Man, now I'm just remembering when my dad was growing tomatoes and a rabbit out back wanted a snacky and I was just watching them eat on the plant and I was all "aww that rabbit's eating a lil bit of tomato :3 " and dad FREAKED OUT and ran out to chase 'em off, it was hilarious XD
I want to impress upon you that I was an adult when I witnessed this, not a silly lil kid, I just thought "rabbit cute, tomato monch sillie" hehe.

My uncle has the exact same issue. He has a massive garden with dozens of different vegetables. Because of the rabbits, raccoons, and birds, he’s had to put up so much wire mesh netting and other defenses up to protect them.

Mal standing with her hands on her hips looking at that precarious planter had me smiling so much! Definitely have been there thinking, “Hmmm this did not work out the way I wanted it to”

My sister has an extensive vegetable garden that she adores. She calls rabbits "demon munchers" because they do in fact love to eat tomatoes...And anything else.

I set up a fence using cattle panels last year and it was doing a good job of keeping out rabbits. One morning we looked under our cucumber plants and about five newborn bunnies were under them. Still working on a new fence.

I love IKEA furniture, especially with pets. I don’t get torn up when something inevitably happens to the furniture like the cats scratching it because it’s not super expensive, and it’s an excuse to get Swedish meatballs

Just remember Stephen and Mal, the hawks around here are your friend with respect to the rabbit problem.

Yknow as an adult, the story of Peter rabbit is a lot more sympathetic from the other side lol

There are around two rabbits in this area, but with the dogs, they don't come very far onto the property. We mainly have to watch out for those annoying green worms. We had a few this year and I haven't seen any more yet after I gave the ones I found to the chickens.

I'm really into plants and this reminded me that I wanna try my hand at growing tomatoes some time.

I guess Peter Rabbit decided to pay a visit to your Tomato Plants.

Can attest. Our rabbit's absolutely stripped our tomato plant. They stayed alive until age 4, which I've heard is their average age so I've always just assumed they could handle the toxins somehow.

Aww bunny's cute but I guess it's not helping with the plants. Looking forward to seeing how everything gets set up (tomatoes and all)!

Yeah, deer and rabbits are awful at eating anything you want to grow. Armadillos, moles, and gophers like to dig up your plants too. I’ve noticed more serious gardeners near where I’ve lived have always had to put some sort of fence up to keep all the critters out

If I'm remembering correctly those IKEA desk legs usually have an adjuster at the bottom of the leg

I planted tomatoes at my old hose bur when my dad and I moved into an apartment we are only allowed to have certain plants.

We had issues with...birds and like berries etc. My dad solution was making a cat enclosure for my cat which she loves and it keeps the birds out. LOL

      Depending on the fence
Also put some Chicken Wire around it
It will help keep out Rabbits

I’ve been seeing a lot of rabbits in my neighborhood this year but they’ve mostly been grazing on the lawn.

Plant some onions, garlic and lavender around the tomato plants, rabbits hate the smell of them.

Having food plant pots hanging from the fence prevents rabbits, but does not discourage iguanas at all. FloridaProblems(tm)
