I have just done this, but didn't bother removing the ventilation grilles. I tested the socket before fitting it to the cover, to make sure there was power there. I also used part 13156391 instead of 13222794. That's the retaining ring with the hinged cover, the same as the one by the handbrake. Gives a very neat finish. No loom on my 10 plate elite. Not surprised though as its Vauxhall cost cutting at its finest. Will either run it from the boot fuse box or tap into the front ciggie lighter. I also drilled the hole to make it a little larger. This is to fit a 12v quick charge double USB charger.
If there's no original aux /cigarette lighter connector that you can push into ! and you just have a blanking disc in it's place; then chances are this won't work because there's no wiring loom/wires to connect too. Buying the parts before checking first can cost up to £10.00. So check for wires first before ordering . I have a zafira b 2007 life and have found NO wires to connect too. Hope this helps a saves you a few ££.
Hi all just got a 14 plate Zafira Design, I saw the video and tried to add a power outlet all fitted okay but no power, checked the fuses in the boot area, all appear okay. Is there a relay like the boot power outlet, any ideas?

Loom was present , the loom if present can be felt through the hole and pulled out, to test Aux supply

scottishfanta Yes, same problem here. 1.8 2009 petrol elite and no rear console 12v loom to be seen any where. Suppose I should have checked first.

11 plate energy, has no plug or wire taped down because there isn't any.
