@@sincerelyelvispresley No way the last Elvis TV Special was shown in the UK in early October 1977 either 3rd or 12th I remember watching it and wished that it had never been recorded because Elvis was clearly very ill.
@dinshawpocha4882 unfortunately we never got anything that quickly in the UK. A quick Google suggests that while the US air date was October 3rd 77, we had to wait until June 9th 78. But you're absolutely right, Elvis was clearly very unwell indeed
@@sincerelyelvispresley Sorry Sean your quite right it just seemed to me at the time that the TV Special was shown the same year. From what I've read years ago CBS originally didn't want to air this special because Elvis looked very ill, they thought that they would wait until his health improved then record another Elvis Special. When Elvis passed they realised they had his last recorded live performance so they put it out. I like you don't want to see an official release because Elvis looked pretty bad. The Colonel was only thinking about the money.
Thanks Mark, glad you enjoy the videos and thanks for watching and supporting the channel. I'll definitely have to get around to putting together a blooper reel at some point!
Oh yes, Elvis is the most incredible guy who has ever visited this planet 🌟 Hello, Sean! Thank you so much for this wonderful and fundamental series of broadcasts! 💎 🙌 And may all the forces of the universe keep Elvis safe 🙌 (I hope this is the most powerful and most working spell 😁)
The bootleg boxset is VERY nice! I wasn't aware of it until this vid. 👍 It reminds me of a Bear Family set. Happy Holidays to you sir, and your entire family. 🎄🎉🎊🎄
As always Sean a fantastic video some of these book you have are amazing any way carrying on doing what you do look forward to see what is next take my friend
The BBC did a pretty decent job in the aftermath of Elvis's passing. During the 77 Christmas holidays they gave us the 12 days of Elvis, with a different movie every day (in the mornings if I remember correctly)
Hi Sean Great way to end the series all good fun be Elvis fan love what you do for us Elvis fans round the world l look forward more great video from you thank you so much my friend
Congratulations Sean on the conclusion of a great series. Appreciate all your hard work in putting these videos together. Time to put your feet up recharge the batteries and enjoy the festive period. Would love to see you do a review on Lorentzen’s 1124 book set to hear your opinion of it? Looking forward to your next venture and hope you have a great Christmas and New Year. All the best Daren
Thanks Darren, appreciate your kind words. I have a kind of fluid list of ideas for future content and I think that set is on there somewhere, but if it isn't, I'll be sure to add it. Have a great Christmas and New Year yourself!
Elvis4Sale. Not so much writing in this release, but still a fabulous set of the greatest Elvis movie. You can only compliment those involved by saying you couldn’t imagine the film being better with James Dean.
Hi Sean! Thanks for the enjoyable video. Another very nice Elvis album release in 1977 was the 5-LP box set titled "The Elvis Presley Story" (RCA Special Products/Candlelite Music). It was a huge seller in the U.S. (2x Platinum)
Very interesting video Sean, thank you. 3764 Elvis Presley Blvd looks amazing, (particularly in the Blue vinyl that you showed). From memory, (which is far from reliable these days) I believe the Elvis Monthly ran a poll re. suggestions for 'Elvis In Demand'... (probably limited for fan club members to reply) but either way, considering the lack of studio recordings, RCA managed to release three superb albums prior to August 16th. The BBC aired all three TV specials in 1978 Sean, with the CBS recordings being shown for the first time here in the UK. I'd never noticed the RCA Blue label font being used on the 'Welcome To My World' LP sleeve... Good spot! 😎, Steve
Thanks Steve, I got Elvis Monthly regularly from 75 onwards, so it's my memory that's clearly unreliable 🤣 now you mention it, I do recall all three specials getting a TV airing some while after Elvis passed, so 78 makes sense
In front of the cameras may have been what they thought would have made Elvis rise to the occasion as he had done for the Aloha show ,a fresh challenge so to speak . I do think however ever thought I like the special after he died I think it should have being kept in the cupboard and not shown. Elvis in demand I was really jealous of that the English fan club got to do it and our NZ club didn't lol - what a fool I was 😂
You may have a point there, or you may be giving the powers that be too much credit for thinking about anything other than dollars and cents, I guess we'll never know for sure. Elvis In Demand was certainly a fine release and still holds up today I think
1976 and 1977 are my least favorite "Elvis On Stage" Pics or Live Recordings (incl the Graceland 'Depressive Songs' in the Winter/Autumn of '76). Our Hero was really sick; mentally and on health...🎶Too Much Monkey Business🎶 and please don't blame it on 'The Colonel'😉 Thank you Sean!
Thanks Harald, I know exactly what you mean, and agree about the pics and live recordings, but as you can probably tell, I'm rather fond of the Jungle Room recordings 😊
@sincerelyelvispresley ...🎶Danny Boy🎶 from the "Graceland Sessions" is a REAL PLEASURE & JOY; and a 100% Perfectly Recording, well it's my humble opinion only my friend 😉
Hey Sean you would get way down at Hmv for £8 you have same name as my brother his name as Sean I come from Scotland I have most of his last concerts from June 1977 I can.t get Springfield 17th June and Sioux Falls 22 June 1977 keep up the good Kerry Christmas
Thank you David, that's an absolute steal at £8! The spelling of my name has a Scottish influence, as I was named after a certain Mr Connery 😊 Merry Christmas to you too!
68 to 77 great series Sean👍 I'm curious what you come up with next , I'm sure it will be great 👍 nice bootleg boxset you have there ,havent seen that before , I sometimes live under a rock🫠 btw I like the welcome to my world cover very much😁😁 great show brother !! Have great one✌️
Thanks brother, I've seen the EP Boulevard bootleg set on some of the stalls at the fairs you've been to, so you don't live under a rock, you just obviously suffer from 'Elvisblindness' like snowblindness, but nicer and usually very expensive 🤣 have a great one too!
We had to wait til June 78 to see the CBS Special. I have very clear memories of watching it with overwhelming sadness.
Thanks Steve, I had a feeling it was 78 and I know exactly what you mean

@dinshawpocha4882 hi Dinshaw, that would certainly make sense regarding the decision by CBS, thanks for sharing!
Great series, Sean. That Jungle Room boot LP is amazing. Never knew that existed. Looking forward to seeing where you go next. Cheers.
Thanks David, greatly appreciate the support as always. At some point I'll inevitably run out of stuff that other fans might not have seen 😧
Love that series, always enjoy your videos and your little bloopers and really liked the look of that bootleg boxset.
Luv the show.

A great video Sean. It makes my long Thursday even better.
That box set with the Linda Thompson photos was too much 😆.
Have a good rest of the week.
Kind of you to say Juan. That box set has definitely generated a few comments 😊 have a good rest of the week too!

I have the 2 cd set of “3764 Elvis Presley Blvd. Memphis, Tenn. 38116, but I must say that vinyl boxset is beautiful!⚡️
It's really nice isn't it? Although the CD set on its own is pretty good too
@@sincerelyelvispresleyThe cd set is a great listen, but that vinyl set is truly beautiful.⚡️
Hi Sean, my King Creole arrived this morning. 31/2000
Nice one, congrats, where did you order from?

I'm quite surprised at that, I've known them to be a bit slow with FTD stuff in the past. Maybe the new fan club link has had a positive effect

Thank you, glad you've enjoyed them and thanks for watching. The box set is an anonymous one, I can't find any reference to a label name anywhere
Am sure it’s a Danish release saw it when it was released but didn’t buy- shame am sure someone here will know
It's definitely by the same people as the 827 Thomas Street Set, but neither Elvis On CD nor Discogs lists a label for either
Sorry but the way down cs/ record has to be one of the best releases in the last 20 years !! I know brave words
