Everything good you've said about insurgency can be said about insurgency sandstorm. EXCEPT the graphics of insurgency that, I'll give you this, they look nice. And they do have that X factor that makes them feel good (to watch at least) But honestly insurgency sandstorm is really fucking awesome. And your complaint with it is basically "it's boring" which is pretty underwhelming. What SEEMS to be happening is that you probably just feel nostalgic about the og insurgency, and that's also probably the X factor we all know, nostalgia. I love insurgency sandstorm. The guns feel amazing. When I see an enemy fire at me from their vehicle machine gun I feel it in my fucking bones. First time I played it I ended up shaking. The sound is awesome, voice acting is awesome. And something I can say I like better in sandstorm than in insurgency is that when you kill someone, there's no pop up or sound or nothing. Your only way of knowing if you killed someone is to see his brain on the floor, blood on the walls, limbs all around. I like that.

2:27 the huge jump from a bland game to a transition to cool af explosions and overall just peak atmosphere and sound design is honestly really appaling. they were able to capture such a great atmosphere in battlefield 1, but 2042 just felt bland and souless. what went wrong????

I never played any red orchestra before, I was wondering if the small community is welcoming for new players or not. If they're welcome then I'll buy both red orchestra games today and try it out 😅

One of my go to games, played the series since it began back on Unreal Tournament 2004 and way before the time clock started in steam. The RO2 and RS are pure fun to play with or without bots; bots make great shooting gallery targets. The RS Viet-Nam wasnt a fav of mine, no bots; BUT the Black Orchestra in production could be a great contender, and lets not forget Hero's of the West too. Gotta say great video, and thanks for the showcase.

Devs did a amazing job here, just a shame the game got brigaded cuz a yt for this game ended themselves and people for some reason blamed the devs cuz they banned him weeks prior... games are amazing but i swear the people who play them....

You should play Spyro if you prefer games without an arrow marking the target in a mission. That game uses no on-screen tutorials at all. For Battlefield BC2 the term scale should be used. Vietnam especially feels like a PS2 and Xbox game. Back then, before the 360 times, games had to choose different ways to set a scale. Either the characters in a world are high scale which decreases the map fidelity a bit, the map being small but detailed incl. NPCs or low detail but big map. Games as an example are Silent Hill 2, Kudon, Fatal Frame vs. Socom, BF Modern Warfare vs Wolfenstein / COD Finest Hour / Call of Duty 2 Big Red One and Call of Duty 3. For me, BF3 peaked at BF3 or BC2 because the Conquest- and Rush Small and then even Squad DM made the sessions way more meaningful. Going bigger like BF3 and BF4 on PC destroyed all my joy which I had on 360. Insurgency Sandstorm is way worse. There is a map with an unfinished steel-frame building in the center of the road and one dude was camping there with a 240 saw. The issue is no one cares in Insurgency Sandstorm to come after campers. This was before PC gaming died. The dying part is only about old PC games which were fine for 10 plus years till the gameplay-over-gfx gamers moved on to create families or have no time. Compare that to console gamers, they seem to come together more frequently to play games. On the PS3 people still play BF, from what I have heard and I know they play COD4, WAW, MW3 and Zombies. Dead Island even still has some players. I should have joined but I did not feel like playing more at that one session. Xlink Kai and Insignia are vivid, mainly for US time zone but at least some EU games get scheduled. PC wise, either the Domm Zandronium community in Netherlands (the modder Danny's Multiplayer) is EU focused. I only know of an other community but they often complain that games start to late and only through discord text chats.... from Middle Eastern Countries sadly

Sandstorm doesnt make heavy loadouts walk slower.... it is an airsoft gun shooter and boring imo. If people like it then I let them have fun. Too many games are lesser than older ones Red Orchestra and Rising Storm are so good

Spent good part of my late teens and early twenties playing this game think at least accumulated 800 hours on this game + 400 hours on rising storm I think I’m ready for red orchestra 3 if it ever came out don’t think I will see the light of day for a month at least 😂

that moment when your artillery barage called behind the point gets 20-30 kills and your team take the point. also tank interiors are really good. even better than some newer games of the genre

Banger game, I return to it relatively rarely but every time I do I can find at least two populated servers. Maybe that's EU privilege but this game is not dead by any means, huge respect to the vets still playing every day. Absolutely unmatched atmosphere and sense of place, with just the right blend of hardcore and arcadey gameplay. I thought I was gonna love HLL when it came out and I appreciate that game for what it is but RO2/RS1 is the pinnacle of the genre for me, the spawn system and map design is really generous and means you're never more than a minute or two away from action. I used to main this game with friends back in the day and I'm the only one who still plays it sometimes - so glad I do though, I always end up staying on for hours longer than I meant to

Isn't the game dead? Every time I go on, I rarely see anyone and the people who are on don't talk or type so they're basically NPCs. I remember back in the day this game had lobbies filled with people who wouldn't stop talking and now it just sad

My lobbies are pretty quiet with me either texting or chatting in chat in an awkward silent most of the time

So glad I didn’t buy it. I already had it on steam for years and I played it around the time the rerelease dropped. It’s fun for like 30min until the nostalgia wears off.

I genuinely think ins1 is a better looking game than sandstorm. The lighting is just way better and in sandstorm everything is oversaturated and overcolorful.

Old insurgency is very immersive (way more with proper mods), but not for PVP, you will definitely see people playing it like CSGO

Perfect summary of how I felt last night when I installed the game again. Only now did I realize that, damn it hit its 10 year mark and this will like other games, eventually die :(

I sure do miss the old Insurgency mod days. Man, some really good fun and tough fights. I was hoping the Newer INS sandstorm would keep the feel of the original. That main screen music uhhhhh brings back some memories.

sandstorm lacked that immersion despite better graphics and gunplay. in sandstorm you can even hear those islamic chants playing in certain maps and even mosques as battle zone with potrait of saddam everywhere. sandstorm lacked that because the publisher wanted to play safe and it just didn't feels right.

I refuse to play on PC. So sand storm it is. Way less cheating on console. And I'll never become a PC peasant.

There's nothing like DH. The pace of the game is uncomparable. The level of intensity in close combats you won't see anywhere. 4k hours here and I'm still playing it.
