Unbelievable to walk into an opium den and get high to walk into the Corner Drug store and get cocaine or morphine I'm 80 years old and you could go into any drug store in the country laudanum and many cocaine mixers still available but if you were caught with one joint of marijuana you would spend the rest of your life in prison Free People in free states should be able to use recreational marijuana

This movie is all about the "smile" of the last scene.
So, if you don't understand this scene, it won't be a deep movie.
Near the end, Noodles robbed Max of everything
You don't even try to kill it, you're just stunned.
It was strange. Originally, it should have been extremely expensive.
No, I could have killed him.
Max is a guilty conscience, but he jumps in and commits suicide,
The reaction of the noodles was somewhat unsettling.
As it is, the moment I thought it was an end mark,
We will have a shocking last scene.
A "smile" that seems to spill out from the depths of your heart after you puff up in the opium den.
It's a tremendous smile. It can be said that it is the best smile in movie history.
After watching this scene and meeting Max at the end of Noodles
I understood the meaning of unsettling behavior.
The scene near the beginning, the safe deposit box where you should have saved money,
It's a blank. Actually, that scene is the last scene,
It's the morning after the opium den.
You probably pretended to be sad after your companion died,
After that, alone in the opium den, look up and look up
smile. Ah, money can be monopolized.
This is the "smile" of joy.
Because his companion died and I was really pleased
Even if you know the truth that Max was fooled at the end
Perhaps it was a human being with a faint content that did not rise sharply.
