you can join the peaks of yore discord if you want to learn speedrun tech, the main tech that gives you height is called crampon jumping basically you use your crampons as your pulling yourself up to gain lots of height
No no but you see I haven't particularly collected all of the extra rope upgrades and that's why I haven't installed the game yet. Entirely time spent, i totally have the skill do do better.
I may be wrong, since I don't play this game and I'm not a speedrunner, but it looks to me that you can get momentum from reaching for holds or jumping without having to actually have a hold, and that's what they are using to "fly" I'm guessing that the ice picks either give more momentum, the momentum lasts longer, or it's just more consistent, and that's why they primarily use the ice picks to get around. Idk if that's how it works, just what I've observed from watching this.
@@pravus9769 I've watched a bit of it, and how it typically works is you use bare hands to grab rock grips, and picks to latch onto any ice. And other than that, you can't just grab a plain rocky surface, pick or not, you need either ice or a grab-able rock. I know you can launch yourself pretty hard from a gripping position, and you may be right on the boost from reaching out. Though, I don't recall it being anywhere as strong in normal gameplay, and the fact that he seems to do it multiple time in a jump, not to mention picking on rocks...
@@Bladster94 Ik, game bugs are weird. It doesn’t look to me like they are using the ice picks to grab the rocks, since there’s no stamina drain. To me, the closest that it reminds me of is climbing mountains in Skyrim games. It’s abusing the physics and wonky collision maps.
