Hate to hear that Mr Calvin but the white bags should keep them deer out the garden for sure!! I had the same problem here, the deer mowed down all my purple hull peas, it was certainly a first for me as I've never had a deer problem before!! Looking forward to your update on this sir!! Y'all take care over there!! Dan

Thanks Dan. Yes this is the first time the deer have bothered my garden this early in the season. I looked this morning and I think it worked last night.
They deer can do a lot of damage fast.

Well the next video should be a couple of dear hanging off the meat pole. Hope those bags work, they did the same to me last year with my pepper plants and I took a bar of Irish spring soap and shaved off little pieces around the area and it seemed to work. Take care and God Bless.😎

So sorry to see this. Deer ate 20+ of big tomato plants in our three raised beds. We started seedling all 9 varieties from early summer, now they destroyed 8 of them... We have never had to add chicken wires to protect tomatoes plants in raised beds in the past, but lessons learned this year.

This happens in my yard and garden regularly. My property borders Eno River State Park, and we have herds coming through every day. The only thing that really deters them is double fence electric. Not double strand, double fence. Everything else they just go right on over and in. If you are interested, Google deerbuilder.com. Im not affiliated with them, just have found this works. This type of fence is easy to install and is low enough to the ground to deter groundhogs and rabbits also. We use a solar power pack that mounts right on the fence so you don’t even need to plug it up. Hope this helps. Melody B in NC

I got destroyed while I was out working today. I am not a happy camper right now after all the work I put in. I am hoping they can recover....but my cages are built already so I am gonna get those in the ground TODAY and see if they survive...they ate almost the entire plant on some. If they die I'll give it another go cuz my wife REALLY wants her tomatoes...I'm just glad I brought some I had in pots inside this morning before work. Looks like it's time to deer proof even though I live in the city.

Thanks for watching Justin. You are right about that. I know that after I cut the top out they will quit getting taller and the tomatoes get bigger. If I leave them out there I will probably still get a few tomatoes. I will probably do that just to see how they do. I may turn one of the branches up an see if it will continue to get taller.

I had the same thing happen to about 8 out of my 35 tomato plants today. They also ate half my bush beans, some sunflower heads, and thankfully some wild weeds. What I don't understand is that I thought tomato leaves are poisonous (solanine) to humans AND animals. So are potato leaves and roots. The potato is just the tuber within the root. Anyway, I'm surprised the deer don't poison themselves by doing this.

Deer can ruin a garden in just one night. They seem to like the smaller plants before they start producing tomatoes. The plants will still grow and produce tomatoes but just not as many.
