  • Railway line from the capital of Serbia to the Romanian border (Railway line Beograd - Pančevo - Alibunar - Vršac - state border) is one among an extensive Vojvodina railway lines network. It is a railway line through plains, but not at all boring, and according to the construction configuration, it is not an ordinary flat railway. Regardless of the plains it passes through, there are a lot of small radius curves and demanding ascents on this line.
    The video shows a diesel motor unit passenger train cabride from the main railway station in Belgrade, through tunnels under the central part of the city, and then over a large steel bridge on the Danube River towards Pančevo. After crossing the Danube river, line continues to the territory of Banat and then near Pančevo, line crosses another large steel bridge over the Tamiš river. After Pančevo railway junction, the track becomes non-electrified. Along the way, train pass through and serves many nonfunctioning inoperative defunct stations.
    In addition to the tracks near Vladimirovac and Alibunar, there are new wind farms with a lot of windmills. Along the way, there are also numerous level crossings in the fields. This can be very inconvenient due to careless farmers that cross tracks with their tractors without paying attention to the oncoming train. Several such situations are recorded in this video.
    The length of this line is 87km. Maximum allowed train speed is 100km/h. The longest tunnel is "Vračar" (L=3510m). The longest bridge is "Pančevački most" (L=1067m). Line has double and single track parts. It has new light track signals and the old type of mechanical semaphore track signals. All essential and relevant information like maximum speeds, slow order speeds, limited speeds, elevation and current ride location are shown during the video.

    This looks just like North-central to West Texas by the Oklahoma border along US Highway 287 before you hit Amarillo. I have done that drive out to Las Vegas and back from Dallas so many times and with the exception of the houses, this route looks just like it. Beautiful farmland in Serbia just like here! This is great to relax to. Thank you very much for sharing!

I make the trip out to Las Vegas from Dallas twice a year; in spring, then in fall, but because of the pandemic, I haven't driven out there this year due to trade shows being canceled. Once the trade shows start back up again, I will record the stretch of road that I mentioned above and post it.

    In italiano. Da bambino questa tratta la facevo spesso, avendo i parenti a Belgrado. Il sono del gennaio 1958. L’ultima volta sono stato Vrsac nel 1988 dalla nonna e preso il treno. Poi ho fatto, il Natale 1989 al 3 gennaio 1990 a Temisvara ma niente treno. Mi ricordo i nomi di certe stazioni come Alibunar, Uljma e Pancevo e Vlajkovaz. I nonni stavano a Vrsaz e il nonno era ferroviere e Partigiano. Vrsac era una stazione importante. Era un passaggio dalla Romania di Ciauscesku. Oggi non so se ci sono treni tra i Romeni e Serbi. C’era anche l’Officina delle locomotive a vapore e deposito dei carri bestiame. Il nonno aveva la casa dopo il primo passaggio a livello tra Vrsac e Pavlis. A poche centinaia di metri della ferrovia. In serbo. Pino posdtava stima koji mogu da citaju ono sto piscem. Zio mi je da nemogu da piscem i u srbski, kao u italianski. Srecna 2024 is Bologne. Miro…..

    Dule, puno ti hvala za ovaj video. Kao mali jako sam često putovao sa bakom šinobusom ovom deonicom ali u Belu Crkvu, i jako bih voleo da pruga prema Beloj Crkvi bude obnovljena i ponovo puštena u saobraćaj.

    Kako je moguće da je infrastruktura železnice toliko devastirana ? Zar ne postoji služba održavanja , koja bi Morala da redovno krči rastinje kod prelaza bez rampi ? Najlakše je doneti idiotsku odluku : Da voz stane pred svakim poljskim puteljkom i stazom koji preseca prugu ! Ni to nije dovoljno! Videli smo vozača koji je u zadnjem trenutku ( kada je voz krenuo) odlučio da projuri ispred njega ( na pruzi od Požarevca ka Zaječaru)! Ko krade rampe ?

      @@gab_v250 Serbian Railways company could demand it to be renovated and turned into railway museum, when they gave it away for free, but they don't care about railways.
      Only "good thing" is that entrance to future metro station will be located in area of former platforms, since that way it will keep to some extent function of the station but for subway trains :(.

    Excellent video as usual. Thanks for sharing! Question: How do engineers and train operators know when to sound the horn when approaching crossings? I don't see any signs alerting them of the need to do so. Is there an electronic signal? Or do operators consult a map?

      You're welcome! There is no any electronic signals. Engine drivers pay attention and follow the signs along the track (red/white pillar signal mark, 500m before railroad crossing) and when he notices it, he must horns while approaching to the crossing.

    Nikad mi nije bilo jasno zašto su naručili Dizel-elekrični voz, bez mogućnosti da koristi kontaktnu mrežu.
    Ovaj bi sve do Pančeva mogao da vozi na struju.
    Na liniji do Kosova, za šta je i kupljen, imao bi struju Kraljeva.

    A most interesting ride. I appreciated the detailed remarks to read before viewing so we knew what to expect. Saw all the old Semaphores, wondering if they are being left for history? Saw the tractor nearly crossing in front of the train and the station wagon inside the gate but fortunately clear of the line. All rather run down I thought. I can't remember what of these areas were involved in wars not all that long ago? Thanks very much for the trip. I am subscribed.

    Dule jedno pitanje.Posle PA mosta je Vmax 100, koliko realno ide voz. Izgleda da nema onih laganih voznji ?.Hvala.

      Posle Pančevačkog mosta je dozvoljena brzina 100km/h, a voz je išao nešto sporije. Nema više laganih vožnji, ali između Ovče i Pančeva duže vremena ima neispravnih ss uređaja, pa se tu malo produži vozno vreme.

    19:54 passes yellow and keeps picking up speed. How does engineer knows to ignore the signal? Do they have a list of restrictions/signal system failures with them in the cab? Seems kinda dangerous running railroad like that getting personnel used to flying past and ignore restricted signal aspects )

    Odlični su filmovi, ali kao što sam već rekao, mislim da bi bilo dobro da od svakog filma napravite ubrzani video - time lapse... Što se tiče predloga za sledeće snimanje, Vi ste snimili dobar deo pruga regiona, Srbije i Evrope, tako da stvarno sve pohvale ! Moj neki predlog za sledeći ovakav projekat bi bio jadranska pruga - Hrvatska... Split - Zagreb...

      Liči da jeste. Retka pojava na staničnim kolosecima, jer dtš nije dugačak kao na otvorenoj pruzi, ali obzirom da se taj kolosek ne koristi i da na tom mestu nedostaje pričvrsni pribor, može da nastane i tu.

    Pitam se koji će nam "K" novi vozovi ako ovaj ide samo 80 km /sat? Ne razumem, mi smo se radovali i isčekivali nove i brže vozove i skraćivanje vremena putovanja od tačke A do tačke B a dobili smo šta?Možda je pruga stara?

      Pruga je projektovana za ove brzine, nema to veze sa vozom. Ovaj voz je dizajniran za brzine od 100 km/h za regionalne i lokalne pruge manjeg prometa, imamo mi EMV za 160 km/h isto za regionalna kretanja (iako se koriste kao daljinski) , a sad kupujemo nove vozove za 200 km/h za BG-NS gde ce biti pruga za 200 km/h. Moramo razumeti da nije sve poenta u brzini i brzim prugama jer to negde realno nije isplativo. Najbrže pruge u Švajcarskoj su za 200 km/h jer tamo vozovi ne idu najbrže moguće nego onoliko koliko je potrebno da bi bilo isplativo i da bi se napravio dobar red vožnje .
      Što se nove pruge tiče, predviđena je modernizacija i elektrifikacija pruge. Predviđena su 2 koloseka za brzine od 160km/h (to je deo od Pančeva do Vršca) međutim ovo teško da će skoro

    Super snimak dule. Znaci ne vozi se 100 na sad celom deonicom. Malo sam razocaran deonicom do panecva jer ne rade pruzni prelazi. Isto tako kao je projektovana brzina 120 na sat. A ne razumem zasto na obelezenim pruznim prelazima voz staje a na neobelzenim ne? 1.38 ipak za 80 km pruge je previse. Da srede pruzne prelaze i lagane voznje smanjili bi na 1.25 a tek tada bi voz koji ne staje do beograda stigao za sat vremena. Kad gledam projektovane brzine za prugu beograd novi sad nema sanse da se stigne za 45 minuta a kamoli pola sata. Nego dule tamo gde je vmax 100 nemam utisak da je voz isao vise od 80 do 90. Mozda gresim. Hvala na predobrom snimku

      Nema na čemu. Pravila su takva da voz mora da se zaustavi ispred putnog prelaza kada uređaji za osiguranje putnog prelaza ne rade, odnosno kada su u kvaru (branici, svetlosna signalizacija...).

      Ja nisam zeleznicar, ali tako da kazem "brojao" sam prelaze bez rampi. Lakse je bilo izbrojati one SA rampom, na prstima jedne ruke. Video je extra, al malo odrzavanja je vise nego ocigledno.
