Came for the Raspberry Bombe but stayed for the backlit scenes. Great idea, night runs work well with such imagination. (makes notes to try harder...) A
Looks like they could have easily been headed in to shovel pieces of carbon off the roof of reactor 4. Love the backlit stuff, that was awesome. Night runs are sweet.
Ah ha ha thanks, that's exactly the look I was going for! This thing just looked so at home in the ice and snow. Merry xmas and happy new year, by the way! 😎👍
What was that About Silly O'clock and the cold... LMAO Brrr... I was REALLY feeling it man.. What a great video once again ... Super scale and Super fun to watch.
Ah ha, it's military innit! Unfortunately a lot of information is classified, such as but not limited to what the hell is wrong with me. It just seemed the perfect conditions for this truck, and I thought it looked ace! I'd have filmed more but I was really starting to suffer and even my camera was increasingly refusing to focus... 🥶 I realise all this would be practically a summer's day to you, but hey, I'm not used to it! All the best man and happy xmas. 😎👍
Thanks Derek! These comments seem to be appearing and disappearing in my list, so apologies if you get multiple replies. Or none. Though then you won't know about the apology. 🤔
I used a Hobbywing 1080 esc - they're quite cheap, but great, and they have a remote switch. There's not much room in this truck so that's handy - I put the esc under the seats and the on/off switch on the cab floor behind the door, where it's easy to reach. Then a waterproof 25KG servo from eBay for steering. And a brushed 540 motor. The motor is the issue with these - there's barely room. Don't get a 550, as it won't fit! Get a 540. Even then, some 540s (like the RC4WD ones) don't fit. In my experience, the ones with replaceable brushes (they have a load of complex-looking parts on one end, instead of just being a simple can) tend to be the shortest. I used one like that. You can get them quite cheaply - £15 or so. The gearing is quite high on this truck, so use a 45T or 55T (higher turns are slower) to get some good slow control. Good luck with the build and enjoy it! 👍
One of your best mate. Loved the shot into the light . Is that based on a real lorry . What would you recommend to get started in the World of rc Military Style Trucks ?
Thanks very much! I was really excited to see the ice crystals floating around. 🤓 Thought that was pretty cool. Yes, this is actually an extremely accurate replica of a Chinese CA 30, which is itself a licensed copy of the Russian Zil-157. Google either and you'll see, or find videos - even the chassis is super scale! This is by King Kong, but I wouldn't recommend it as a first build in this kind of truck. They can be extremely fiddly and sometimes bits need a bit of finagling to get them to fit. They're also not the most rugged things. Probably the best scale military trucks are from Cross RC (Greens Models is the UK importer and Simon there is excellent for advice and general service), though they're not cheap! The bodies can be quite involved as they often need gluing together from multiple parts, but the results are surprisingly tough and very good looking. The chassis are a bit tougher too - not SCX/TRX tough, but good enough for some hard scale challenges. Anyway, hope that helps a bit, and have a great xmas and new year! Cheers! 😎👍
@@rccrawlersmid-wales645 the ice crystals looked fab . Yeah I’ve seen a few cross rc models. Something I Night Check out in the future. They look stunning and thst 8x8 is a beast . Thanks mate have a good Christmas 😊👍👍👍
We actually had very little snow, just constant hard frosts that never melted and sort of grew each day. So it's not very deep - the ice was very thick though! Thanks for watching. 😎👍
In it's natural element, and no clean up after. Love the lighting.
Yeah, that was actually really nice - it was so cold nothing was melting and the rig stayed perfectly clean! Thanks for watching, man. 😎👍
A powerful truck fits perfectly into such a harsh winter climate 💪 Masterfully made video! 👏
👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you very much! I also thought the conditions were just perfect for it. 😎👍

I won't know if it's raspberry flavour until it explodes, unfortunately.

Awesome
Thanks!
