Hell Let Loose mains, please come to Red Orchestra 2. We even have the Pacific Theater in this other cool game that's combined with it called Rising Storm
My memory was being squad leader and methodicaly advancing from position to position to keep spawning team mates. poping smokes for my squad and from time to time using them as cannon fodder to know when to move and when to cover haha
that moment when your artillery barage called behind the point gets 20-30 kills and your team take the point. also tank interiors are really good. even better than some newer games of the genre
Banger game, I return to it relatively rarely but every time I do I can find at least two populated servers. Maybe that's EU privilege but this game is not dead by any means, huge respect to the vets still playing every day. Absolutely unmatched atmosphere and sense of place, with just the right blend of hardcore and arcadey gameplay. I thought I was gonna love HLL when it came out and I appreciate that game for what it is but RO2/RS1 is the pinnacle of the genre for me, the spawn system and map design is really generous and means you're never more than a minute or two away from action. I used to main this game with friends back in the day and I'm the only one who still plays it sometimes - so glad I do though, I always end up staying on for hours longer than I meant to
Same haha, there were so many other aspects of the game that I could have mentioned here but I wanted to keep it short (suppression, hipfiring, soundtrack, etc. etc). HLL is fun in it's own way, but I agree with the spawns and maps being absolutely perfect in RO2
Spent good part of my late teens and early twenties playing this game think at least accumulated 800 hours on this game + 400 hours on rising storm I think I’m ready for red orchestra 3 if it ever came out don’t think I will see the light of day for a month at least 😂
such a gem of a game! i sometimes play it , and man it takes me back! also works out of the box on linux with proton if you are also on the linux peninsula
One of my go to games, played the series since it began back on Unreal Tournament 2004 and way before the time clock started in steam. The RO2 and RS are pure fun to play with or without bots; bots make great shooting gallery targets. The RS Viet-Nam wasnt a fav of mine, no bots; BUT the Black Orchestra in production could be a great contender, and lets not forget Hero's of the West too. Gotta say great video, and thanks for the showcase.
I never played any red orchestra before, I was wondering if the small community is welcoming for new players or not. If they're welcome then I'll buy both red orchestra games today and try it out 😅
the community is super chill - its a somewhat relaxed game in terms of people not taking it too seriously. No one will give you a problem for being new
ro2 is a little slower paced, maps slightly larger, with more players. If you’re familiar with insurgency though, you could pick this up relatively quick
Isn't the game dead? Every time I go on, I rarely see anyone and the people who are on don't talk or type so they're basically NPCs. I remember back in the day this game had lobbies filled with people who wouldn't stop talking and now it just sad
I think it's pretty time dependent. All this footage is pretty recent, and I was having luck finding a relatively full server on NA East afternoons and evenings. There isn't a lot of chatter compared to the old days though, you're right about that

Best memory of this game was - Spawn->run into mg->die->repeat
Then Voice spamming Ooooraaaah with mates
zastalinaaaaaa!!

i need to spend more time with the tanks, theyre so well done
yup, that was cool. everyone knew it was time to rush. pretty good playerbase. most of the time players fulfilled their role

Also omg, the voice acting and soundtrack? Crazy good and such a key part of the immersion. I could about this game all day hahaha

I accidentally shoot players all the time can't take it to heart cause friendly fire is apart of the game experience
Can you please check if Asia servers are alive and running?
really good video
Where the hell was that machine gun man?
behind the wall at the end of the hallway, listening for footsteps
@@nohud_ Ah, and he shot you from there?
@@TheIrishvolunteer yep. can't even be mad, thats clever. I didn't even know what happened until watching the footage back a few times
@@nohud_ Urban fighting at its most ingenious and brutal.
How tf did you get a full server?
had some luck on weekends and fridays, EST afternoon - evenings
whats the gameplay of this compared to that of insurgency sandstorm? it looks similar

No audio
