    There is only one real version, Leone's long version. And for me, the greatest movie ever made.

      @Yotam Avidar He means Leone's director's cut as opposed to the chopped version the idiotic studio heads released in America.

    • @BumpyHumpyDumpy
      @BumpyHumpyDumpy 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Has Leone’s actual cut ever been released on home video? Just curious as I’ve only seen “extended cuts” that range into the running time of the Leone cut, but scenes were being restored as recently as 2012.

    • @jamesdalessandro1120
      @jamesdalessandro1120 3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@BumpyHumpyDumpy Interesting question, Aaron. YES... the Long version is indeed Leone's cut. The American version cut the film down by over an hour, and re-edited it to where the scenes were chronological. What was marvelous about the original were the cuts back and forth in time, so you see how events of the past influenced the future. That long version is now readily available everywhere - I don't know that they're even selling that bastardized short version anywhere.

      The CGI they used in the Irishman to make him look young. He still looked old in the parts that he was supposed to be young. He's pushing 80 if he isn't already so i guess it's kind of hard to make someone that old look young.

    The singer is Douglas Meakin, originally from Liverpool, he moved to Italy in the ‘60 and had great success with a group called “The Motowns”. He then did an incredible career and worked with prominent Italian artists.he did several movies with Morricone. ( Meakin cooperated in at least 80 movies, wrote and sang many songs).
    A versatile Artist much loved from his colleagues and from the people. He is 79 years old and still rocks as he still holds concerts with the Superobots group, mainly in Rome, as he also did iconic anime’s songs in Italian. A living legend.

    Как гениально Леоне показал переход от одной эпохи в другую.
    The BEATLES это целая эпоха, котрая изменила мир.
    И символом этой эпохи безусловно является одна из великих песен прошлого века песня Yesterday.
    The BEATLES это революция. Это как гром при ясной погоде, это как оазис в пустыне.

Sometimes I want to see it again, but it's not the running time but the emotional feel of sadness, joy and betrayal that take me in my inner hopes and fears. it's something about life, what you expect from friends and love and the disillusion, the loneliness of being estranged by the force of destiny. Just imagine surving the Roaring 20's into the depression. You either survived or died. There were NO welfare programs, no federal support, you were on your own. Forget about going to the Department of Human Services it didn't exist. If you were poor you either found stable employment, hustled or relied on charity. If you couldn't make it, the last stop was the poor house, yes the poor house was an actual place. Its fun to fantasize being a part of that era but most people today wouldn't make it if they had the chance to go back.
