_________________________________________________
Hey guys, I'm Robert and I'm a finance & real estate professional. I got hired at one of the nations top financial advisory firms in February 2020 only to turn it down in the midst of the pandemic and fell into being a Trucker as a hedge for my real estate career. I actually ended up loving it and discovered that it is one of the fastest vehicle for success! Now I'm on a mission to prove the American dream is alive and well while doing one of the most blue collar jobs in the country. This is my journey and I hope it inspires you to think differently about what is possible for you.

If I wasn't so dreadfully scared of winter roads, I would totally drive. You guys make so much. I'll have to see if you have any videos on real estate because I have always wanted to do that.
Thanks for your vids. I'm considering Trucking seriously which might be next year. I would link up then we take it from there. Be safe
Good content. I will reach out when I move out to Vegas.
Your videos are awesome I like them and they're very cool doing FedEx around America we need our packages I'm just going to tell you thank you for these videos and you have probably a lot of likes and that's probably a compliment I think and happy New Year and happy holiday happy face 😊😊
I did a dedicated for 6 months at FedEx best 6 months i've had in this industry. All driving no waiting. Hope you get on it soon man. Stay safe
I’ve been doing a dedicated to Orlando the last month. I’m loving it. Aside from last weeks tornados 🌪 haha
hi , i have a question for you Jessie S,
do fed ex team contractor trucks have driver facing cameras?
or are all contractors different?
@@Driving2Thrive all contractors have them but its on the contractor to deal with events that trigger the camera. The two contractors I worked for didn't care much for disciplining there drivers. But yes all fedex contractors are supposed to have them
Hate it
Thanks man your the reason I’m going to a fedex approved driving school
Great information👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Health Insurance is huge, have to provide coverage these days. Too big of a deal to drivers to not provide. "you gotta leave, stand up for yourself" - speaks the truth
I'm in CDL School now, and get my CDL Nov 15th. You're videos are helpful man, thanks. I think I'm gonna look into Fedex ground as well. But I'll be based our of San Antonio.
How’d it go & what was the pay like
@@PylotGuy I worked for a company called Warrior Logistics out of Houston for 3 months. They say Monday-Friday weekends off, that was a lie. We’d run 6-12 days. The pay was inconsistent because you get caught at these FedEx hubs for 2,3,6,12,24 hrs so it slows down your miles. 5k + plus miles is ideal for a good paycheck but I only did that kind of mileage maybe 3-4 times. I left after 3 months. I work local in San Antonio now delivering organic milk to grocery stores. Mon-Friday. I’m content with it for now till I get more driving experience under my belt
@@DjStaxx I’m happy you went through with it and didn’t quit, I wish you nothing but success
Wao awesome, congrats ❤
Dude, Thanks for you information.
I was looking for FedX ground on CL.
Im planning to move from Pa to Ocala, Fl
My concern is health insurance an pay.
Again, Thank you more good information.
You are correct about finding a contractor that provides insurance. I work out of the Greenwood Indiana (Indianapolis) terminal as a local driver and my contractor just asked me a couple of days ago about insurance. He is currently putting something together where I would pay 350 a month for my family and he will pay the rest. Great content. Keep it up.
I appreciate it man
Hey Ant. I’m from Naptown myself and thinking about getting my CDL in September. Not asking how much you make but are you making at least 45-50000 a year driving locally? I have a big family and don’t want to do OTR 😩😩😩
See south bend Indiana FedEx Ground here
Good content bro, I work for a contractor out of Rialto, CA. Entry level is .37 cpm. For someone experienced like yourself we pay .42 cpm. Benefits included. Great work environment and an awesome contractor that cares.
Who is it man ?
@Armando Lomeli What's the contact for your contractor in Rioalto?
Hey buddy, thanks for sharing but i think you deserve better, i heard about other fedex drivers making over$100, 000 a year, so something is not adding up BLESSINGS!!!🌅🌅🌅
I really need this work
I do wild but i turn it into a dedicated, ask for cali and then ask them to send you to easy coast and just repeat.
Great content as usual. Im looking into getting with a contractor soon myself just weeding out the ones that will waste my time. Ive narrowed it down to about 2-3 contractors so far still doing my due diligence. How is team driving honestly? Thats my main concern at the moment I just can't wrap my head around how that works efficiently with adequate sleep and hygiene etc.
As far as team driving is concerned, it’s not that bad in my opinion. Most people are logical and Want to be clean like most other people. Unfortunately there are some of those people that were just raised a bit different where being a slob was acceptable. The hardest thing about team driving is your co-driver, so make sure you get along with them.
Did you find a contractor?
Im also looking and liking to start next year
@@fairmaninamerica6268 I did. I’m in the north Atlanta area
Salute dude
I went through the same situation you went through and now work for a better paying contractor. I also run wild and I like it because we are consistent averaging 5.5k miles per week.
since you have been at multiple team contractors i want to ask
do they have driver facing cameras?
i know a guy at fed ex freight, running solo and they only have front facing,
@@hayleyandkilo yes they carry front facing cameras.
@@alanchavez623 i asked about driver facing cameras
Yes the trucks for the contractor I drive for has driver facing cameras
Thanks Studying for my permit now
Nice man! Be sure to save time with your studying by watching my CDL HACK video. Don’t waste time, keep me posted on your progress man. I look forward to hearing from you.
What contractor you running for that offers 401k plan?
Man shits changed since that time. Im about to start with fx ground they starting me with .35 which i think is decent as new grad. With after 90 day pay raise. And they have all the benefits if i will take it or find my own
Yeah I make about 39cpm now. On a dedicated which typically pay less.
Hey man, that was great content.. I already have got my commercial permit. My DOT has been cleared and I am going to start my schooling in one of these FedEx approved schools. I should have my CDL before the end of next month. Could you please share your contractor details appreciate you and thank you.
Shoot me an email. It’s in the video description box. Let me know where you’re located and I’ll try and help you out 👍
Do they offer local jobs? I'm in rialto.
Question about Health Insurance; is your contractor paying you $0.02 less per mile and then you must pay for insurance on top of that? Or is the $0.02 cover the full cost on your side. Many contractors have insurance but bearly covers anything. I went with Obama Care which covered much more for me and my family.
No it’s 2 cents less per mile but insurance is completely covered by that. It’s Kaiser gold, I don’t know much about insurance but people tell me that it’s really good…
@@Driving2Thrive wow thats nice. Whats the companys name you drive for in Rialto?
Shoot me an email in the description and I’ll send you all the detail brother.
Why are you not taking the 401k ?
I did FedEx teams for 6months switch over local FedEx 15-19 a week full benefits bonuses teams suck
Nice man, where are you running out of?
hey kyle , how much per hour for fedex local driver? thanks
@@whatever-huan I’m by the mile or flat rate for p&d
@@Driving2Thrive 219
Come on out to Louisville ky 61cent a mile. No experience 67c after 6 months
Really? No split? How many miles per week?
Aye bro question what days are you off?
What do you like about good contractors? What do they offer?
At the very least. Insurance. You’ll be surprised how many don’t offer it.
Excellent video, how are you doing today? What’s your average mileage per week?
5000 miles a week I’m on a dedicated run now
Hopefully the pay has jumped. The contractor I drive for in Minnesota pays .82 cents for dedicated- per driver. And $1.00 a mile wild- per driver. Not split. Not hating. Hendegaard Transport is the contractor. Keep up the good work.
Where is it located ? I got 6 month's experience
@@dragodrago7370 Hendegaard Transport out of St Paul, MN. They pay very well.
Do you have to have doubles on your license to drive for fed x ground
Yes
Think he talking about all miles as team. I work for warrior logistics and we are paid .76cpm or .36cpm for all miles.
Yeah this video was 2 years ago. I get .39 cpm now.
Watched this video over 8 months ago for the first time.. just found out today we work for the same contractor! What are the chances?!😆
Who ? I’m in Rialto too 👀
@@TheTruelakersfan I worked for Safety Transport for 10 months. Moved to Ft Worth back in January to work a local job and make more, but really enjoyed my time working there.
Where do I find FedEx approved training, not a lot real info online. Thanks
Hi Susan,
There is a list of Fedex approved driving schools if you email me I could try and get it to you.
Do you have to live near the terminals to work there? For example, could you commute weekly from Downtown San Diego?
My Co Driver lives in San Ysidro! And I live in Murrieta. There are some guys with this company that are from Las Vegas And drive out of the Rialto terminal in SoCal. So living near the terminal is not necessary!
@@Driving2Thrive Thank you so much! I’ve been watching you for about two weeks now, and that was by far my most concerning question. You encouraged me to enroll here at United Trucking Driving School. Are you still reachable through Instagram? Thanks again for the information.
No worries man, I don’t go on the Instagram for this channel anymore. I lost access.
Best way to reach me is my email
Driving2thrive@gmail.com
Best of luck at school! Hit me up when you get out 👍🏽
Please help me for the job please
I got into a FedEx approved CDL school. I started school the yesterday. Can I get in with your current contractor out of school?
You absolutely can! When you are ready you can reach out to me with my email in the description. Best of luck during school
@@Driving2Thrive Thanks Robert, be safe out there bro
I just got my cdl as well and just sign on to a fedex contractor do they train you first
They definitely should. But every contractor is different and some can be shady. They should pair you with a trainer driver.
Does anyone know if California school of trucking in Ontario Ca a FedEx approved trucking school?
Did you figure out if it is an approved trucking school?
Should I still see FedEx as a good option to start out at as a new driver or should I go into a job in the oil fields or look into ltl companies like Estes?
I would recommend FedEx man. Oil fields are inconsistent and Estes might not pay as well.
@@Driving2Thrive Thanks. I’m almost 22 and after this summer I’m going to 160 driving school, getting all the endorsements I can and seeing if I can snag a job with FedEx. That’s my goal, I’m not sure if it’ll work I’ve been considering car hauling too
@@foamdinner4340 I just got a list from FedEx of their approved schools and 160 wasn't on it. If you want I can email you the list I got from them
@@stevenvandyke2598 can you show the list here pls .I m graduated from AAA CDL Virginia

Hey Robert, I came across your content a couple of days ago and subscribed, so happy I did. I sent you an email as well, let me know what you think. Thanks
Hey brother based out of Rialto myself - my contractor is pretty solid but no benefits - u mind telling me the name of ur contractor?
For sure, shoot me an email it is located in my video description
Is it a lot of labor? Or are you just mostly driving dropping and moving on.
It is all drop and hook. No hard labor. It’s as easy as it gets.
Where can you look up the list FedEx approved schools????
There isn’t one to look up. But I can find out. What state are you in?
@@Driving2Thrive Kentucky- Louisville to be specific
There is a 160 driving academy there. So you’re set!
@@Driving2Thrive Thank you bro👍👍👍
Can I get contact info for the current contractor u work for? I live in Rancho Cucamonga
Shoot me an email. It’s in the comments and I’ll hook you up.
They hired you with no experience? That's great!I have my CDL (permit) and i'm going for my doubles endorsement.
Nice man!
Same here 💪🏿🏋🏿♂️ I can't WAAIT!!!
Do you know any contractors out of Savannah georgia ?
Unfortunately no my man, I’ll keep a look out for you.
Look at ethos out of Valdosta. Has sav ga runs
Are the trucks automatic?
Yes sir!
Does Fed Ex Ground hire with no experience? Plus is it Regional or local? How often you home?
Yes. You don’t need experience. It is nationwide otr driving. 5 days out, 2 days home.
@@Driving2Thrive I thought about Schneider but idk.. Do you like Fed Ex Ground??
Dude thirty-nine cents a mile? There are other contractors out here with full benefits paying $0.55-60 cents.
Yea solo not team and you won’t get that many miles
Have you ever thought of buying routes and becoming a contractor?
Yeah I’m trying to do it right now.
@@Driving2Thrive that is excellent. I’m working on getting into the P&D.
Me too. I’m going to start on the P&D side, I’m currently in escrow for a 6 run operation in Las Vegas. I plan on making videos about it once I close on it.
@@Driving2Thrive would love to hear about the experience and getting to that point of closing and some of the pros and cons. Thank you for your content!
Do you need doubles endorsement?
Yes
How will you be able to drive 6,400 miles in a 5 day week? I’m not a driver so it may be a dumb question…. Just exploring it as a second career. Thanks for your videos.
Driving teams. You have someone you drive while you sleep.
It doesn't add up. He said his current cpm is 0.39. He said the new dedicated route is 6400 miles per week and that it's team driving. Assuming he and the co-driver split the miles 50/50 (3200/wk) he's only going to Gross $1248/wk. Still, $64,896 is not chump change. Personally, with a full year of experience I would be looking for another company to drive for. Even at 6 months experience, there are companies paying over 0.50 cpm.
@@davidanderson-22 I think he get paid for truck mails.. 6400ml x 0.39c
How can I find you on IG? I need to ask you a few questions! What’s the name of your contractor?
Shoot me an email dude. It’s in the video description.
I am 19 years old can i work for the ??
Sorry bro. Must be 21
I’m so confused 😂, your making 39 cpm at fedex but I’m at swift making 44 cents a mile and they offer 55 cpm if your willing to do east coast . What the..
hes driving teams
@@Rydge16 and?
@@tylerbentz9512 He’s driving teams, meaning he’s still getting paid during his time off. So if he’s making $0.39/mile, he’s actually making $0.78/mile since he’s getting paid for miles he’s not actually driving.
I know, sounds like he's getting ripoff, i make $21.00 per hr home every night, and working 6 days at week, i get $2200 + at week, BLESSINGS OH and that is after deduction!!!🌅🌅🌅

39cents is it still 1987 that is no money when he is getting paid over 4.00 a mile for you contractors or theives
This is split ! What’s wrong with you guys . Remember he’s driving as a team at $0.78 cents split
6400 miles a week? At .39 cents per mile? You are getting tossed.
dude... you a jack black clone with the glasses on...😂😂
Isn’t it nice to grow a beard and shave your head as a truck driver. Unlike being a sales rep or financial advisor where you have to look so professional and presentable. I know because I’m currently in sales and finance and I want to be a truck driver. Lol!
It is freeing for sure
Great video, I sent you an email hope yo hear back soon I live in the IE close to Rialto CA!
