in the world and then you pile on a nonstop media witchhunt and below par performances causing most of the fans to turn on him. Who the hell would stay? I hope he does stay and I hope he turns it all around but I just feel bad at this point
I've supported him through thick and thin. But it is the club I support above all of them. So bye-bye then Marcus. It is a privilege to wear the shirt, you should fight for. You don't want that or you arent up for it, you definitely should leave.
He’s trying to force the club’s hand to sell him in Jan, after hearing the rumours he might be up for sale. Very disappointing and selfish way to approach it, as means we won’t get a decent price for him. The biggest shame really is that him approaching it in this way is no longer a surprise.
Could be just the fact that there’s been internal communication and both parties (club & player) know it’s over Ye lads on paddock love a sentimental factor with Rashford It’s just business
People chasing Rashy out the door is shameful. Dude busted his ass for the club and has taking care of his community. People need to walk a mile, what ever happened to empathy ??
He's definitely been told hes surplus to requirement and now making out as if HE is making the decision the ego on this guy 😂.... Ruben said hes tried him everywhere nothing has worked and behind the scenes he probably told the hierarchy he's not in his plans
Said this as soon as Amorim came in that he needed to tell players who didn’t fit his high energy standards. Is anyone really surprised that Rashford didn’t fit the mould! Go Ruben ✊🏻🚩
In the few weeks that Amorim has been in charge he’s changed tactics in-game, introduced better transitions, increased team’s passing stats, beaten Pep, has no favourites, and opened the exit door to Rashy. I hope EtH is watching.
Imagine being your clubs top scorer and the entire fanbase says you’re 💩 and they want you to leave. Then you say ok if you want me to leave I’ll go. Now they’re saying wow can’t believe he gave up 🤣🤣🤡🤡
Fabrizio Romano tweet - Marcus Rashford: “It’s disheartening to be left out of a Derby… but it’s happened, we won the game so let's move on”. “It’s disappointing but I’m also someone as I’ve got older I can deal with setbacks. What to do? Cry about it? Or do my best the next time I’m available”.
Rashford was left out of the squad for lack of performing in training and games, the way he contucted himseld wit team mates and even mentioned the way he dress. Rashford will 100 % go in January. He took control of the narrative and I will praise him for making it a smooth exit. This is great news going forward. Clearly a problem in the club is not solved.
Because he came as a young kid and through the academy it's different, and only was revealed after a few years with Marcus, but if we try and look at players such as Ronaldo, Pogba, Lingard, Sancho and Rashford through the lens of narcissism and being so out of touch with the fans and the standards expected/demanded of players on wedge like they were/are, pretty much all the really disappointing and baffling behaviours actually make sense. Apart from obviously Ronaldo (who I'd guess is very possibly a psychopath) none of those players have fulfilled or likely ever will fulfil their varying degrees of high to very high potential. I've zero sympathy for any of them personally, they don't know they're born and the money and fame has dulled them all to a stupor and somehow allowed them to lose their love of the sport they all clearly have or had deep down from early childhood. Narcissism is everywhere, it's a far worse epidemic than covid and our society is seriously ill because of it. United need to do serious due diligence on players' characters/mentality and only recruit solid humans from now on, and stop paying stupid salaries as well. Make them earn those contracts like was always the norm until Woodward destroyed our club. GGMU - we'll rise again one day, and hopefully it'll be under this manager - he has something very special about him, it's as clear as the fact that Rashford's time is up.
After hearing Rene Hake's comments about some players not wanting to add more elements to their game, then Amorim leaves out Rashford the derby. Then all of a sudden Rashford is out giving 420 presents to kids for Christmas saying in an interview that he wants to leave. Manchester United can only ever win a Premier League again if that culture is not at the club, irrespective of how long he's been there
No fan is saying that "he was never any good and that there was never any reason to like him". They're saying that he's shite now and that he doesn't seem to have the work ethic to get himself out of this funk he's in. If he works, the fans will get behind him. If he continues to work, the goals will come, they always do. He's not the first forward to ever be in a shite run of form but then, putting the effort in should be seen as the bare minimum and he can't even do that much, in tracking back. He is selfish, doesn't work, the polar opposite to Amad which is why Amad has taken his spot in the team. I'm sad because he could have become a club great but I'm more angry than sad because his failure has largely been of his own making. Yes, he's been the victim of some poor decisions made on his behalf (like Solskjaer's decision to play him despite the fact that he was injured) but he's also made some stupid decisions (like showing up to play for England in the Euro's, despite being injured then also). Where is the player who burst onto the scene, who wreaked havoc in EPL defences, who dazzled with his lightening pace and dead ball ability, who wooed the fanbase with his passion, his love for his club and his humility? I remember that kid tracking back, I remember that kid was actually a threat at set pieces. When was the last time he scored via a free kick? In the 19/20 season, away to Chelsea. Personally, I think he's got elements in his entourage who have influenced him, told him that he's better than he ever was and that as a result, he won't listen to those who will be honest with him and that is probably why he has stagnated as a player and also why he's on his bike.
18:34 I think Rashford has confirmed he doesn't want to fight for his position in the team. I would have wanted him to fight, but his mental state is quite clear in how he reacts to situations on the pitch. He's resigned to his fate and probably believes nothing that he can do will change the outcome
As a human, it’s time for him to try something new. No hard feelings, I think he’s probably right. Too much negative shit going on around him and it’s become a circus show around Rashford and he just needs a new challenge. Some great games for us, played at a bad time for the club, a good kid, done a lot for charity, let’s just wish him well ❤ Good look Marcus, all the very best
Amorim now needs to drop him entirely from the squad. This PR move was premeditated to put the ball back in the managers court. He should sit down with Rashford ask him to clarify his comments and if he's adamant he wants to leave he can train with the u21s til January and leave. Nobody bigger than the club.
The club is bigger than any player. When Eric abdicated it was truly heartbreaking. It was bad when Ruud, Beckham and Roy got kicked out and they were all genuine legends. Amorim will find someone better, more suited to his system. All will be good
I want Antony out as well. $200K a week and did nothing, performed nothing.

Spot on
I get what your saying but being at a company that has nurtured you so much and you have excepted the wage and new contract you should at least try - try and work - look like your trying. This guy looks like he would struggle to take a shit without Insta getting involved

Complacency in life can & will occur as a result of poor judgement & an unappreciative attitude by an individual,

Can never win with these two
@@amipunyayoutube think people feel justified tbh. Just showing how weak and self involved he is
Also, it would have defeated the whole purpose.
Thank you for your service and good luck on ur future endeavors.
Hopefully a transfer is already agreed. Any strength United might have had for a high transfer fee is gone with him saying he wants to leave.
Nah. A player's market value isn't affected by words. It's determined by performance, age and potential.
If anything a player with years left on his contract wanting to leave would put the price up, as the club could say they don’t want him to go. Although in this case I doubt it’ll make much difference.
Antony said he wanted to leave and went on strike and we still played 85 million for him. Doesn’t matter in the slightest

You can't bang on about his timing with it, after the club have clearly told journalists that they're open to selling him just before and after the derby
.

Jay you’re forgetting all the stories since Sunday that the club want him sold and he’s been transfer listed. Maybe he’s been told he’s gone?
Definite possibility
He's definitely already been told he's surplus to requirements. It's PR management of the highest order - calling in Henry Winter for an exclusive while he happens to be carrying out a school visit. Zero accountability, not one mention of him stealing a living for 2 years.
Even if he has. It just stinks of main character syndrome. Just play as best as you can and move on
Marcus Rashford is living off a reputation that no longer matches his performances, and it’s time we face reality.
Purple patch I really dont know how this became a thing. Rashford basically played and did his job for once in ages. Rashford is now just a 🤷♂️
@@a9a6a I agree, and as United fans, we should be grateful for what Rashford has contributed - that purple patch was massive albeit short lived .
I appreciate him for stepping up in a couple of seasons. I can excuse bad form but pulling out of duels and not sprinting is inexcusable
You two defend this guy so much it’s hilarious

It is simple, really. He has played for two of the worst managers on United's history in Ralf and ETH.

Rashford represents United’s ethos with having academy talent in the first team. That’s what makes United special compared to other clubs. It’s something I’m very proud of as a United fan and a player like Rashford leaving is sad regardless of weather he’s not been performing. He’s done some genuinely amazing things off the pitch and it’s sad to see his time at United end this way
You love the idea of him. It's not what he actually is in reality.

@@niklaswikstrom78 It's not about replacing like for like, but carefully selecting someone better and more suited to the system. It's a big commitment for the next 4 years at least.

@ No. There is nothing to replace. He has near 0 football intelligence
I've loved Marcus since Day 1. He's been a faithful servant, and he's a local lad. He deserves a new start, and our undying appreciation.
You've all been wanting him to move on so what are you crying about?
In the past 3/4 seasons, the top wage earner at United has had “problems” and has left with a weird relationship with the club.
Happened with De Gea, Ronaldo, Sancho & now Rashford.
Good for the books and I’m glad Rashford has made it clear instead of dealing with weeks on weeks of leaks like we did on Monday.
De Gea was different. Don't mix up.
The way De Gea left the club was poor from the club’s perspective. A player of his stature not getting a proper farewell is horrendous.
Seems obvious that INEOS and Amorim don’t think he’s good enough to be here and rightly so. He’s saving grace by saying he’s ready for a new challenge which I thinks fair. The standards of this club are so much higher than what Marcus Rashford offers.

Shocking.
Great news Rashford has met his match and been found out.
I also don’t think it’s coincidence that the first manager who’s been appointed with a contract drawn up by INEOS drops him and then two days later he’s going. I think previous managers have been under direction to keep certain players for commercial reasons.
I'm pretty sure the interview wasn't done the day it was released.
Joe nailed every word of that. That's my read too.
don't be naive jay. Rashford isn't stupid; Amorim has clearly given vibes that he won't be able to hack it here
Sent home sick day after dropped during training day then has a day out with kids (brilliant) and does an interview saying I want a new challenge.
As a human being, you no when youve had enough, he has reached it, and fair play to the lad, i wish him all the best.
Him, Sancho and Lingard. What a trio!
Lack of effort is up to him he gave up on the club a long time ago so why should I feel for him as a fan
The reason you know it’s a sulk reaction to the weekend is that he hasn’t thought it through- if he really wants a move this isn’t how to go about it. It risks him being frozen out the team- other clubs won’t buy a player that isn’t playing and performing
Thank you Rashford ❤wish you all the best
My god he's not died, get a grip joe
He couldn't let the fans enjoy a massive derby win and let Amad enjoy his moment for even a week.
No, he had to throw his toys out of the pram, announce he wants to leave, and make it all about him.
Doesn't surprise me.
Amorim challenged him to do better and he's decided he doesn't want to.
Good riddance to a selfish and toxic player.
Hope he gets another couple of games to finish well, get some applause from the fans (and to push his price up).
Even if it’s right he moves on, it’s sad, I hoped he would be here for his whole career (and put in the performances to go with it).
Absolutely agree with Rashford's right to say that when the club have said they're willing to sell him and for 40m pounds. It cuts both ways.
Put it this way steve bruce once scored more goals in a premier league season than rashford and he was at CB. 😂
Good luck to him in next steps of his career. Gave us fans many moments of enjoyment 🎉
Jay nailed it 5 mins 🙌
I'll always remember the days under van haal, and saying to myself 'thank god we've got rashford' time and time again. But that's not the same player we're seeing now. Personally I feel a bit conned that his best ever season was in the lead up to signing a large contract, but I guess that's the game, but then there was dublin, and now whatever this new incident is -- so no hard feelings and I'll keep an eye out for him in future, wishing him well, but the time is right for him to go.
Who’s going to want him ? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great to see the manager make an example out of someone. No one is safe.
Top journalist my hole, he's a old school friend and a Rashford pal😂
This channel played a big part in creating that level of self entitlement in rashford
Agreed, we've allowed the racist, right wing, capitalist media to fracture out fan base
I can’t stand our fan base.
Could be just the fact that there’s been internal communication and both parties (club & player) know it’s over
Ye lads on paddock love a sentimental factor with Rashford
It’s just business
People chasing Rashy out the door is shameful. Dude busted his ass for the club and has taking care of his community. People need to walk a mile, what ever happened to empathy ??
He's definitely been told hes surplus to requirement and now making out as if HE is making the decision the ego on this guy 😂.... Ruben said hes tried him everywhere nothing has worked and behind the scenes he probably told the hierarchy he's not in his plans
Ego? More letting himself be open as the writing was clearly on the wall from ineos.
When did Ruben say that?
@@MellowCee whatever he does he can’t with this toxic fanbase, would they rather he stayed for the duration of his contract.
@@lordm6708yeah. He hasn't been good since he signed the big contract. He should move even if it means less money.
This is an important moment for our progression.
Imagine being your clubs top scorer and the entire fanbase says you’re 💩 and they want you to leave.
Then you say ok if you want me to leave I’ll go.
Now they’re saying wow can’t believe he gave up 🤣🤣🤡🤡
Fabrizio Romano tweet -
Marcus Rashford: “It’s disheartening to be left out of a Derby… but it’s happened, we won the game so let's move on”.
Manchester United can only ever win a Premier League again if that culture is not at the club, irrespective of how long he's been there
Nah cmon Jay. Hes clearly being forced out by INEOS and instead of kicking up a fuss he’s decided not to fight the club on it
Clearly being forced out? How so?
He could always stay and fight for a place couldn’t he? Two good seasons in nine. Enough.
@@ewomazinoosio2243 The club literally briefed the Guardian saying he was up for sale as part of a "cultural reset"
Do you think 🤔. He hasn't been in form for two years and he was out of form the year he got dropped by Ralf.
Some great games for us, played at a bad time for the club, a good kid, done a lot for charity, let’s just wish him well ❤
Good look Marcus, all the very best
Amorim now needs to drop him entirely from the squad. This PR move was premeditated to put the ball back in the managers court. He should sit down with Rashford ask him to clarify his comments and if he's adamant he wants to leave he can train with the u21s til January and leave.
Nobody bigger than the club.
