I’m happy that 611 has a home at Strasburg and the museum that loaned her butt Norfolk Southern needs to run her again I’m betting the board doesn’t realize how much popularity Norfolk Southern will become if they were to restore 1218 and let 611 run again.
The history of this train in short: it was built in 1951 where thats the time when they started to scrap trains so 611 was suppose to be scrapped very early luckily he had a major crash which got him to be preserved and its opperational again (also do you know that 611 met thomas at strasburg)

I love modern trains but damn steam engines just feels different ☺️
I know rightft
I love how each steam engine has a unique whistle or "voice." I almost feel they have a soul.
Agreed! Some make a whole hobby out of just whistles!
Cool train

That's what makes steam engines more interesting than electric trains. Just like cars.

Great locomotive/ quiet horn
It is not quiet when you are seeing it in-person!
Yes that's true but I still prefer model trains without the bells and whistles cast in metal.
But this isn’t a model, this is at Strasburg.
