Hi, Allett recommend that you either remove or raise the little grass rake behind the front roller if you are using the scarifying or verticutter cartridge as it can dig into the soil and degrade the battery quicker.

I have the same setup - Liberty 43, scarifier & verticut. Luckily here in the UK we have much smaller gardens, so they are a perfect size 😅

Yes. Makes perfect sense for smallers lawns and would be excellent choice. I appreciate the support from overseas 👍🏻

Purchased the Liberty 43 and cartridges. WHile it worked great for the first few months, since then had to replace belts, power unit and can't seem to cut more than 4-5mm at a time w/o stalling out. Would love any tips as it was a sizeable investment.

Make sure your reel to bedknife clearance isn’t too tight. There should be contact but not a lot. If the reel is too tight it can cause belt issues. Also in regards to cutting reel you want to make sure the blade is sharp as they can cause the boog down but also if the reel is too loose or too tight this can happen. Sorry if this s provide too much guidance as i am not an expert on the Allets. I would also say that when you adjust the reel to bedknife i would do it with the cartridge in the mower as the tolerance can change if you set it outside of the mower. I would also recommend checking the Facebook forums as there are allet ones specific that may have answers.

I am cutting my celebration bermuda at 1.25" w my Cal Trimmer. I am starting to see some streaks/uneven cutting. Is there an adjustment that I need address? I checked the concrete to level, the the roller and the bar and they are level. Didn't know if the bed knife or rear drum have an adjustment??
Thanks for all you content and help!!
    Looks awesome 👌

I would check the reel to bedknife clearance and make sure it’s cutting paper. I’m not sure if that’s related to the streaking. If the unevenness just started it could be because the turf is getting really thick and the mower will start to float. If you mean tire streaking from the 2 main rolling rear tires this is normal on the cal trimmer and maybe more noticeable on higher heights of cut. Hope this helps but definitely start by checking that your reel is cutting cleaning all the way across the bedknife

As it's a used liberty, I'd check the tension of the belts, you might be losing a bit of speed there.

Nice video, yes I like the veritcut concept, have a large yard cutting around 1-1 .25 inch, cleaning up thatch great idea, having big issue with fungus this season tons of rain and humidity west tn.just not sure what piece of equipment to get.any ideas.thanks.

I think regardless of what you do, you will have a lot to clean up as if your goal is to remove thatch i would use a detacher more often then a verticutter. There are fairly inexpensive option such as sunjoe or greenworks. Those options are corded which makes inexpensive but you will need to clean up the debri by taking it or using a rotary mower. Detaching will definitely help with fungus as lawns with alot of thatch are more prone to fungus. Another option would be to use a fungicide more often. I would look at mixing it though as like antibiotics for people your lawn can be immune to the fungicide if you are always using the same active ingredient. For example maybe use Propiconazole one month and the use azoxystrobin the next. Hope this helps 👍🏻

Thanks, may not have a great deal of thatch just dealing with a thick Bermuda lawn, and some fungus, really bad in this neck of the woods this year.I have seen those mentioned above brands will look into them, big yard tho.have applied fungicide with rotation, hopefully we can dry out some.thx.

haha. dang it man, i was looking all over the internet for this exact video, couldn't find it, so then just made a video testing the scarifier on my own lawn bermuda yesterday, and then this video pops up. Love it. Appreciate it man.

Ah man… sorry to hear that my video was hard to find, but glad you ultimately found it. As long as you don’t go too aggressive on Bermuda scarifying does a good job removing thatch from the lawn. I still am on the fence whether it’s truly necessary though. As long as you cutting often and not leaving extra long clipping on the lawn i don’t thinks it’s really important. Allett makes it easier because you can catch your clipping vs like a sunjoe that although does have a bagger doesn’t really work really well and will require clean up afterwards. I will say though if you are scarifying often and you really are minimizing thatch you will be preventing a lot of diseases that like thatch and that’s always a good thing 👍🏻

@@dwaynesworldlawn right on. Yeah glad I found your channel. I’m in So cal too and trying to do a lot of the same things you are. Haven’t seen a lot of vids in our climate so good to see it! Glad I got off my butt and made a video about it anyway. It was fun to get back into it.

G'day Dwayne, the Allett looks like a good mower being able to change out the cartridges, some guy's have them here in Sydney . Your lawn is looking good to mate coming along nicely with your summer, I'm freezing here with our winter😆
