My uncle always call “Yekini” cuz I was born on this same day the match was played. Funny enough this is my first time watching Yekini’s video. A true legend he’s ❤️❤️❤️
الله يرحمك يا رشيدي greeting from Egypt to one of the most great striker in Africa i still remember Nigerian team in world cup 94 i used to support that great team
The greatest team Nigeria has ever produced. It's unfortunate that the Country has not been able to produce such team since thereafter. I remember the golden era with sense of nostalgia.
Ivory Coast will never forget you Yekini. I was a child when I watched your goals at TV in 1994. You were so mysterious . You were the Monster of African Football.. Love you Yekini..
The way this legend actually lived life in Nigeria was miserable. African governments are ungrateful; he was mentally affected but nobody cared. He felt so abandoned and finally died at the age of 42.
What a great memory when Nigeria Footballers stand as a team without sentiment or corruption. Rasheed Yekini always ring on my memory my best player so far 9 the loveable jersey. May God forgive you and reward you with great job you sacrifice for your beloved country Nigeria
They still ring in my mind as sweet song, amokachi, amunike, rashid yekini and John nzimbiri.wow treated us to very good African soccer on radio.no TV then.God bless the nation of good soccer in africa
Irreplacable rashidi yakeeni sin we missed you no one like you in our top nine 9 may almighty allah brighness your grave my name is uzairu sunusi abba kano
One of the best strikers. Infact the best Nigeria ever had. A real goal poacher. Talk of power n clinical finish. He has it. I like a striker that bullies defenders. A street or tournament shd be named after this man.
The Great Rashidi Yekini (of blessed memory), never a selfish player, for a true top striker that he was... i also just saw this video on youtube about him ( Rashidi Yekini Célébration vs Bulgarie )
Rest in Peace Rasheed Yekini, one of my favourite all time Nigerian players. So many rough tactics by the Zambian players on Rasheed Yekini and none of the back four booked even for a mere yellow card. Thank a God, this rough tactics have been eliminated in modern football ⚽️
The best Nigerian team ever. Yakini, Babanjida, Amokachi, Kanu, Victor B., Talibu-west, young Jay-Jay Okocha, Amoniki etc... Zambia at that time has lost the best team in a plan crash accident, only one survived was Malitoli, among the best African players ever. RIP golden times.
Forever super eagles fan, from kenya, this golden team i have all their pics in a file, so nostalgic, i was so young then, but the current coach will not achieve anything, why is Nff giving him a target to reach afcon semi finals, why not win the afcon target, the only glimpse of the superagles of the past was only in the 1st half against s. Afica, coach lazima aende, swahili for he must go😄
That was when senior team Nigeria tried unlike now they have made it and not making further efforts. I wish the present team learns from them..... I'm proudly Nigerian
Actually...I beg to differ...the new super eagles squad is actually pretty good with ball control and playmaking. They kinda have some stability now and it's evident since in during Keshi's time when we won AFCON, but got a lot better on Rohr
I don't really know the true strength of that squad, so I can't really say whether they could or not. Was it the squad that won olympic gold in football?..... And as for this squad, I really believe they are pretty good and they seem to be better in the ball overall IMO
In todays market this guy would be playing at a top club...even more influencial than drogba in his prime. Rest in peace champ...those avenues and streets in abuja should be named after people like u, who really gave joy to nigerians...not thieves and killers like babangida and abacha.
Rashidi Yekini was a handful for all defensive lines in Africa and to a few in the World Cup. Supremely athletic and highly motivated. I am happy I saw him play in the Ivory Coast championship for many years for Africa Sports especially in ASEC vs Africa Sports derby.
I can only imagine Yekini playing today's football. What a legend. RIP
He is a Legend in Setúbal!

You gotta give it to man. Seems like he was just mashing hella work upfront. RIP to a legend

@@mbockbrimandi52 Gone too soon😢😭. I hate it when African legends get treated as such especially by their own leaders 😡🤬
I never get tired of watching this match
A Muslim brother from Nigeria , greetings from Indonesia 🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩
Idiot
The name Yekini was synonymous with African football in the 90s

Rip Yekini. Since the exit of Yekini , Nigeria had no good scorer like like..Rest in peace.
This was when Nigeria had a football team ❤️
I was 11 years old when I watch this in 94 time fly
From Nigeria.I remember him.منذر بواب tried to mark him but Rachidi yakini was extra ordinary to be stopped.

Players were picked more for their skills than anything else. Now you find the wrong people managing the football association.
Rest In Peace Champion!

Legend of Afrika
back when Nigeria had a team that can counter attack and do accurate crosses. now we have a team of junior secondary players
Actually...I beg to differ...the new super eagles squad is actually pretty good with ball control and playmaking. They kinda have some stability now and it's evident since in during Keshi's time when we won AFCON, but got a lot better on Rohr
This Nigeria team would have beat Argentina in 2010, 2014 yekini was a beast
Rational cogitator ypou can see the flare in this team was very deep
I don't really know the true strength of that squad, so I can't really say whether they could or not. Was it the squad that won olympic gold in football?..... And as for this squad, I really believe they are pretty good and they seem to be better in the ball overall IMO
Are usa 94 squad and olympic 96 were are best teams but I would say usa 94 since it was are first time on a global stage
