My two most favorite actors in the same room. I wouldn't be able to conduct the interview. They are so talented and they are both 100% capable of making you believe that they are who you're watching on film. Brilliance personified!!!
I wish somebody looked at me the way Ben looks at Gary... He seems to admire and respect Gary so much... Both are amazing actors. I particularly like Gary better, he is definitely brilliant, genious. This is a very interesting interview for sure... Gary' s acting as Winston Churchill deserved an Oscar undoubtedly. I wonder why Gary does not have more Oscars, his work should receive more recognition.....
I'm glad Gary finally won over the elusive Oscar dude by doing what he does better than anyone; totally losing himself in a character. Yes it is overdue but a very nice recognition for the greatest chameleon of his generation.
I saw "Darkest Hour"; better than I expected, even seeing reviews and hearing the "Oscar buzz". Early in this interview I am going: "Wait a second; this is Prime Minister Winston Churchill and the King of England, George VI?" Amazing.
I just love how a great actor like Ben Mendelsohn shows so much respect for Mr. Oldman (the legend). Ben has much to say, but stops himself to listen/learn from the legend. #actorslife #respect
The match made in heaven))You can see and feel how much Ben admires Gary, how attentively he listens to every single word) The ending is so heartfelt) Ben is just melting away when Gary praises him))Ben is such a humble and modest person with incredible talent)) Gary is Actor's actor for sure))
Gary Oldman and Ben Mendelsohn are exquisite here. Darkest Hour is a journey that should be taken over and over again so as not to miss every stroke of masterful acting and writing that culminates into a sumptuous work.
Yes, the sound isn't perfect but I was so deeply entranced by the conversation that unfolded that it hardly mattered if at all. As long as you can clearly hear and understand them everything else is just nitpicking to me. I also loved the camaraderie and the genuine admiration they have openly shared at the end.
These are not only A-List actors, but also some of our finest. There is a natural appeal that comes from the interplay of the two. I admire both so much. I enjoyed the interview, but I agree, the sound quality needs work. More importantly, the balance of the interview needs work. I love Mendelsohn, but he dominates a bit, and I think it is because the interviewer focuses a lot on him and calls him amazing at the end. They are both amazing, and Oldman has been amazing for a long time. Mendelsohn is today's rising star--who has also had a long and intriguing career--but Oldman has been working well and making excellent choices for decades. Give him his due. He's not today's flavor; he's simply one of the best practitioners of his craft.
As always, great interviews, shit production. I only take the time to write this because i love these so much. Get an intern. So many talented young people would love to work on these. If only the setup... Anyways, cheers.
Again, the sound is suffering in this interview. I watch all of these, appreciate your work and dedication, but is there any way to improve the sound quality? Great work otherwise. Thank you, best wishes, JC
Wow your third Gary Oldman interview! You need a third Mark Ruffalo interview soon. He has a HBO series in pre-production now. Some Wally Lamb novel adaptation.
I agree with the other commenters that the content quality and format of these interviews are of the highest order, but the technical side is rather poor, especially the sound quality. This is particularly a shame since I like to download these talks and listen to them on my MP3-player like a podcast. You'd do yourself and your audience a huge favor by upping the production quality of your work - just saying. Thank you nonetheless!
Emeril the chef says: "Let's kick it up a notch! ... Bam!" made fun of on Futurama for example when Elzar the intergalactic chef goes "Hit it with the spice weasel! ... Bam!"
I really admire Gary Oldman and he is my idol but I have to say that I have heard the same story about how he got the retired man to do his makeup for at least three times. LOL. Also, it’s funny to see the scene that he wanted to say much but the words were just stuck there. Ahaha
Just because Gary Oldman speaks slower and in a softer voice doesn't make him wise. He comes off as doddering in this interview. Jittery, oafish Ben Mendelsohn came off as more intelligent.
Well...tell that to the casting directors...this guys just interview the stars of the movies who are being talked about at the moment, they do not choose the color of who they interview

OMG I love Ben Mendelsohn.

Love the chemistry between these guys haha
I just love how a great actor like Ben Mendelsohn shows so much respect for Mr. Oldman (the legend). Ben has much to say, but stops himself to listen/learn from the legend. #actorslife #respect
Gary is a legend, laughable that he didn’t even get nominated for Leon
EVERYONE agrees.
that's bad
Such respect for both these great actors.

2 of the BEST
Your best one so far, bro - keep up the great work.
Amazing interview!

*Delightful*

KajiCarson the white balance is out as well (or maybe it’s my iPad screen) as it gets darker periodically :/
Both have so funny laughs
just love them!
Oh No, looked forward to this one. What a terrible mess with the audio, can't listen for more than 2 minutes without getting a headache.
Dazey all growed up!
Was the audio recorded on my grandmother's dentures?

Well..he couldn't make up another story, that's what happened so ... lol it just means that you watched a lot of interviews with the same questions.
Andrzej moved from Poland to Issaquah Washington To Carry on the legacy of Arek
22:25 ladies and gentelmen
What does Gary Oldman say at 30:25?
Ich wäre gerne der Tisch oder noch besser der Sessel auf dem er sitzt.🤭
What did he say 22:25
"...and she went 'actually I realised I am now talking to the wrong person' ..."
I love the Kristin Scott Thomas anecdote. "Yeah tell me about it sweetheart, I've been here since 2:30..." lol
What's with this horrible audio? Oh my god it's killing me.

sometimes when I watch Gaz... he's so affectionate with men that I think he might be gay. no matter xoxo
Been mendelson seems drunk from the night before.
Acting the superior being
That's just what he's like in an interview. Apparently he's actually quite shy, so he pushes himself a bit to be more extroverted.
Just because Gary Oldman speaks slower and in a softer voice doesn't make him wise. He comes off as doddering in this interview. Jittery, oafish Ben Mendelsohn came off as more intelligent.
Hmmm ok. No one said that. Both are smart, Gary is a legend as an actor but is shy and maybe introverted, Ben is not. That's It.
More Diversity in interviewees
I can tell you that I have not turned down an interview with anyone of color in a while. I wish more were being offered.
Well...tell that to the casting directors...this guys just interview the stars of the movies who are being talked about at the moment, they do not choose the color of who they interview
