I not only provide lineups/goalscorers/etc, but I also try to add anecdotes, facts and trivia pertaining to the match in question.
we will continually missing you Yekinni
me too the way he die I dont like..
Legendary Rashidi Yekini ! RIP ! Elastic Elaho great baller !
The pass assist from Friday Elahor was even better than the goal.
That pass from Elahor is £1m
yekini will never be forgotten
It's nice seeing Yekini's goal prowess... Great pass too from Elahor
I misread that first, i thought it was Nigeria 14, Kenya 2... And yes, 30 years on, and we are still quite dismayed by our footballing prowess... and that assist 1:05 was out of this world. Love from Kenya
Sad that my teammate Odongo was brutally murdered here in Kenya in his rural home. I miss you Jackson Alfayo Odongo JJ!!!
When.... poleni..waa
Sorry to hear that . RIP
My condolences
My Condolences Mr. Noah. May His Soul rest in perfect Peace. Amen
But that pass from Friday Elaho, eh, ... *sigh* that pass gat no chill at all!
Yekini was probably his sharpest in this tournament...
From all the highlights of other tournaments I have watched him play
They were a solid unit, our boys at 2022 Nations Cup were also a very big, physical side winning three games in the group stage, second round exit was heartbreaking but they say every disappointment is a blessing. I have high hopes of a quarter-final appearance in Qatar.
Hope Osimhen will be fit then, obviously the missing link at afcon 2022
The guy is a joy to watch and his movements off and on the ball remind that of the goalfather
Yekini loved the Harambee stars, always scored against them. He missed the 90 CAN in Algiers but resumed where he paused from. In Maroc 88, he single handedly demolished Kenya in Nigeria's opening game
Yekini played in Algeria 90. He actually scored 3 goals in the tournament to finish second top scorer
Elastic Elaho!
See the pass from Friday Elahor and the finishing from Baba Yekini(RIP).
Great Friday Elahor
Elastic elaho....I see u😀
I don't know why that guy did not last in the game.
We still don't have a standard Kit 32yrs later
This was when we had a national football team... these days... hmmm
rest in peace yekini
Bantu,it was some years back!! Very sad indeed!!
Why is that this Eagles of 92 played better football and had more talented players than this bunch we have now???? Na wa
Because selections is base on who you know and not by merit.
What is happening to our super eagles of today, please can somebody tell me?
Because then played with passion without thinking of money and no ego but now as long as European club signed them pride will set in then ego come, nobody is like them again they will respect their coach or some big players in the team because they feel they arrived .

The Super Eagles of the 90s played in bigger and better European clubs than what most Super Eagles players play in today.
So I don't think having ego is the problem. There are very little quality players (if any) having much playing time in Europe.
this was no ordinary team oh, they were already building a reputation. If you followed the qualifiers, we had already established a routine of scoring an average of 4 goals in every home game. Finidi and Yekini tagged to change Burkina Faso's name to Burkina Sofa when we hit the 7 goals in goals. I think Yekini scored 5 that day and Finidi had 5 assists and one goal. Interestingly that was Finidi's debut for the national team. Incredible!
I hate how, over 3 decades, Kenyan athletics/games are still plagued by the same issues that still plagued them in the 90s. boardroom politics and corruption
Wish i could get the whole match...nostalgic
This legend Rasheed Yekeen was just killed by ignorant people, rest on the goalmahine...
Rip yakinii
one for the archives
They are still suffering from lack of quality in East African football 31 years later😂😂😂
Yekini RIP
I'm I the only one that heard the Nigerian fans chanting 'referee Ole!' which means 'thief' in local parlance after the penalty was awarded?/
Also heard Kenyans fans shouting the same ""Ole referee" Hehehee... "Ole" coincidentally in Kenya means "Son of"
This is not 1982 afcon
