I've watched several DIY glass aquarium videos and this is the first one to explain whether to seal the front/back and side panels on the top or side of the bottom glass. I was wondering that, but no other videos showed it or explained it. Thank you!
Thank you sir for the informative video. Very well explained!! I tried a diy 1 feet cube using this method and can say that its not as easy as it looks. Setting up the panels post applying silicon is tricky as the glass tends to slip. Your hands also gets messy with silicon and finger imprints are all over the glass. My 1st tank was a disaster. It was untidy and even leaked in the end. Had to disassemble the entire tank and removed every bit of silicone using blade. Tried 2nd time and I ditched the Astral resibond used earlier and replaced with DOW. 2nd attempt is way better than 1st!! In the end I would say that if anybody is setting up only 1 tank then its better to get it done professionally unless somebody is really into DIY and wants to experience the process, like I did. The sense of achievement of building your own tank is something else!!😀

In this DIY aquarium I was surprised to see how thin the layer of silicon was at the joints between the glasses. I'm from Kolkata and live near galiff st here this type of tank is called zero silicon tank.. But here there is a confusion as many people refer this tank being not safe as it used very less silicon unlike the traditional tank where the silicon were not cut.. So my question is is this type of tank durable and leak proof for a long time?? Here there is a huge confusion about this concept

sir I have made diy co2 and diffuser for my java fern in my 7 gallon tank and some about 10 ml of that yeast and sugar mixture entered my tank through the pipe I changed 50 % of water but is it harmful for fishes pls tell what should I do for it.
How large is your tank in terms of litres? If your tank is 100 litres then I don’t think 10 ml of yeast will pose much of a problem provided you keep the water well aerated as the yeast are also going to consume oxygen which may suffocate the fish. You might also get a large bacterial bloom but that will go away with several large water changes over time. If the water is too cloudy from all the yeast use Seachem Clarity to clear it up and replace the filter pad in your filter once it has done its job. This happened to me once and I have switched to pressurized co2 system since then, it seems expensive in the beginning but is very efficient in the long run. Cheers..!!😁
@@theindianmarineaquarist2035 bro it also happened with me again this time it got so pressurised that atleast 100 mls of it came in my tank the fishes are not even visible I changed as much water I can now also it is little bit cloudy but one qts is yeast harmful to fishes does it cause any disease in them pls help
@@ankitvadnere7451 it will not cause any disease but the yeast will surely suffocate the fish because it will pull out oxygen from the water. I suggest you remove the fishes in a different tank with an established filter ASAP.

I was planning for 5ft length, breadth 15inch and ht 2ft coz it’s gonna be on partition wall. Both sides 5ft length will be visible. So I was planning 12mm glass with bracing( 4 bottom and 4 top). Bracing coz aquarium will be covered with plywood. What do u suggest for this? Imp is that should l need to silicon above the bottom glass nor to the sides and What’s the role does it gonna do?
Go with 5 foot length 24" height and 16" width of you can because you'll pay for that size to the glass guy. Or even better try 24" width. Or 18". 16" might look too slim for that long tall tank. YMMV.

sir, me 2*2*1 feet ka tank banana chahata hu. muze batana ki jese aapane silicone lagaya same wese hi apply karu ? means aapne tape lagate time cut to cut lagaya. baki log jese extra silicone joint pe lagate he wese nahi lagaya. kya me bhi itne bade tank ko aapke jese lagavu ?

@@javedhuzain2235 it's not safe at all. That size tank will do fine with 6mm glass not 3mm. Better to upgrade than regret later on.

Can the same principle of glass placement work for any big size aquariums, or should the placement of side and front glasses be from the outside?
Yes it can work and we use the same in all sizes of tanks we make

I always follow your videos on TH-cam and i would like to Thank you for a wonderful video on making an DIY aquarium. You mentioned in this video that in ADA Aquariums, bottom would be inside all side glasses. But in this video you are placing side glasses on top of the bottom glass. Just i wanted to know is there any reason for placing the side glass on top of the bottom glass. Or is it better to place them to the side of bottom glass.

sir I have made diy co2 and diffuser for my java fern in my 7 gallon tank and some about 10 ml of that yeast and sugar mixture entered my tank through the pipe I changed 50 % of water but is it harmful for fishes pls tell what should I do for it.
How large is your tank in terms of litres?
If your tank is 100 litres then I don’t think 10 ml of yeast will pose much of a problem provided you keep the water well aerated as the yeast are also going to consume oxygen which may suffocate the fish. You might also get a large bacterial bloom but that will go away with several large water changes over time. If the water is too cloudy from all the yeast use Seachem Clarity to clear it up and replace the filter pad in your filter once it has done its job.
This happened to me once and I have switched to pressurized co2 system since then, it seems expensive in the beginning but is very efficient in the long run.

@@ankitvadnere7451 it will not cause any disease but the yeast will surely suffocate the fish because it will pull out oxygen from the water. I suggest you remove the fishes in a different tank with an established filter ASAP.

I was planning for 5ft length, breadth 15inch and ht 2ft coz it’s gonna be on partition wall. Both sides 5ft length will be visible. So I was planning 12mm glass with bracing( 4 bottom and 4 top). Bracing coz aquarium will be covered with plywood. What do u suggest for this?
Imp is that should l need to silicon above the bottom glass nor to the sides and What’s the role does it gonna do?
This seems fine, also make space for the filter pipes and lighting
Go with 5 foot length 24" height and 16" width of you can because you'll pay for that size to the glass guy. Or even better try 24" width. Or 18". 16" might look too slim for that long tall tank. YMMV.

sir, me 2*2*1 feet ka tank banana chahata hu. muze batana ki jese aapane silicone lagaya same wese hi apply karu ? means aapne tape lagate time cut to cut lagaya. baki log jese extra silicone joint pe lagate he wese nahi lagaya. kya me bhi itne bade tank ko aapke jese lagavu ?
