Hey man i just want to say thanks for the tips! They have been helpful, I’m starting FedEx ground next week Tuesday team driving. What are some other small things to take with you while on the road? Besides the essentials

Thanks for the tips, man. I have a question regarding splitting your shifts; do you drive your full 11 hours, then your partner drives his 11 hours, or do you guys split them? How do you decide who’s going to drive during the night?

    • @smoovethetrucker1926
      @smoovethetrucker1926  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Yes we do. Every team is different. But yes, for me and my partner we each drive our 11 hour shift, or close to it. Then we switch. My partner luckily loves driving the nights, mostly because he hates daytime traffic so much. I normally drive during the day. All depends on your partner, and what each of you prefer to do 👍

Damn im making 1500 home weekly solo...i saw stuff saying u can make 1800-2400 each with fedex ground. I just applied and got sent the drug test. But idk about 1300-1500 doing doubles as a team...me and my bf teamed with dart transit and made no less than 1600 every week..we were out 3 week tho.

Smoove hows your contractor i had a bad experience already first run out and the truck broke down.. hows your contractor are they organized and do what they say there gunna do? Is the equipment good and fairly new will low mileage on it? Since im in the fedex system cant i just switch contractors or do i have too reapply? Doesnt make sense too have too reapply but im not sure..

Hello friend, thanks for sharing about a teammate is not easy to find the right one, even female drivers kind hard to stay with for long, how can you tell if the new driver is comparable with you, thanks again be safe BLESSINGS!

I'm about to be a floater team driver
Sounds like I wont get the same driver
    Ellenwood Ga,Marietta,Kennesaw and Nashville TN
Have you ever been a fill in? Any tips on this. Pay 1900 guaranteed 5 days out 2 home.
I'm Worried about a smoker also because I don't smoke

It's a good job my man! Biggest tip is try to get as much sleep as possible. You can request a non smoker driver. Or have him smoke outside of the truck if he does. Drink caffeine to help get you through your drive shift. when your exhausted. Overall, a great job and great pay. I'd still be there if I wasn't getting married next year. And need a home daily job now.

This mans speaking facts yahll need too listen too what hes saying.. when your trucking buy food and meal prep at home for the week buy frozen steamables if you have too and put it in the fridge if you do this you wont spend no more then 80-150 a week for food out on the road eat healthy too it will help you not be as sleepy when your driving. If you do this then when you get paid its easy too keep 50-80% of your paycheck each week everyone reading this if you already dont have a house please do not go buy a Mercedes or 50-70k car just because you make 100k a year its not smart a car is one of the worst investments you can make they depreciate over 35-50% in the first two years buy a used car within your budget dont live beyond your means its not practical. Plus as a trucker you will only get too drive your car 1-2 days a week if you work for fedex other companies you stay out for weeks or months at a time so what the point in spending that much money on a nice car you never get too use and is just losing value. Invest your 💰 dont blow it. Buy a 🏠 instead be smart with your money yahll can do this.. plus you cant afford too get any tickets especially excessive speeding ticket i know i just got one in may and im unemployed because of it you will instantly lose your job and its a pain in the ass too get the ticket reduced and off your csa score you will be out of work for 6 months atleast because the covid kept pushing my court dates back month after month im still waiting too be cleared i would have already been working at fedex foe 6 months already if this never happened. Now im using my time too get into the best shape of my life while i can because not much time too exercise as a trucker. Also all there is too eat at the truck stops is arbys, subway, wendys all that shit is nasty but subway would be the way too go if you had too.. or fried food from the flying j which is bad for you.. if your lucky once in a while you will land at a denys or carls jr rare but it happens or the ta has there own like dennys.. but it gets old real quick and you will spend 400 a week easily eating at these places and truck stops thats a quarter of your pay check and you haven't even paid bills or fed your family yet or any other expenses so think about your finances always.. yahll be safe out there and good luck stay hustling hard work will pay off.

@@smoovethetrucker1926 thanks your the man smoove. Your the reason im gunna work for fedex teaming with my girlfriend once she gets a year of experience shes at like 9 months but this ticket set me back im still waiting too be cleared too go back too work it. My csa score os being challenged through a data q challenge off the fmcsa website pain in the ass. Me and my girl are going this up coming Wednesday too get take our doubles endorsements.. what did you use too study for your doubles endorsements? Im using these two apps dmv genie and cdl prep ive used them for all my test and passed hope they will work this time around as well..

@@smoovethetrucker1926 also always looking forward too your updated reviews with fedex since you started there.. sorry too hear you didnt have a good teammate glad you found a good one finally. If your not on the same page they will mess with your money i had a gold driver but lazy didnt wanna drive as many miles so my checks were garbage with Schneider lol glad im past all that the first year of trucking has been a struggle but i did make a decent amount of money until the ticket

@@smoovethetrucker1926 okay awesome thanks then i should be okay too take the test then and pass with these two apps.. thanks enjoy your weekend get rest and stay safe out there.. i have a friend in Nashville doing the team with fedex he told me fedex has been busy no signs of slowing down anytime soon. He been making 1700-2000k a week net but his contractor started him out at .68cpm and just gave him a raise.. i was gunna work for ups and team because of there benefits and pension but im affraid you wont get as much freedom as you will with fedex.. if you wanna know about ups ill give you all the information i know its a really good job. Its the same as fedex gauranteed 1-2days off per week you start at 60 cpm top out after 4yrs 92cpm plus 4cpm per diem so 96cpm all benefits paid for 100% by the union and free pension 3 weeks of vaction after you complete one year of employment with them its a good job but i still think fedex is doing it better more freedom.

It takes a little while bro. They use a company called first advantage for the background check process. They were ridiculous slow when they processed me. Make sure you give them the correct phone numbers for prior trucking companies you've worked for in the past. Should take about 3 to 4 weeks if everything goes well.

How does lime hail work? I’m also driving for FedEx ground. Is it contractor work or actually FedEx Ground employee. Also, is it day cabs or sleeper berths . Do you have team driving or is it solo for linehaul lock work? Thanks for any advice you can give. I work out of Rialto.

FedEx Ground is, in my opinion, the best place to work.. another good one that might be a little better is Amazon but they are more strict on performance delivery time. Their equipment is top notch and the app they use is really nice.
