    The pass assist from Friday Elahor was even better than the goal.

    I misread that first, i thought it was Nigeria 14, Kenya 2... And yes, 30 years on, and we are still quite dismayed by our footballing prowess... and that assist 1:05 was out of this world. Love from Kenya

    Yekini was probably his sharpest in this tournament...
    From all the highlights of other tournaments I have watched him play

    They were a solid unit, our boys at 2022 Nations Cup were also a very big, physical side winning three games in the group stage, second round exit was heartbreaking but they say every disappointment is a blessing. I have high hopes of a quarter-final appearance in Qatar.

      The guy is a joy to watch and his movements off and on the ball remind that of the goalfather

    Yekini loved the Harambee stars, always scored against them. He missed the 90 CAN in Algiers but resumed where he paused from. In Maroc 88, he single handedly demolished Kenya in Nigeria's opening game

      Yekini played in Algeria 90. He actually scored 3 goals in the tournament to finish second top scorer

      What is happening to our super eagles of today, please can somebody tell me?

    • @barthezodegwu8815
      @barthezodegwu8815 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because then played with passion without thinking of money and no ego but now as long as European club signed them pride will set in then ego come, nobody is like them again they will respect their coach or some big players in the team because they feel they arrived .

      @@barthezodegwu8815
      The Super Eagles of the 90s played in bigger and better European clubs than what most Super Eagles players play in today.
      So I don't think having ego is the problem. There are very little quality players (if any) having much playing time in Europe.

      this was no ordinary team oh, they were already building a reputation. If you followed the qualifiers, we had already established a routine of scoring an average of 4 goals in every home game. Finidi and Yekini tagged to change Burkina Faso's name to Burkina Sofa when we hit the 7 goals in goals. I think Yekini scored 5 that day and Finidi had 5 assists and one goal. Interestingly that was Finidi's debut for the national team. Incredible!

    I hate how, over 3 decades, Kenyan athletics/games are still plagued by the same issues that still plagued them in the 90s. boardroom politics and corruption
